00:00Strive from a place of surrender to the one who bore your sins for you, and
00:11thrive in the peace of surrender to the one who has good plans for you.
00:30Grace and peace to you all, wonderful children of God.
00:37You are welcome to our special Easter interactive prayer service here at God's Heart TV.
00:47On behalf of the God's Heart TV family, I extend to you a blessed Easter greeting today.
00:55And before we jump into the message, the Word of God, let's take a moment and pray together
01:03right now.
01:04Let's pray.
01:05Lord Jesus Christ, we thank you for the price you paid for our salvation.
01:21We recognize your precious blood as the most precious commodity in the history of mankind.
01:41Help us, O Lord, understand the spiritual meaning of the cross, that we never take your grace
02:03for granted in Jesus' mighty name.
02:11We pray.
02:14And the people of God said, Amen.
02:18Amen.
02:20Amen.
02:22Thank you, Holy Spirits.
02:23We thank God that our service today falls at this very significant period for us as Christians.
02:34The time of Easter is a very important period for us as believers.
02:41Easter provides an opportunity for reflection on where we stand spiritually because understanding
03:00what Calvary means lies at the heart of Christianity.
03:11So I have a fundamental question to ask you right now.
03:19What does the cross of Calvary mean for you?
03:28Amen.
03:30Just pause a moment.
03:34Ask yourself that question.
03:36Wherever you are connected to this service, ask yourself that question.
03:44What does the cross, the cross of Calvary, what does that mean for you?
03:56What does it mean for me?
04:02As you are thinking about this question, thinking about that price Jesus paid for you, for me, for us.
04:19I'm going to read the prophetic description of this from Isaiah 53.
04:28Verse 5 says this,
04:30The cross of Calvary, what does that mean for us?
04:31But he was wounded for our transgressions.
04:40He was bruised for our iniquities.
04:51The cross of Calvary, what does that mean for us?
04:54The cross of Calvary, what does that mean for us?
04:54For our peace was upon him.
05:01By his stripes we are healed.
05:08Oh, we, like sheep, have gone astray.
05:15We have turned everyone to his own way.
05:23And the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
05:33Oh, what does Calvary mean for you?
05:42What does Calvary mean to you?
05:48There are many people today who are ignorantly or stubbornly clinging onto what Christ has paid the price to free
06:13them from.
06:15You're holding onto, clinging onto, remaining bound by what Jesus Christ has paid the price, the supreme price, to set
06:34you free from.
06:37Galatians 5 verse 1.
06:40That's why I said we need to understand the spiritual meaning of the cross.
06:50Because the scripture says in 2 Corinthians 5 verse 17,
06:59All things pass away.
07:05Behold, all things become new at the cross.
07:12Because of the cross of Christ, you can have a relationship with the one who created you.
07:26You can live a life filled with purpose, meaning, contentment, hope.
07:36You no longer have to live bound by the pain of the past or burdened by the fear of the
07:46future.
07:47Because of the cross, you can face life's final deadline with assurance, with confidence, with courage.
08:01If only you believe.
08:05The period of Easter is an opportunity to reflect on this important truth, people of God.
08:13God.
08:15Look at the world we are living in.
08:18Look at the state of this world.
08:21I believe you would agree with me on this.
08:26We are living in a world that is overwhelmed by the fear of death.
08:35Why?
08:39Because no amount of money can free you from the fear of death.
08:47There is no tool technology has devised to eliminate the fear of death.
09:02There is no amount of worldly, earthly, natural security that can protect you from the effects of iniquity.
09:26A sin-soaked heart cannot be cleansed by anything in this world.
09:41Unless it is brought to the blood of Jesus, the inevitable consequence of iniquity, sin, is a life of insecurity.
09:58We don't have the assurance of where we are going.
10:06That is a picture of this world.
10:09People may distract themselves from that truth, but deep down in their hearts they know only the one who conquered
10:22death can deliver you from the fear of death.
10:28Jesus Christ.
10:31That is the spiritual meaning of the cross.
10:36Being a Christian is not actually about what you do.
10:41It is about what Christ has done.
10:44Because he did, we do.
10:49I'll say it again.
10:51Being a Christian, being a child of God is not actually about what you do.
10:58Because if God had chosen works rather than grace, no one of us would merit his mercy.
11:10It's not about what you do.
11:12It's about what he did on the cross for you, for me, for us.
11:24Because he did, we can do.
11:29It's not an issue of what must I do to earn salvation.
11:35No.
11:36What can I do because of that gift of salvation?
11:42I'm freely given.
11:44At the cross, we learn this.
11:47Never elevate toil above grace.
11:53Never elevate sweat above surrender.
11:59As Christians, yes, of course, we know it's important to work hard.
12:03But no amount of hard work, no amount of efforts can earn you the gift of salvation.
12:15We work hard, but our work is subject to his work in us and through us.
12:24And thrive from a place of surrender to the one who bore your sins for you.
12:35And thrive in the peace of surrender to the one who has good plans for you.
12:49What does Calvary mean for you?
12:55What does Calvary mean for you?
12:56How does that understanding of the cross influence and impact the way you live your life each and every day?
13:13One of the reasons.
13:19Many people today are still clinging, holding on to what Christ has freed them from.
13:31Is because they still have one leg in Christ.
13:40One leg in the world.
13:45We are trying to strike a balance with sinful indulgence in the pleasures of this world.
13:58With actual obedience to the treasures of God's Word.
14:04People of God, I want you to know this today.
14:10Christianity cannot be fully enjoyed unless it is truly embraced.
14:26Christ.
14:28Think about that.
14:31Not one leg in, one leg out.
14:36Christianity.
14:39To enjoy the benefits of Calvary.
14:44Christianity.
14:46The freedom that Christ died to provide you.
14:53Christianity cannot be fully enjoyed unless it is truly embraced.
15:04Christ.
15:05Christ.
15:08Christ.
15:09Christ.
15:11Christ.
15:13Christ.
15:14Christ.
15:14Christ.
15:15Christ.
15:18Christ.
15:23Christ.
15:28Christ.
15:31Christ.
15:33the blessings.
