01:21that will air on NBC before the Super Bowl.
01:24Yeah, Trump did the interview on one condition.
01:26Anytime he was asked about Jeffrey Epstein,
01:28he got to spin his chair around like The Voice.
01:36But Trump was happy to do the interview,
01:38because now he could say,
01:39100 million people watched the Super Bowl, thanks to me.
01:43They all tuned in for the...
01:50Well, this is big.
01:51The House just passed a new spending bill,
01:53so the federal government has fully reopened

02:03Yep, in a statement, House Speaker Mike Johnson said,
02:06we were on the verge of shutting down,
02:07but we somehow survived.
02:10And JCPenney said,
02:12you were on the verge of shutting down,
02:13but somehow survived?
02:14Join the club, bud.
02:17Great.
02:21And Johnson said,
02:22we got caught with our pants down,
02:23but came out looking good.
02:30Join the club, bud.
02:36Then Johnson said,
02:37we spent hours thinking,
02:39how much longer is this going to go on?
02:41Then everyone who saw the Melania documentary said,
02:43spend hours thinking,
02:44how much longer is this going to go on?
02:46Join the club, bud.
02:50Then Johnson said,
02:52we closed the door and made some magic.
02:54Then your mom watching Bridgerton said,
02:56close the door and made some magic.
02:58Join the club, bud.
03:04Then Johnson said,
03:05at one point,
03:05I got so emotional,
03:06I had to leave the room.
03:08Then your dad watching a Super Bowl ad
03:10with the Clydesdale and a puppy said,
03:11got so emotional,
03:12you had to leave the room.
03:13Join the club, bud.
03:19Then Johnson said,
03:20my haters called me a giant smelly rat,
03:22but I'm just doing my job.
03:24Then Puxatawney Phil said,
03:25your haters call you a giant smelly rat,
03:27you're just doing your job.
03:28Join the club, bud.
03:32Then Johnson said,
03:34we still have so much to get done,
03:35it is a long list.
03:37And finally,
03:38President Trump said,
03:39I'm not on the list.
03:40Wait, what was the question?
03:42I'm doing the club, bud.
03:45Join the club, bud.
03:48Some more political news.
03:50The CEOs of Netflix and Warner Brothers
03:52just testified before the Senate
03:53to defend their possible merger.
03:56Senator Cory Booker led the proceedings,
03:58and this was crazy.
04:00At the end,
04:00it turned out he was cake.
04:02What?
04:05Well, guys,
04:09the Olympics are almost here,
04:11and NBC is running a lot of promos
04:12to get people excited.
04:14Check out this one I saw earlier today.
04:15The Winter Olympics are here,
04:18featuring death-defying sports,
04:20mind-bending agility,
04:21and curling.
04:22Flying downhill at 90 miles per hour,
04:25soaring over 60 feet in the air,
04:27and a rock tapping another rock.
04:28Early mornings in the gym,
04:30late nights on the slopes,
04:32and swiffering.
04:33Don't miss the world's greatest athletes,
04:35Hillary Knight,
04:36Khloe Kim,
04:37and Doug.
04:38Catch them all on NBC.
04:42Exciting.
04:43The Olympics are almost here, baby.
04:49Hey, did you see this?
04:50Spain just became the first European country
04:53to ban social media for teens.
04:57Yeah.
04:59Yeah, your annoying friend is like,
05:01I just got back from Barcelona.
05:03I was going to post about it,
05:05but they banned Facebook and Instagram.
05:09Yep, Spain is hoping teens pick up
05:11more appropriate hobbies like
05:12drinking red wine and bullfighting.
05:16And finally, guys,
05:17you ever work with someone a while,
05:19and you see them around the office every day,
05:20but you don't really know each other?
05:22Yep.
05:22Well, here's a song about that I hope you like.
05:24Take a look.
05:31He's a co-worker whom I barely know.
05:36I think he works like two floors below.
05:40If we pass in the hall, I give a head nod.
05:43I think that his name is Stephen or Todd,
05:45but it's been too long,
05:46and it's past the point when I can ask him, though.
05:49He's a co-worker whom I barely know.
05:53I think we just have different workflows.
05:57If we pass in the hall, I give a little way.
06:00If I want to say his name, or Jason, or Dave,
06:02think he told me once,
06:03but I had on noise-canceling headphones.
06:07Gregory or Harold?
06:09Trevor, Mike or Gerald?
06:11Gerald.
06:11I'm so unaware of this guy's whole M.O.
06:15Benjamin or Terry?
06:17Terry.
06:18Vincent, Dean or Larry?
06:19Larry.
06:20I am very wary, so I'll settle with...
06:23Sup, bro.
06:25We could be best friends,
06:27but we don't take the next step.
06:30We keep to ourselves,
06:32but it could be my best friend.
06:34Invite him to brunch and share a handless mimosa.
06:38But we never talk,
06:40so we'll never get closer.
06:43Never, never, never, never, never, never, never, never, never get closer.
06:50He's a co-worker whom I barely know.
06:55When it's 5 p.m., yeah, it's time to go.
07:00On the way out is in the elevator.
07:03I'll say bye.
07:03I'll say see you later.
07:05He's a co-worker whom I barely know.
07:10Trevor.
07:12Vincent.
07:13He's the co-worker who I finally know.
07:21Today's my last day.
07:22Good luck with everything.
07:28My back to Kevin James.
07:30His new movie, Solo Mio,
07:31is in theaters Friday.
07:33We have a great show.
07:37Oscar nominee Ethan Hawke is here tonight.
07:43Global pop stars,
07:45Cat's Eye,
07:49NFL All-Pro Miles Garrett is here.
07:53And we got great music,
07:55all new music from Nick Jonas.
08:00Stick around.
08:01We'll be right back with Ethan Hawke, everybody.
08:02Come on back.
08:05Yeah.
08:06But I knew I wanted to be on that wall.
08:08Yeah.
08:08Yeah, that's what I wanted to do in my life.
08:10Come on.
08:11They put me next to Denzel.
08:13I mean, I've got good places.
08:15That's not bad.
08:16Yeah, yeah.
08:25Our first guest
08:27is a talented actor
08:29who just received his fifth Oscar nomination
08:32for his role
08:34in the film
08:35Blue Moon,
08:37which is available on digital platforms.
08:39Now, please welcome Ethan Hawke.
08:44I love it.
08:48Ethan, welcome, welcome back.
08:50Thank you for being here.
08:52Now, your new movie,
08:55Blue Moon,
08:56takes place in the classic
08:57New York restaurant Sardi's.
08:59So I thought that we could bring
09:00Sardi's to 30 Rock tonight.
09:02One of the signature things about Sardi's
09:04is the portraits,
09:05these drawings on the walls.
09:07The biggest stars in Broadway have one.
09:09And over the years,
09:09they've collected over 1,200 drawings.
09:13And all of the drawings around us
09:14are actually originals
09:15from the walls of the restaurant.
09:18They even lent us
09:20the real silverware.
09:21By the way,
09:22this is their plates
09:23that you have at Sardi's.
09:24Classy.
09:24Classy.
09:25And their bread basket.
09:26That's real bread from Sardi's right there.
09:28That's real deal.
09:30So thank you to everyone at Sardi's
09:32for letting us borrow everything tonight.
09:34You'll get it back.
09:35Ethan, welcome to the show.
09:37Welcome to Sardi's.
09:38Put your napkin on your lap.
09:38Thank you, of course.
09:39Yeah, white sails off the deck.
09:42You recently got your portrait up at Sardi's.
09:45I did.
09:45How does it feel for you?
09:47Well, I feel like if you're a ball player,
09:50you want to be in the halls.
09:51And I remember I saw my first Broadway show.
09:54My mom took me.
09:54I was about 12 years old.
09:56And we went to see this play,
09:58Mornings at 7.
09:59I remember what it was called.
09:59I remember the set and everything.
10:02I don't have any idea what was going on.
10:03Mornings at 7.
10:04Yeah, I don't know what it is.
10:06It's just a play.
10:06It's just a play.
10:06I saw this play.
10:07But we went to Sardi's afterwards
10:09and I saw all these pictures up.
10:11And I didn't know who anybody was or anything,
10:12but I knew I wanted to be on that wall.
10:14Yeah.
10:14Yeah, that's what I wanted to do in my life.
10:16Come on.
10:19And now you could say,
10:20you are on the wall.
10:22There you are right there.
10:23Nice picture of you.
10:25And they put me next to Denzel.
10:28I mean, I've got good placements.
10:29That's not bad.
10:30Yeah.
10:30It is a big deal.
10:31I brought my kids to Sardi's too,
10:33just so they can see it
10:34and get the fun of all these talented actors.
10:37You know what's kind of funny?
10:38Right behind me, you've got Billy Cruda.
10:40Oh, yeah.
10:40Who happens to be a friend of mine,
10:41but not at first,
10:43because we used to go up.
10:44We used to audition for everything.
10:46And you know when you're a kid,
10:47you think you're against everybody, right?
10:49Yeah, of course.
10:49You don't understand that there's room
10:50for everybody to find themselves and do their thing.
10:53So I would see him at every audition.
10:55I'd often have to be outside the room
10:57and listen to him do the scene before me.
10:59Oh, my God.
11:00And you're like, that kid's good.
11:01And he was so good.
11:02Yeah.
11:03He was so irritated.
11:04Yeah, you go, I don't like him.
11:05Stop rolling.
11:06In fact, I was offered a play once.
11:10I think he knows this.
11:11And I had to say no to it,
11:13because I was doing a movie, right?
11:15It was a Tom Stopper play.
11:16And they gave him the part,
11:18and then his career took off.
11:20And I sometimes just want to go back in time,
11:23take the part to stop his career.
11:25Yes, of course.
11:26You know, we must stop Billy Crudup.
11:28He's too talented.
11:30I actually begged Sardis,
11:32because I was on Broadway for...
11:34Well, you were.
11:36How did it feel?
11:37Seven days.
11:38Thank you, please.
11:39Seven?
11:40Please sit down.
11:41Seven performances.
11:44All right.
11:46I'm so embarrassed.
11:47I'm embarrassed.
11:48Don't look at me.
11:49It was Hamlet, right?
11:51It was something like that.
11:52Yeah.
11:52It was close to Hamlet.
11:54Yeah, yeah, yeah.
11:55But it had letters in the title.
11:57But I remember I just made a big deal
11:59that I was on Broadway,
12:00and I was only, you know,
12:00I did seven performances.
12:01I begged Sardis,
12:02and they were nice enough
12:03to draw me a portrait.
12:05I am on the wall there.
12:07Oh, there you are.
12:07You look sharp.
12:08And thank you.
12:09Yeah, it's a great pleasure to be there.
12:12I'm really smiley.
12:13You're next to Audra McDonald.
12:14You got Liza Minnelli up here.
12:16I mean, he's got so many.
12:18Everybody, yeah.
12:18And honestly,
12:19we're so lucky to have Broadway
12:20so close to us,
12:21and they've been guests on the show
12:22and performing on the show,
12:23and that's why.
12:24And now you're a Broadway luminary yourself.
12:26Yeah, of course.
12:27But you know,
12:28so Blue Moon,
12:30it's a knockout performance, Ethan.
12:32This one is a crusher.
12:34It's you.
12:35There's other people in the film,
12:36but you carry this.
12:38It's almost like a monologue.
12:39I want to get into this.
12:41Lorenz Hart,
12:42who was Rodgers and Hart,
12:44one of the best composers out there.
12:46But what makes me love you even worse,
12:49Blue Moon came out,
12:50and I think the same weekend
12:52or the next weekend,
12:53Black Phone 2 came out.
12:54Yeah, see,
12:55I have range.
12:57Yes, thank you.
12:57You have range.
12:59You do.
13:00But I was like,
13:01how is Ethan juggling this?
13:04Great career.
13:05Is there a genre that you haven't done?
13:08Because I've seen you in romantic comedies
13:09or romance dramas.
13:11I mean, you're a ladies' man.
13:13You're a stud.
13:13I've seen you in drama.
13:14I've seen you in...
13:16Action movies.
13:18Training day.
13:19Before sunrise.
13:20I grew up loving movies so much
13:22that I call myself,
13:23like, I'm genre agnostic.
13:26I love movies.
13:27You do?
13:28Yeah.
13:28And so I like to go see
13:29some weird art film.
13:30I like to go see a good scary movie.
13:32I like to see a Western.
13:33And I had this idea
13:34when I was first starting
13:35that is kind of morbid,
13:37but I was thinking about
13:38what I wanted my obituary to say.
13:40And I wanted...
13:41No, no, in a good way.
13:42I want to say,
13:43this guy has one good movie
13:45in every genre.
13:47And I thought, like,
13:48that would be...
13:49Like, what if you could do that?
13:51What's that?
13:51You're close.
13:53I know.
13:53I know.
13:54It's getting scary.
13:55It makes me feel old
13:55that I actually have...
13:56No, no, you're not going to...
13:58I checked a few off.
13:58No, but you actually have.
13:59What is the genre you haven't done?
14:01All right.
14:02You know what?
14:03When I see movies
14:04like Talladega Nights,
14:07I want to be in it so badly.
14:09Okay.
14:10Like, why does it...
14:11Your friends are Will Ferrell.
14:12Hook a brother up.
14:14I mean, I could drive those cars.
14:17You know, I could make
14:18a fool out of myself.
14:19You should do a movie with Will.
14:20I want to.
14:21Yeah, you've got to do a comedy.
14:23That's...
14:23The good news is
14:24they're making them again.
14:25Well, that's nice.
14:26But, you know,
14:27one of the things that I like
14:28about Richard Linklater films,
14:29like you mentioned,
14:30the Before Sunrise,
14:31that whole series.
14:33But basically,
14:33every movie he does is a comedy.
14:35And one of the things
14:35that I love about Blue Moon,
14:37because it is sad
14:38and it's heartbreaking,
14:39but it's funny.
14:40You're really funny.
14:41It's a funny movie.
14:42And Rodgers and Hart are funny.
14:43That's what we...
14:44We wanted the whole movie
14:45to feel like a Rodgers and Hart song.
14:47Kind of classic in its structure,
14:49but just walking that razor's edge
14:51between silly, stupid, and profound.
14:54Like, when you walk on that...
14:55You're talking to the bartender
14:56who's played by Bobby Cannavale,
14:58fantastically, by the way.
14:59Yeah.
15:00And you're just kind of complaining
15:01about the business
15:01and talking about it
15:02and being...
15:03Judging things and going,
15:04no, this play means nothing.
15:05But what is it?
15:06But you're like,
15:07kind of like,
15:08you can see that you're desperate to...
15:09I'm about to have a nervous breakdown
15:10about how bad this play is.
15:11Yes.
15:12And it's like,
15:13it's heartbreaking
15:14to watch a man break down like that.
15:16But you still have ideas
15:17and you're still you
15:18and you ask the piano player,
15:19hey, do you remember my song?
15:20Do you know Blue Moon?
15:21Yeah, yeah.
15:22Anyway, I wrote that.
15:22You know, no big deal.
15:23And it's like, kind of...
15:24But it's...
15:24And it looks nothing like you,
15:26by the way.
15:27Great job.
15:27Hair and makeup.
15:28Yeah, David Afteton.
15:29Shout out to him.
15:30Were you really bald in that?
15:31Did you shave your hair?
15:31Well, I shaved my head.
15:32But worse than bald is I had...
15:34I grew my hair long
15:35and then I shaved this part
15:37and left this part long
15:38so I could do the comb over.
15:39Oh, my God!
15:40Which is fine on set,
15:42but when you're going to buy coffee
15:43in the morning,
15:44you know what I mean?
15:45I look like a full-blown lunatic.
15:47And it was devastating
15:51to my self-esteem.
15:52Yeah.
15:52Yeah.
15:53I got no time from anybody.
15:55And also, by the way,
15:56how did you play?
15:56Because he's much shorter
15:57than you in real life.
15:58How did you play?
15:59He was about five feet tall.
16:00So that was a little trick
16:02for the movie.
16:02How did you play short?
16:04How did you do that?
16:05Because Margaret Qualley's tall.
16:06Margaret Qualley, Bobby's tall.
16:08They're all tall.
16:08But I thought about it like,
16:10well, what would Charlie Chaplin do?
16:11We didn't want to do, like, VFX.
16:13We want it to be old school.
16:15The movie needs to have soul
16:16or it's not any good, right?
16:18So any of the hair may...
16:19All those tricks don't mean anything
16:20if it doesn't have a soul to it.
16:22So we just did it
16:24the old-fashioned way,
16:25shot by shot.
16:25We did...
16:26You know, if they can make
16:26Humphrey Bogart look tall,
16:28they can make me look short.
16:30That's what I figured.
16:31So we did it.
16:31Angles?
16:32Angles?
16:33You know, sometimes we blocked
16:35the whole movie out
16:36and we could build a trench
16:37about a foot shorter
16:38for me to walk through.
16:40And we would, you know,
16:41we would raise the paintings up
16:42and the seats.
16:44Like, if we were in this,
16:45my bench would be lower
16:46than your bench.
16:47Right?
16:48You know, it was just
16:48little tricks all the time.
16:49But all that wasn't important,
16:52really, except for this is how
16:53he was the smallest person
16:55in every room
16:56and he was the biggest person
16:57in every room.
16:58He was the bravest
16:59and he was the most nervous
17:01and insecure.
17:02He was gay
17:04and in love with a woman.
17:05He was full of contradictions.
17:07Everything about him
17:08was complicated
17:09and that's what made the part
17:10so kind of thrilling to play.
17:12So many memorable scenes
17:12in it for me,
17:13but I remember...
17:14But there's a part
17:15where Oscar Hammerstein...
17:18Hammerstein comes into Sardi's
17:20and he's just jealous
17:21that he has a career
17:22and he's about to have
17:23another career without him.
17:24And I've just been
17:25bad-mouthing him
17:26for about 45 minutes.
17:27And the second I see him,
17:29I tell him he's a genius.
17:29Wonderful!
17:30Yeah, it was a great role.
17:31It was just so well.
17:32We've never been like that.
17:34Never.
17:35We've never been disingenuous.
17:36Of course not.
17:37But it was just so well done
17:39and you just kind of
17:40see it all unfold
17:42and I just didn't want it to end
17:43and you really took this
17:44and ran with it.
17:45And I got to say, buddy,
17:46another home run,
17:48kick-ass performance
17:49from Ethan Hawke.
17:50I mean, phenomenal.
17:52I want to show a clip.
17:53Here's Ethan Hawke
17:55in Blue Moon.
17:56Take a look.
17:57So, uh,
17:58you up for that?
17:58You feeling healthy?
17:59Is that something
17:59you could take seriously?
18:00Yeah.
18:01No, I'm on the wagon.
18:02Take, I'm serious.
18:04I've been drinking ginger ale
18:06all night.
18:06Well, except for this second
18:08because this second
18:08we have to celebrate.
18:10This is the greatest musical
18:11in the history
18:12of American theater.
18:13No, no, no.
18:14I'm not drinking
18:14with you, Larry.
18:15Okay, okay.
18:16All right.
18:17Ouija, Ouija,
18:18shoot this, huh?
18:20What?
18:21Oh, no.
18:21No, no, no.
18:22Larry, I got it.
18:22Rogers and Hart,
18:23together again.
18:25All right, closer.
18:26Come on, closer.
18:30I want ten copies of that.
18:32Great.
18:32Write me a check.
18:34Oof.
18:38Ethan Hawke, everybody.
18:40That's right.
18:41Blue Moon is available

20:06I think it's the most guest
20:07we've ever had
20:08on one couch.
20:09It's very exciting.
20:10You are a global girl group
20:13who went through
20:14the K-pop training system.
20:16For people that may not
20:18be familiar with what this is,
20:19what is that system?
20:20What is that training?
20:22Well, for those
20:23who don't know us,
20:23hey, everyone,
20:24we're Catside.
20:25Yeah, that's right.
20:28And we are
20:29a global girl group
20:31that was formed
20:31through the K-pop methodology,
20:33the training program.
20:34It was, we went
20:35through a competition
20:35to form us.
20:36It was called
20:37Popstar Academy.
20:38And we bonded a lot
20:40over that whole journey.
20:42There were missions,
20:42there was global voting,
20:43and in the end,
20:44it was the six of us.
20:45So it's a huge honor
20:47to be here on
20:47The Tonight Show
20:48so early on in our career.
20:49Thank you for that.
20:51I'm honored to have you on.
20:53You have put your time in
20:55just over the past two years.
20:58A lot has happened.
20:59Last year,
21:00you went on
21:00your first headlining tour.
21:02You won a VMA.
21:04You received
21:05two Grammy nominations.
21:08And like I said,
21:09you were named
21:09TikTok's Global Artist
21:10of the Year.
21:11Not too shabby.
21:15I gotta say,
21:16you performed
21:17at the Grammys
21:18last weekend.
21:19I gotta say,
21:19you stole the show.
21:20I don't care.
21:22You were unbelievable.
21:26People were talking.
21:28Look at you.
21:28You look like superheroes.
21:30Oh, my gosh.
21:31Oh, my gosh.
21:32You're the best.
21:33You look like a girl group.
21:34You were unbelievable.
21:35And I don't know
21:35if you could tell,
21:36but everyone was just
21:37staring at you
21:38from the crowd.
21:38You can't tell
21:39because you were
21:39probably performing,
21:40but on TV,
21:41they were cutting to,
21:41like,
21:41Billie Eilish.
21:43People were like,
21:43what?
21:44What's going on?
21:45These guys are great.
21:46They were freaking out.
21:47Were you nervous at all
21:48to get up there
21:49in front of your idols?
21:52We were so nervous.
21:53Who?
21:53Who made you nervous?
21:54Billie Eilish.
21:56Wait.
21:57Lady Gaga?
21:57Bad Bunny.
21:58Oh, my gosh.
22:01Bad Bunny and Miley Cyrus
22:02were dead center.
22:03Miley Cyrus.
22:05Yes.
22:05Dead center.
22:06And like...
22:06Hannah Montana?
22:07Oh, really?
22:09Were you all
22:09Hannah Montana fans?
22:10Yes.
22:11Yeah, me too.
22:12Yeah, yeah.
22:13Yes, I am.
22:14I'm a giant,
22:15but she's the coolest.
22:16Was there anyone else
22:17that you wanted to meet
22:17or you met that you...
22:18Oh, my gosh.
22:19Oh, my gosh.
22:20Oh, I met...
22:22I've got to say hi
22:24to Rose from Blackpink.
22:28She's cool.
22:29Yes.
22:30I've been, like,
22:31a huge fan of Blackpink
22:33since I was, like,
22:36nine years old.
22:37Oh, my gosh.
22:38So, when I met her,
22:39like, I really wanted
22:40to speak in Korean,
22:42but I was so nervous
22:43that I couldn't even talk.
22:46So, I was just like,
22:47hi, nice to meet you.
22:48Oh, my gosh.
22:49What did she say?
22:50She was like,
22:51oh, can you speak Korean?
22:53Wait, what?
22:54You're like, I can,
22:55but I was not choosing to now.
22:56Yeah, she said.
23:00And, yeah, she was so sweet.
23:02Yes.
23:02She was so nice.
23:03Come on.
23:05You put out a song
23:06earlier this year,
23:07by the way.
23:07I love, uh,
23:09Gabrielle is my jam.
23:10That's...
23:12I love it.
23:13I love it.
23:14But does that mean
23:14there's going to be
23:15more music from you guys
23:16from Cat's Eye
23:17later this year?
23:18Yes.

23:30that are so exciting.
23:31All right, please.
23:32Well, the door is open.
23:33Please come back whenever.
23:35I was thinking
23:36it might be fun
23:37if you each gave us
23:38one word to describe
23:39your new music,
23:40if you just went down
23:41the couch and told us.
23:43Sophia, do you want
23:44to kick us off?
23:45One word, one word.
23:46Or you can do more.
23:47It's up to you.
23:48I think a word
23:49I would say is colorful.
23:52Okay.
23:54Um, I think I would say
23:56energetic.
23:58I would say hot.
24:03Um, I would say fun.
24:07Yeah.
24:09I would say fierce.
24:10There's a gesture, though.
24:12That makes the most sense.
24:13We're going to do
24:13a little gesture.
24:15Yes.
24:15Ready?
24:16What's the gesture?
24:17Ooh.
24:19Oh.
24:20Some tea?
24:23Oh, a little tea?
24:26Ooh.
24:27No big deal.
24:28All right.

29:57Uh...
29:59Uh...
29:59Uh...
30:00Uh, take us back
30:00to the record-breaking moment
30:02last month.
30:03I mean, what was the feeling like
30:04to take down, uh, Joe Burrow
30:07and, uh, secure the record there.
30:09You're going in what?
30:10You have 22 sacks?
30:1222.
30:13And you're going in.
30:14It's the last game.
30:15Yep.
30:15Of the season.
30:16Mm-hmm.
30:16If you don't get a sack,
30:18you don't break the record.
30:19You're...
30:19I don't break it this year.
30:22Yeah.
30:23We were gonna break it regardless.
30:25Uh, you...
30:26So you didn't get any...
30:27You didn't have any doubts?
30:28No.
30:29Wow.
30:29And what does it feel like
30:30when you go, like...
30:31Do you just know when you have the fast break,
30:32or whatever it's called?
30:33What do you call it?
30:34The get-off?
30:34Good get-off?
30:35Yeah.
30:36A get-off?
30:36A good get-off?
30:37Yeah.
30:37You have a good get-off and...
30:38It's like someone...
30:40You see a hole that no...
30:41Or you see the timing of the snap?
30:43Timing of the snap, looking at the ball.
30:45You get off and you can just...
30:46Your eyes flicker and you see the tackle
30:49and you're like,
30:49I'm already even with him.
30:50Oh, it's over.
30:51What does it feel like?
30:53There's no better feeling in the world.
30:54I mean, other than this, it's been great.
30:56No, I didn't.
30:59I got to say, one thing that went viral
31:03is your dad was there to watch you.
31:05Yep.
31:06And what went viral is your dad brought
31:07a pretty big camera to the game.
31:10It might have been my lens.
31:12Dude, that's a giant...
31:14Does he work for Sports Illustrator or something?
31:16He was trying out.
31:17He was trying out.
31:18So talk to me about this.
31:19Where was your dad and where was he sitting?
31:21And why did he need that big zoom lens?
31:23And what's...
31:24I mean, I don't really look for him during the game,
31:26but I did see the photo after the game.
31:28And I'm like, there's no way he brought
31:29that big old, like, 600-millimeter lens.
31:34And didn't get the shot.
31:35He... Wait.
31:36No.
31:37He didn't get the shot?
31:38He didn't get the shot.
31:39What? Why?
31:40Boy, this is hilarious.
31:42Superstitious.
31:43Family's like, yo, there's five minutes left.
31:45He's got to get it.
31:46And they do this, like, little orientation thing.
31:48It's like, all right, you go here.
31:49I go here. We sit down.
31:50So he's going to get it.
31:51Like, we're going to bring some energy to him.
31:53And they were mid one of those
31:55and had one of those good get-offs.
31:57Met with Joe.
31:57We talked, and he didn't have the camera.
32:00He didn't get the camera.
32:02He didn't get the shots.
32:04Dad, we love you, man.
32:05That's so funny that he brought that.
32:07He's awesome.
32:08He's a good dude.
32:12The Super Bowl is going to be Sunday,
32:14this Sunday, right here in NBC.
32:16I'm just going to put you on the spot.
32:17Who do you think is going to win?
32:19Seattle City.
32:22That fast, really?
32:23That fast?
32:25It's just my belief.
32:26I think they're just a more well-rounded team.
32:29Those guys have a great defense,
32:30and I side with defense, usually.
32:32I want to show whatever I'm talking about here.
32:35Here's some of Miles' best sacks of the season.
32:37Take a look.
32:38With the play clock at one.
32:40Jackson, pressure's coming.
32:41Wow.
32:41And Miles Garrett spins him down this season.
32:44From the sixth, May, on the run, and sacked.
32:52Play action on first down.
32:54Lamar, pressure coming, and he's sacked again.
32:58First down.
32:59Burrow, he's under pressure, he's sacked.
33:02And there it is, a record that has stood nearly a quarter of a century
33:07as a new leader.
33:10Well done, bud.
33:15Congratulations.
33:17You're fun to watch.
33:18Is there a key to properly sacking a quarterback?
33:21What is the...
33:22Absolutely.
33:23Get off is the first main key.
33:24Yep.
33:24If you don't get off, you don't have anything.
33:26And then you have to beat the hands, and you got to finish
33:28at the midline of the quarterback.
33:30Can't be too high, can't be too low.
33:32Could you maybe show me just a tip right now?
33:34Could you show me just a tip right now?
33:47You don't have to take that off.
33:52Oh, my God.
33:54All right, what do I...
33:55What am I going to try to do?
33:57I'm trying to block you?
33:59Yeah.
34:01What would be...
34:02This is so...
34:03By the way, this is so intimidating to be...
34:06You guys don't even know what this feels like.
34:08How tall are you?
34:106'5".
34:10And how much do you weigh?
34:13Around 275.
34:14You can just go ahead and just like...
34:15I would just let you tackle.
34:17I go, I'm sorry, my quarterback.
34:19All right, so what do I...
34:20All right, so would he go down?
34:22Oh, my gosh.
34:23We go down.
34:24Oh, my gosh.
34:25This is...
34:26Go.
34:28Yes!
34:32Dude, dude, you went like...
34:35Yeah.
34:35Of course.
34:37Do you want to let me try to...
34:38Give it your best shot.
34:43What if I tell you what way I'm going to go?
34:46Oh, then you have to...
34:47It doesn't matter.
34:48It doesn't matter, it doesn't matter, yeah.
34:50Oof, oof.
34:59Miles Garrett, everybody!
35:03Miles is up for Defensive Player of the Year tomorrow night
35:06at the NFL Honors, which is on NBC and Peacock at 9 p.m.

35:49I think my hair stopped
35:50growing. Is that it
35:52ain't a thing?
35:55Haven't lost any of it
35:56but something ain't the same.
36:00Maybe
36:00it's a metaphor.
36:02Is it even that deep?
36:05I think my hair
36:06stopped growing.
36:08Or is it me?
36:10I called Phil a couple
36:12times. He's probably sick of me.
36:16You say go easy on yourself
36:18but what does that even mean?
36:22Sounds
36:22like good advice but
36:24I just can't
36:27hear you right now.
36:30Hit me like a gun
36:32punch. I have my
36:34own feelings. How did
36:37I get so good at being
36:39hit me to myself?
36:41I should turn the heat down.
36:44Tell myself to chill out.
36:47Damn, I really hate the way you talk to myself.
36:52Hit me like a...
37:05When I had it, I still trying to be perfect.
37:08People pleasing, is it ever really worth it?
37:10Face smiling just to pass the time.
37:13It's the only way I've been getting mine.
37:15Looked at myself and I can't even recognize who I am behind.
37:22Those eyes won't be disguised.
37:25Hit me like a gun punch.
37:28Hit me like a gun punch.
37:28I hurt my own feelings.
37:30I hurt my own feelings.

37:36I should turn the heat down.
37:39Tell myself to chill out.
37:42Damn, I really hate the way you talk to myself.
37:47Hit me like a gun.
37:49Now, what would it be like if I just tried being nice to the person that I'm seeing in the
37:58mirror?
37:59Yeah.
38:00If you find that in a child, haven't seen him for a while, let him know he's doing fine.
38:09Hit me like a gun punch.
38:11I hurt my own feelings.
38:14How did I get so good at being mean to myself?
38:19I should turn the heat down.
38:23Tell myself to chill out.
38:25Damn, I really hate the way you talk to myself.
