04:15I think what I do is I just continue what I normally would do.
04:19Like, if I'm hurt, I just, I still go to the skate park
04:23and cheer my friends on, and I'm still there,
04:26and I just believe that I'm gonna heal.
04:29Like, I feel like my, your brain can do that.
04:32You can heal yourself if you're positive about it.
04:35I used to make bad decisions, skating,
04:39because I was committed, too committed.
04:42But I'm wiser now, so I make better decisions,
04:46but I still fuck up.
04:49I was always jealous, because a lot of my friends
04:52could carve grind really good.
04:54And I was just like, how do you do that?
04:57And when I figured it out, I was like, oh,
04:59oh, that's how you do it, you know?
05:04And it's just a matter of where your weight is on the board.
05:10Putting on some pads, you can skate the ball.
05:15It is terrifying.
05:18But I got Pete here to teach me, so it should be all right.

05:58For me personally, he's given me the greatest gifts of all of just,
06:01like, mentorship, extremely generous, and then a great teacher.

06:11If you ever have a problem learning a trick,
06:14or you don't have the confidence to do something,
06:17he can really just push you in a way that you've never thought you could get to.

08:01So I go shooting into there, and I immediately go in, and I just hit this wall.
08:07And then I hit this wall, and then I hit this wall, and then I hit the pads finally.
08:10And I'm like, wow.
08:13Eventually, I start running into the pads.
08:15Okay, I think I'm ready.
08:17Take the pads out.
08:18And then I do this one, and I come around, and I'm used to running into the pads.
08:21So I come out, and I just go .
08:25And I land, and my helmet pops off my head, and lands in my chest.
08:29And Tony comes walking over like, are you okay?
08:32And I'm like, I'm all right.
08:34And I just get, I think I did it next try, but yeah, that was, that was an experience.

08:48It's 9am, warm-up session.

09:25It's a nice way to get out of bed.

09:55Just that first feeling of roller skate trucks on a skateboard, that's all it really was to begin with.

10:12This trick is really hard because the skateboard can only turn so much.
10:16But with this one, if you lean in more, it's possible.

11:21Might be a fridge in the bowl or full of sand and water.

11:27But it sure feels good to be on the road with Pete and his crew.
11:33It's a special place.
11:36You feel, I feel like, re-energized when I go out there.

11:42Get in the pool and you just melt into the thing.
11:51It looks like nobody's skated here in a while.
11:55And the thing is so steep, too.
11:57I came here once before and I don't remember it being that steep.
12:02But bowl skating, it's like coming to a skate spot and you've got to fix it up.
12:07And the thing to skate is not super perfect.
12:10It's not easy.
12:13Every pool's different.
12:17They're not going to be there for very long.
12:20You have to get it when you can get it.
12:24It's like when the waves are good, you have to surf them when they're there.
12:30So, it's a challenge.
