00:00don't let the sun go down on your anger so don't delay in addressing an issue of that day
00:07if an issue has come today address it that day and i really believe in a christian home
00:13even if our flesh may respond at first and we resist when the truth of god's word is spoken
00:21in love and with peace you will see the holy spirit will touch the hearts of the other person
00:27to accept it resolution will come and you move forward
00:38praise and peace to us all in jesus name during the course of this service you mentioned
00:45about conflict resolution you said when emotions are high it is important to if you have a prayer
00:54room go into your prayer room you have a time of prayer to have your heart settled before you
01:02come and address the issue by the way i'm not married yet i'm believing god my question is
01:08what if after your prayer you come back and your spouse seems to be unresponsive to the issue you
01:16want to address what do you do do you go back to pray or you give it time before you
01:23address the issue
01:26in a christian home i want to emphasize something we recognize that we speak god convicts
01:41god makes the word work in the hearts of the people the holy spirit uses our words to touch the
01:49hearts
01:49so if you speak to someone you address an issue and you're speaking the truth and they seem unresponsive
01:57at that moment so maybe they are the other party is emotionally overwhelmed you don't force the word
02:05the message on someone but you speak the truth and i sincerely believe that once you address an issue
02:15in love and the other party takes time to reflect on what has been said you will find that a
02:25resolution
02:26will come so in answer to your question if you address an issue and there is not a quick response
02:33to the person you don't have to force a resolution at that very moment if you need to go back
02:40to the
02:40prayer room or you need to continue another activity do so but just know when you speak that word in
02:46truth
02:46the holy spirit will prompt the hearts of your wife your husband to come to a point of resolution so
02:57you speak the word but you're not the one that makes the word work that's god
03:02you don't force someone to accept your message god prompts the hearts of the person so as long as you
03:10have played your parts as in this case our brother speaking although he's not married but let's say our
03:15brother as a husband speaks to his wife and tells her the right thing and addresses the issue and she
03:22is
03:23reluctant to receive the message or she's trying to fight back you don't have to as i mentioned in the
03:28message start now engaging in a back and forth and back and forth speak the truth if you need to
03:34then
03:35go back to your prayer room go on another activity you will see that that word will be working in
03:40the
03:40hearts of your wife as a believer to come to a point of settlement so this is not a formula
03:48the things of god
03:49cannot be reduced to a formula where you say right i go to the prayer room for 10 minutes after
03:56that i address
03:57the issue then if it doesn't work after five minutes i have to go back you have to recognize that
04:02each
04:02situation is is different but the principle there is definitely don't let the sun go down on your anger
04:12so don't delay in addressing an issue of that day if an issue has come today address it that day
04:19and i
04:19really believe in a christian home even if our flesh may respond at first and we resist when the truth
04:28of god's word is spoken in love and with peace you will see the holy spirit will touch the hearts
04:34of the
04:35other person to accept it resolution will come and you move forward so thank you thank you thank you
04:42brother for that question i would like just to add as reminder of what brother chris spoke to in today's
04:50message is that um if you still find a person um a little bit provoked or the person is silent
04:58or
04:59doesn't want to say anything don't don't base now your uh follow actions or reactions based on that
05:07because that will only uh put you and and and your a wife in a like um cycle because now
05:17she doesn't
05:17want to speak to you so by the time she's ready to speak to you you will say also oh
05:22no i don't want
05:23to speak to you because you didn't want to speak when i wanted to speak so it's just having that
05:28understanding that if you are doing the right thing and you are following the right process in the
05:34conflict resolution so then if she's ready to talk now to sort the issue so then you need to be
05:41ready to do that also so so don't don't start with that um game of back and forth on the
05:50issue that you
05:50did this you respond to me like that you spoke to me like that so now i'm also doing it
05:55so i just wanted
05:56to bring that remind a reminder in case um that is the situation when you want to solve an issue
06:03after
06:03that you have prayed about thank you thank you very much for that uh contribution alison and it's
06:09also important to emphasize that just as we talk about us being different some people we process
06:17things in different ways someone that it may take very quickly you can hear an issue understand an
06:24issue address an issue and overcome it some other people may take a little bit longer to process it
06:29this is the reason why as husband and wife in the process of conflict management you get to
06:35understand each other so you may realize that even though i'm going to talk to my wife it may
06:41not be the right time i may need to give it a little bit longer because i have a greater
06:45understanding of
06:46the process my wife is going through so understanding each other is the key to effectively navigating
06:53a lot of these issues so thank you for that question over many years in ministry i cannot begin to
07:08count
07:09the number of people i have spoken to prayed for counseled whose lives have been destroyed by alcohol
07:24so
07:27you
07:29you
