38:27I had no idea I was going to be taken to prison.
38:35At first, I was really lost.
38:41My entire life, I was taught that obedience was everything.
38:46First law of heaven.
38:47And now, here I am.

38:55That was when I started to.

39:07Even though most of my life, Warren Jeffs was in prison.
39:12In our eyes, he was so holy and righteous.
39:16Sam would read Warren's personal diaries to us almost every night.
39:22Sam was getting a lot of his ideas out of Warren's diaries.
39:33Being isolated in prison.
39:36I actually started thinking a little bit more about it.
39:44I had been in jail for four or five months.
39:47And one day, we were going to the courts for a status hearing about the situation with Sam.
39:56And they accidentally put me in a cell next to him.
40:01And he talked to me for four hours.
40:05He got all emotional and was all telling me, oh, I haven't got to talk to anybody for a whole
40:10year.
40:12He hadn't even been in there for an entire year.
40:15And that was the first time I actually recognized he's lying to me.
40:23After that, my whole mind shifted.
40:29Once I questioned one little thing, then a whole flood, like a tsunami of questions came in.
40:37What am I doing with my life?
40:39Why do I believe the way I believe?
40:41Is there even a God?
40:45And I realized I had been lied to my entire life.
40:50I was born in lies.
40:52And I couldn't even blame my parents for it.
40:55They were born in lies.
40:59When I look back, I see that girl in third person.
41:09I thought I was in love with him.
41:11But now looking back, I understand it was complete fear.
41:20The things that were going on inside were completely different than what was showed.

41:31It was an entirely different person.

41:46Beyond what anybody could fathom.

42:28After the kidnapping, all of the minor girls were separated.
42:32They were no longer in group homes.
42:34They all went to foster homes.
42:36They were no longer communicating with Sam or the other older wives.
42:42And that's when things in this case started to open up.
42:48I was able to talk to my daughters in foster care.
42:54When they were separated, they started to have a better understanding about certain things that happened.
43:02And I had to say to my girls, could you have said no or I don't want to do this
43:08without being punished in some way.
43:12And they all had to say no.
43:15We talked over and over about coming forth with the truth.
43:22The truth is really the best.
43:23It was one of Julia's underage girls who came forward first.
43:31She finally admitted that having sex with Sam did occur.
43:37And she then talked to some of the other girls that had been with Sam.
43:42And a few more of them started to come forward.
43:46They provided the full scope of what was happening on a daily basis.
43:53At a certain point, Sam Bateman was canceling all the religious classes and at-home schooling so that he could
43:59have sex with all of the girls all of the time.
44:03In addition to Sam, we got verification from minor victims against Sam's adult followers that he had wrapped up into
44:11this scheme.
44:12So we arrested Torrance and Liddell and five adult wives of Sam.
44:18And we finally got information that we needed for child sexual abuse charges against Sam Bateman.
44:25It was big.
44:30Tonight, a polygamous leader based in Colorado City, Arizona, is facing serious charges of sexual conduct involving children.
44:37Newly unsealed court documents today show a grand jury indicted him on additional charges.
44:43The allegations are beyond disturbing.
