00:46We're here at Fontana.
00:48Not doing NASCAR this time.
00:49We're doing Rally.
00:50We've got the Rally set up right over here with the Dodge Dart.
00:52X Games is two days away.
00:54And X Games is actually going to be our best for the Dart track.
00:57It definitely has a lot of different variety in it, so it's going to be a fun week.
01:01So we're trying to get Travis' Dodge Dart sorted out for X Games.
01:04The trouble is, we never had an ideal setup at Charlotte or at Texas.
01:08And then X Games is different again.
01:10It's more narrow, the speeds aren't as high, and there's a lot of dirt sections which might
01:14have some bumps into and out of.
01:16So if we can get Travis really comfortable where he feels like he could place the car where
01:19he needs to, we're going to be going the right direction.
01:22We've got all the new chassis, new everything, so we're taking a little shakedown.
01:26It's awesome.
01:26Just came from Milwaukee yesterday.
01:28Had an awesome, awesome test with the NASCAR team.
01:30Learned some cool stuff.
01:31We're going to try it on the Rally car.
01:32We've got Bryce over here in the 99 car, so it's pretty cool.
01:36He's never really been in a car quite like this, so it's going to be a really fun day
01:38for him.
01:39We're giving him a lot of crap.
01:40These are the easiest cars and the hardest cars to drive, because wherever you're pointing,
01:43they go.
01:43But wherever you're pointing, they go in a hurry.
01:46It's my first time ever driving a Rally car, so we're going to be out here testing for two days,
01:49trying to get, you know, the feel for it.
01:51My background is off-road.
01:52I race trophy trucks and short-course trucks.
01:54Everything that you put into it, as long as you're, as long as you just keep aiming.

02:33I feel like we still have a little bit of an understeer issue after it sets.
02:38I've been out here all morning watching Travis, you know, test his car and make a bunch of
02:41changes and see what he does with the car, throw it around, and trying to get some feedback
02:44from him of what I should do in my car.
02:47Biggest thing for me, I think, is to get the understeer out of the car.
02:50I mean, it's a big car.
02:50It's the American muscle of Rally.
02:52The problem was, once it rotated and all that weight set on that front tire, the front outside
02:57tire, that's the only, like, it was like only one wheel was gripping with the ground.
03:01I think it's going to be good to make some pretty substantial changes in a direction,
03:06so it's clear very quickly if it helped or didn't, and then we can back off from there
03:11to find maybe a sweet spot.
03:12We're about 1.2 seconds faster with this setup than back-to-back runs with the old setup,
03:19and we were 9 tenths off of all of the last race.
03:22So in theory, this ship won us 3 tenths faster than everybody else.
03:31before we started, we just took a look at the set of up.
03:33Then we're going to go to the arena.
03:34We're going to go to the station on the other side.
03:38It's going to come out to the new market.
03:39We're going to try to stay on top of the little spot.
03:42We're going to try to make sure that the driver doesn't count from us.
03:49We're going to try to get into that scenario.
03:52The new setup of the new setup is a dynamic,
03:54and we're going to try to keep a little bit more.
03:58This year at X Games, it's different from every other year, A, because I'm not afraid
04:02for my life, and B, because I'm not riding a dirt bike.
04:05So I made a career on dirt bikes, but this year, I'm going for the gold in the rally
04:08car and get to watch all my friends with motorcycles.
04:10I don't know if it'll be hard or easy for him to kind of sit back while all the
04:15fastidies go on and wait until Sunday for his event.
04:21All right, on our way today, we have the Red Bull X Games opening party, and then we're
04:26going straight from there to the red carpet, the Man Chinese Theater for a Nitro 3D premiere.

09:11See, in rally-cross, you have to deal with other people, and as well.

09:22and honestly, like Sebastian said earlier, driving's driving.

17:32It's rally day.
17:32Travis qualified second yesterday.
17:35So far this morning, he's done one practice session.
17:37All the drivers have done a practice session.
17:49You're going to watch the first heat.
17:51The first place qualifier was Ken Block.
17:52Sebastian Lowe was the fastest day in practice.
17:54So I think there's going to be a lot of guys really, really close for the win.
17:57Going into my heat, I started third row.
17:59Got a really good jump.
18:00Coming into turn one and the outside guy just turned in, hit me into Reese Millen.
18:04And it just sucked me back into fourth and there's carnage.
18:15What the hell was that, dude?
18:16We got the fastest car on the track.
18:18You've got to be kidding me.
18:19Everybody was breaking and all of a sudden, I just get hit from behind like I'm thinking
18:22a Mack truck's coming through.

18:48And then the guy that got the worst start just came and pile-drived him into the outside

18:53It wasn't much of a chance for him to have an opportunity to pull away from the field and
18:57guarantee his spot in the final.
18:59Now we have a wrecked car because one guy couldn't figure out how to use his brake pedals.

19:07And they went and wrecked him.
19:08So they came back, tried to jump in my car to use it for the heat.
