00:04well now the attention turns to how do they match up against uconn and connecticut is going to be
00:11a tough guard for michigan uh you're gonna have to chase their shooters through a labyrinth of
00:17screens they're number two in the country and points off of screens and michigan's done a
00:23decent job defending that don't get me wrong but that's a challenge tonight and there are
00:29you know this isn't a punch button just roll out the basketball and win kind of game i did not

00:34into the narrative that michigan versus arizona was the de facto national championship game because
00:39illinois and uconn spent much of the season in the top 10 they aren't like two cinderellas over there
00:44uconn spent a lot of the year at number two in the country so i never really bought that narrative
00:50but the challenges tonight for michigan uh are are there several i think probably the biggest of
01:00which is on the defensive end chasing their shooters through screens and an example caravan at the four
01:07now caravan has played this will be his third national championship game he's he's played in
01:15two of these already his third national championship game there's a stat out there that he alone has been
01:20on more ncaa has more ncaa wins on his resume than like a ton of schools like i have to

01:26field at division one but he's a good three-point shooter and rez or mara one of those two is

01:35have to chase him through screens and the other one's going to have to guard the truck so you you
01:42they're they're a defensive challenge uh this arizona team but michigan fans what are your concerns

04:00him any goods and uh it's just it's so frustrating he's the guy that's responsible for putting this
04:06team together ultimately it's on the players to perform but when it's four years in a row and
04:11you've continued to tinker with it it's it's it's on you this seat's getting real hot for stevie i hope
04:16that he can turn things around but that's all it is right now it's hope they've got five games left

04:42looks like they're gonna they're gonna do something right and it feels like they've been stuck in the
04:47mid 80s and points now they have 88 points but i mean they had 86 it felt like for the

04:53and they're gonna end up probably north of 90 points but this is not the year to do that not
04:58an eastern conference because there's too many teams that are right along with you and then you
05:03look at the western conference and you see that the uh you know national predators have the second
05:07wild card spot with 81 points and they'd be a comfortable place for the red wings to be
05:13if they were there but they're not they're competing in the east where it is a competition and they just
05:19don't have the team that has the makeup to do what it needs to be done in in month in
05:26march in april
05:27and may and god willing in june you know they they're not built that way i don't know how many

05:32have on this roster that are worth uh thinking about moving forward with um at least a handful i guess

05:39it's i don't know if it's too much more than that i think this team needs a complete roster overhaul
05:45and it's not easy to replace it i mean you can say oh we want guys are going to be

06:21a jv baseball and what i'm talking about when the team had runners in second first and second easy

06:36a sacrifice suicide bond then the second baseman doesn't cover first the pitcher hesitates to throw
06:44then he throws the guy still three foot from first base it goes down the right field line
06:50then there's uh what's the other play then the tigers have a runner at first or second and third
06:56fly ball to right field the guy air mails at home the tiger guy is safe the guy at second

07:02take third i just see so many little mistakes i feel sorry for their pitchers because they gave up
07:09three runs that out of the four that should not have scored and i i just don't know the base

08:44i put a lot of stock in world baseball class because that to me isn't a typical spring training
08:49game that's a try-hard game yeah it's a try-hard game and that's a i gotta get outs game

09:03and hinch and fetter with all these guys together they take chances on pitchers that they think they
09:07can reclaim and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't it's early in the season and it didn't
09:12look good i will agree with the caller on one thing that it bothered me as well on the uh

09:17hobby bias at the plate runners at second and third meadows at second and dingler was at third
09:22and bias it's a line drive to right it's sack fly thing was going to score i too was disappointed
09:30that parker meadows didn't tag up because parker meadows is playing it halfway i'm like why are you
09:34playing with your speed yeah if he misplays the ball you're gonna you're gonna walk in from second
09:38anyway stand on second base get ready to take off and go to go to third and get yourself in
09:44scoring position but he didn't he came out too far and then by the time he's coming back to second
09:50base you know the throw is already in the air coming home uh before he even comes back to touch
09:56second base he had no chance and it's too bad because he should have been on third base in that
10:00situation the good news is it was like one bad inning of work offensively and defensively for the
10:06tigers in that the rest of the way i thought they played pretty well defensively as a team
10:11so far no matter who's out there whether it's mcgonagall at third or it's short or whoever they
10:17have out there they played pretty well defensively but that was an instance where it caught them and
10:24it likely cost them the game now you could also say that the lack of timely hitting hitting cost them
10:29but i thought it was interesting watching a stat on saturday's game they showed the tigers numbers
10:35with runners in scoring position and then it was uh runners in scoring position with less than with
10:41two outs not less than but with two outs they're like best in the league yeah it's incredible and
10:49all that tells me is that well it's like runners on base runners on base and scoring position and
10:54runners on base and scoring position two outs the numbers kept getting better and better and better
10:57but then i realized well the reason it's like that or one of the things you look at is that

11:02haven't had many opportunities right with runners on base in the first place because they didn't hit
