00:00The next 12 weeks will be the toughest of your life.
00:05Lord Sugar is on the hunt for the next big thing.
00:08This is an opportunity of a lifetime.
00:12Battling for his backing, some of Britain's brightest prospects.
00:16Come on, boys. Look at that. Your life depends on it.
00:20And then hit him.
00:21It's a deal worth fighting for.
00:23I can sense a bit of friction. Absolutely.
00:25Daniel, was that on you? No.
00:26I was joking then.
00:28Twenty candidates.
00:30I've never been kicked in the balls by a goat, to be honest with you.
00:33Twelve tough tasks.
00:35This is a complete and utter joke.
00:39Just jump straight in.
00:40One life-changing opportunity.
00:42You're fired. You're fired.
00:44You've completely messed it up. You're fired.
00:55Previously on The Apprentice.
00:57Five seconds, guys.
00:58Teams went live to the nation.
01:00This is not easy.
01:02Oh, my God. None sold.
01:04Pasha's sales squad took the win.
01:06Totalling £893.60.
01:09Last defence.
01:10And on the losing team, Levi...
01:12You were really painful to watch.
01:14...and Connor...
01:15You're fired.
01:16...were taken off air.
01:18While Kieran...
01:19Do you know you've been in the losing team five times?
01:21I would like to be the project manager on Task 10.
01:23You got it.
01:24...made his own deal of the day.
01:26So, if I lose, I walk.
01:27Wow.
01:28Fawzi.
01:365am.
01:37Hello, this is Krishma.
01:39Good morning.
01:40Lord Sugar would like you to make your way to Rocker Gallery in West London.
01:44The cars will be outside in 30 minutes.
01:47Okay.
01:50Everybody!
01:51We need to be out...
01:53Boys!
01:54We need to be at Rocker Gallery London in 30 minutes.
01:58Ria!
02:00Give us five more minutes, we'll be away.
02:02I know your mum is not my job to come back in five minutes.
02:09Obviously, I've got a VPN.
02:10Yeah?
02:11You put yourself out there.
02:12You in?
02:13You're straight through to the final five.
02:14Please.
02:15You walk, mate.
02:16Ugh.
02:16It's the rules.
02:19Cannot believe it is the last task.
02:22I know.
02:23This is the one that determines the final five, yo.
02:32It feels like all eyes are going to be on Kieran today after his brave and bold move in the
02:37boardroom.
02:37Yeah.
02:37There's a lot of pressure being on his team.
02:39I mean, it's always a losing team when he's around.
02:42He was.
02:43Near the banks of the Thames, Rocker London Gallery.
02:49A high-end hub for design and innovation.
02:57good morning you're standing in the rocker gallery built to showcase the latest trends
03:05in high-end design and that is exactly what your next task is all about now the uk spends an
03:12astonishing nine billion pounds a year on products for their pets i want you to take a bite out of
03:21that market so you're going to come up with a new pet lifestyle brand design an innovative pet product
03:29and create a social media video and then tomorrow you'll pitch your product to a room full of
03:35retailers the team that secures the most orders will win and on the losing team at least one of
03:42you will be going for walkers lord sugar's asked me to tell you that this is an important task because
03:49after this it's the final five and there are seven of you so two from the losing team will be
03:56fired
03:56so give it your all everything clear yeah good luck and off you go
04:05teams have two days to perfect a product for pets before trying to tempt buyers tomorrow
04:12first job we're all there in the boardroom it's uh win or walk
04:16so um i'll be leading this one for you guys work out who's top dog final task before interviews
04:24who wants to be pm well i'm going to put myself forward guys just off the bat obviously i love
04:31pets and i also worked at pets at home that was my first job when i was 17 um so
04:36yeah guys i would
04:38also like to put myself forward as pm as a dog owner i know what dogs love i've had german
04:43shepherds
04:43growing up and now i also have a shih tzu so i've had big dogs small dogs um i i
04:48can speak dog i can
04:50speak dog as well but people call me the dog whisperer i've got a cockapoo i had a lab rescued
04:56a
04:56shih tzu i've also had a cat cats and dogs horses all of it guys i want to create something
05:01for dogs
05:02that's the direction i want to take this with i've thought it through and i would love to be your
05:06project manager for this one guys oh wow both of you guys have you know pets like you know have
05:12dogs and you know that stuff but i'm my vote's with kharishma for this one yeah my vote's going to
05:17be
05:17with kharishma as well being project manager on week 10 is a huge risk however i have such a clear
05:23vision for this task like it could not have been any more catered for me and i have no doubt
05:29that me
05:29and my team can win this i'm so excited thank you guys for voting me in and kieran's going home
05:36on the other team there is also a big demand for cats products at the moment it's growing as well
05:41it's a growing market project manager kieran so let's go with cats scratches round for inspiration
05:50i've never had a cat have you ever had cats so i'm going to be really honest with you guys
05:54um i
05:55have a bit of a fear of pet right what will your thoughts be on cat bed i've never had
06:03a pet in my
06:03life so it's a bit my knowledge of it is not great i think we need to look at so
06:08cat trees
06:09yep it'd be used to for exercise for the cats so in terms of that what we're thinking um okay
06:18anything
06:18come into mind i'm not a huge fan of animals and going down the cat route was quite risky if
06:27i'm
06:27honest i think nobody knows enough about cats and so whether that comes to bite us later on or not
06:32we'll find out we could even make it look like a tree it could just be brown brown trunk green
06:38grass
06:39well the tree idea i like it because people have house plants right so why not have a tree
06:50across the hall me and pasha i know for a fact we speak to our dogs we go hey baby
06:54good morning
06:55are you hungry planning to pounce on a winning idea now imagine if you had the power to leave your
07:01dog
07:01voice notes project manager karishma in my head okay there's a dog bed right
07:08right and dog owners communicate and leave like little voice messages for their dogs my dog would
07:14absolutely love that and i can already tell you that i would buy that bed that's this is why we
07:18have
07:18our experts i've got a very clear idea of what i want this to look like i think we should
07:22go down
07:23the luxury market loads of people that invest in dogs they have the money to spend on dogs you know
07:28i would sell my kidney for my dog to have the nicest bed those like fluffy materials so that's a
07:34huge
07:34thing to think about yeah it needs to look expensive from the logo to the bed itself yeah
07:40team alpha seems to have fallen on their feet karishma and pasha have got all the experience you
07:45could want with regards to pets having had dogs their whole life there's really no excuse now
07:51because they've got to deliver the logo needs to be minimalistic and chic like i thought of maison
07:55which means house of dog i do like french yeah sure vibes i think that this high-end but it's
08:01also
08:01premium perfect you'd sort of have a pod here with a little window for quiet time set on creating a
08:11winning cat tree we can then have the branches where you have the dangly fun bits kieran's team
08:17you can dangle bits of fruit off them you could dangle a squirrel a squirrel of it
08:23um in regards to the team split for me i think because i feel like you have a better idea
08:27of
08:28how you want the trees to look i think personally it would be good for you to go into the
08:32design
08:33i agree i'm not gonna lie to you and i hope you don't in the same way working with you
08:36attention
08:37to detail sometimes can be missed and i feel like i'd add that okay um dan how would you feel
08:43about
08:43um doing the branding i mean i'm really easy going in terms of the branding make it look friendly
08:50nice inviting something like that rothner told kieran that he really lacks attention to detail
08:58and i can see what she's talking about he hasn't given any direction to dan at all i mean inviting
09:04friendly and nice i mean what kind of brief is that so the design team is myself and lawrence
09:10and my branding team is pasha and priesh we're gonna put pasha sub team leader let's win this
09:16let's win it perfect come on let's do it let's go 10 a.m teams divide half will sink their
09:24claws into
09:24branding the brief this morning was so clear it's luxury we know what krishma wants yeah um and you
09:31know we're gonna add that element of a french twist to the name yeah while the rest design products
09:36aimed at furry friends i genuinely want you to get this win after your little ballsy claim i want
09:42the win really badly i need it yeah otherwise it's home time for me the royal college of art
09:51base for both product design teams i'm kieran nice to meet you good to meet you tim unleashing her
09:57creativity so if we like do like a rough sketch if we imagine it looking almost like a realistic
10:03sofa project manager karishma over here somewhere there needs to be a speaker so the audio can
10:08come out and then we have a cushion right on team cat so our plan is essentially to make it
10:15look like
10:15a tree branching out so one stem two branches coming off with seating areas yeah and then a main pod
10:22at
10:22the top which is then branched over estate agent kieran we're gonna have a mouse running around the
10:28artificial grass on discs and then we can have additional little things on that dangle wait what
10:33do cats like do you have any idea because i'm not actually sure what do they have like anything and
10:37everything or i don't my knowledge on that is very little so then i don't want we've got the
10:43retailers to say they like cheese that's mouse right yeah mouse love cheese but the cat will be at the
10:52top chilling why would you oh yeah what does a cat like uh what toys can cats don't really like
10:59to play
11:00with many toys to be honest um apple um fruit fits in with tree they just love i think stick
11:07with the
11:08fruit like that so basically just apple and a banana west london at creative agency rpm chic canines or
11:22chic lachian karishma's branding crew i feel like with what christmas said this morning chic lachian is
11:30very bougie that is a luxury brand search for a name with pedigree chic lachian chic is very much
11:39like paris chic it's very like elegant the only thing is as a normal person would they get what that
11:48means if you're walking down the dog section yeah of course if you don't know french then you're not
11:52you're not going to know it and like that to me sounds like a fancy french restaurant or something
11:57i don't speak french at all but chic is a very well-known word it's elegant right
12:05let's just because i know that obviously time is not going to be on our side so chic
12:10lachian yeah just to confirm the brand name is going to be chic lachian
12:15the team wanted to add a bit of french flair to make their dog bed feel high-end
12:20but neither passion or priya speak french and they're spelt chic incorrectly
12:25there's nothing chic about that i think if we can have the sheet bigger than the lesheen
12:30yeah like that perfect
12:35across the hall i do really like oh my katya i think that's quite an edgy name for like a
12:40new
12:41pet brand coming to market flying solo on feline branding dan
12:48just got to go with my gut feeling and go with what i think is going to be great so
12:53what what
12:54i would like it to look like i'd like it to be quite like bold that one on the far
12:57right there
12:59and then a huge exclamation mark at the end like a brand
13:03could we do something that looks something like this goes from large to small and large again
13:07mm-hmm something like this shape yeah i'm trying to not just think about one product i'm trying to
13:12think of like a whole brand name and conception i'd like to see it with maybe two bold lines underneath
13:17the actual lettering ah yeah and then i'd like to start playing around with some colors if that's okay
13:23maybe like a racing green and if i could just duplicate that whole thing because i want to switch
13:27it around i just want to see some ideas come to life i think this is quite a turning point
13:33for
13:34dan dan who's very corporate who plays it safe who never takes any risks he's come up with something
13:39quite catchy in terms of the name the logo design isn't terrible i mean he's taking ownership i like
13:46that can you zoom in on this third one at the bottom left this one yeah i think that one
13:52is my final
13:55masterpiece
13:57two p.m so we've got a design we've got a logo catching up the final uh name is chic
14:07le chien team
14:08dog okay awesome um can i just double check the spelling of chic le chien so it is uh sorry
14:17c h i q u e
14:21that's not the spelling of chic when something looks chic and stylish we say c h i c c h
14:28i c really
14:30i thought chic was c h i q u e chic but that might just be the way i'm feeling
14:36it might just be like
14:37slang so i'm now i'm actually not sure but i'm just going to be positive and that that is a
14:42french way of
14:43spelling the word shake uh thank you guys so much well done bye bye i'm not gonna lie i know
14:51it's a
14:51stupid question but i would not spell chic this way i personally i don't speak french i wouldn't
14:56have used a word that i can't speak or you know i know myself do you know how would you
15:01usually spell
15:02it so it would be c h i c c h i c oh like chic like chic okay fine
15:08i don't actually know that makes sense
15:11if they spelt the first word of our logo incorrectly pasha and priesh have made a huge
15:16mistake a huge mistake that is not something that we can just you know sweep over it's the name of
15:21the brand i think we'd best be positive move on and yeah we'll see how it looks tomorrow
15:28design deadline looming the last thing we need to give tim the measurement of
15:33is the height of this stone for kieran's cat tree so that's minimum 90 needs to be double that
15:41finishing touches i think 1.5 to get what we want you don't want to go too tall because people's
15:49apartments or houses might not the room might not be that tall it did trust me i wouldn't 1.6
15:54meters
15:55high from 1.6 from the floor to the top of the tree wait wait can you discuss this with
16:01me before
16:01you do that is that too tall no no no that's not big enough i think you're getting very large
16:06that's
16:06as tall as me and most house plants are as tall as me this is what that's the that's the
16:11vision
16:12just okay trust me okay i'm not trust me every time kieran measures his tree he adds more height to
16:22it
16:22or more width i mean at this stage you're going to need a palace to put this thing in i
16:27mean it's huge
16:29well if i'm going to stick to it because we need to get on the stairs let's increase this to
16:331800
16:36okay on the other team our body of the sofa will be this fleece material in the beige yeah laying
16:42out
16:43her vision for their luxury dog bed the cushion itself will be this sherpa faux fur leader of the pack
16:51karishma the whole point of this is for owners to be able to communicate with their dogs and leave
16:55a nice message beautiful so if you write a rough script for this keep it short and sweet and this
17:00would be activated by yeah sound like an ambulance going past fireworks something like that the dog
17:04would feel safe okay fine i think it's it's a clear vision that we should work with i don't think
17:09that
17:10trying to reinvent it from my side for the sake of looking busy is a good idea we're gonna say
17:14hey baby
17:14i miss you and then we'll do kisses yeah yeah exactly hey baby i miss you i'm running late but
17:21i'll be home soon love you so much see you soon bye
17:26karishma is doing what karishma does best coming up with ideas and leading from the front but this
17:31product's usp is pretty bold it's a talking dog bed and nobody is challenging her i hope the buyers are
17:38as convinced by it as the team are is that great or what it's a one take one it's just
17:42the authenticity
17:43of it 4 p.m i think i do prefer for pawsome friends it's quite a nice tagline brand spilt
17:52letting them hear and feel you when you can't feel them yeah it's a bit long is it designs signed
17:58off
17:59as a dog owner i would pay for that tomorrow try to get buyers to bite
18:098am i hope you like it it's quite an edgy logo that i did i mean it's definitely eye-catching
18:14yeah i
18:15like i like it hoping their branding can fetch them a win actually really like the logo it's classy
18:21i love the paw print team dog if you can promise me that that is the correct spelling of the
18:26word
18:26it can be spelled either way yeah i trust that and i'm ready to move on with that and then
18:30we've got
18:31the tagline which is um um what's the first word it is letting them letting them hear and feel you
18:42when you can't feel them so i obviously do think the tagline is a bit lengthy yeah you know
18:49most well-known brands go for a small one a little one i'm not gonna lie it's very long
18:56the whole point of a tagline is to be memorable and in this case the people who made it couldn't
19:00even remember it i asked priesh and pasha what's the tagline and they both couldn't remember so for
19:05me it's it's a very big mistake on their part if during the pitch today i forget it someone step
19:10in
19:11and say it because i i just don't think i'll remember it across the hall right the big unveil okay
19:18i'm
19:18excited the moment of truth wow okay for kieran's cat tree wow i think this is awesome yeah i i
19:33i
19:33do find that the dome the more i look at it is pretty huge thanks babe i didn't realize it'd
19:39have
19:39such a huge surface area it's quite big i'm not sure how many houses this would fit in unless you
19:45have
19:46a huge house yeah but how do customers take it home would they pick it up in the shop can
19:51you fit
19:51it in a car quite easily just order online the overall size of the product i mean it's huge and
20:00i think especially if you are selling to consumers where they've got typically smaller flats especially
20:05in london i mean where the hell are you going to put the thing so how's the cat going to
20:10get in here
20:17for the other team right oh oh i like this karishma's talking dog bed hey baby i miss you i'm
20:28running
20:28late but i'll be home soon love you so much see you soon bye oh i love the one take
20:35wonder from
20:35karishma as well so this is going to be audio activated any loud bang an ambulance knock on the
20:41door hey baby i miss you i'm running late but i'll be home soon love you so much see you
20:47soon bye
20:49also last minute change that i suggested we initially started with a round bed yeah then i was like hey
20:54baby
20:54i miss you i'm running late but i'll be home soon love you so much see you soon bye all
21:01right so
21:01obviously it does go off with quite sensitive sounds hey baby i miss you i'm running late but i'll be
21:07home
21:07soon love you so much see you soon bye that's really annoying if it keeps going off so guys you
21:13know
21:13today's a big busy day we've got the pitch hey baby i miss you i'm just going to switch that
21:17off
21:18love you so much see you soon bye all right and it's off 10 a.m so we're obviously gonna
21:26do a
21:26social media video today i'll go to consumer research get all the information before shooting their viral
21:36videos for half of each team a master class in content creation i've created quite a lot of social
21:42media content over the years with my pets what have you got i've got cats perfect from social media
21:49supremo zara mcdermott some of my top tips are hook the viewer in the first three seconds could you ask
21:58a question does your cat do this does your dog do this another tip i've got is about humor humor
22:04cells
22:05that could be a really good way to increase engagement
22:10west london who of you likes the brand name six out of six okay that's really promising
22:17for team moggy so uh let's go and take a closer look at the product market research
22:25oh my god yeah it's very tree very i live in a studio flat this is way too big for
22:37studio flats
22:38for my cat to jump from here to this platform and then to come around in here i think that
22:46would
22:46be quite tough for her yeah i hear your thoughts a million dollar question is just a raise of hands
22:51would you buy this for your cats sorry oh flippin hell
23:01they just didn't really like the product at all it wasn't really fit for purpose
23:05it was a very similar thought to what i had this morning with it being too tall
23:08how's the cat going to be able to jump up there and get out on the upside they love the
23:12brand name
23:13they love the logo and so i'm feeling like i did a great job
23:18oh okay so i'm gonna write that they can successfully jump out
23:26across town now tagline is letting them here and feel you
23:32when you can't feel them barking up the wrong tree from the tagline do you understand what the product
23:39would be not a cliche okay priesh and lawrence so obviously our name is called chic that she so
23:49chic is another word for like classy glamour yeah it's just like a you know like you say something
23:53um yes i think we're all familiar with the term chic but i've never seen it spelt like that i
24:00don't
24:00understand that at all chic is part of my everyday vocabulary yeah i'm french i think it's spelled
24:06ch ic and you should have it the other way around so le chien chic wrong way around okay so
24:14welcome to
24:14our dog bed you can record your voice and it will play that recording to sort of give the dog
24:19that sense
24:19of calm if you are not in the house and they hear you they will look for you i agree
24:25i think i would
24:25freak out the dogs more than anything okay so would you recommend this product to a friend no
24:31no uh would you guys buy this product no no do you like the idea of the audio function is
24:36it something
24:36you would use no none of you that was honestly unfortunately a car crash being shown up by spelling
24:44the name wrong by someone that's from france really embarrassing and the product very few positives
24:50on that side as well i think spinning that's going to be really really tough we are in a really
24:55bad place with that feedback just we disappointed yeah i very much so i was literally yeah carnage
25:00car crash i don't know what to call it chic less yeah oh back at the house all right three
25:09two one
25:10action i'll be with you soon bye girl who's that he sounds cute while karishma and pasha shoot their viral
25:17video brown eyes blonde hair he's at home waiting for me so i just thought i'd leave him a cute
25:24little
25:24message chasing their tails what are the chances of getting him on a podium
25:33rosner and kieran could we get a shot of his head poking out of this yeah that tree is really
25:39freaked
25:39him out with their star on strike right now we have to pivot we don't have much to go off
25:46of
25:47a change of direction i was thinking what might be cool for you to walk in on the camera and
25:51be like
25:51guys look at this my cat never goes out into the nature watch me bring the nature indoors
25:56we need like loads of ideas just so that when we're editing because obviously this is wasted time we
26:00can't just stand around yeah yeah just like a lot of energy does anyone else's cat do this just sits
26:06at the window but never actually wants to go outside i am getting super nervous super stressed things
26:13aren't going exactly how i planned but we've pivoted and i'm ready to make it happen
26:20we're the one who wanted to trade brilliant okay yes kieran smile while you're doing that perfect
26:303 pm ahead of the pitches hi everyone hi i'm good for both teams do you want to hear the
26:39bad news or the
26:40good news first let's go bad yeah a chance to check in none of them would buy the product none
26:46of them
26:46they said it was too tall not very accessible for the cats good news is is that they love the
26:51brand
26:51name the tagline they said it was really catchy i mean i love the branding because i because i created
26:56it
26:57for team dog i'm gonna be honest with you it was really bad the consumer feedback reality bites
27:04zero out of six understood what it did can you be a bit more specific in terms of like what
27:09what did
27:09what so zero out of six knew what the product was based okay that's fine unfortunately the word we
27:15had a french guy there and the word chic is spelt wrong it isn't spelt wrong no it is it
27:20is and it's
27:20in the wrong order as well it should be lachian chic they just said oh no i've never seen it
27:25like that
27:25before so we just have to listen to what they said in terms of the bed none of them liked
27:29the audio and they
27:30basically said it would freak out the dog and that was pretty much the feedback across the board i don't
27:35want to hear none of that yeah that's negative it's put me in a bad mood and take a deep
27:38breath in
27:39take a deep breath out and drop it because i have a dog she has a dog and we thought
27:43it was nice
27:46pitching time my neck is on the line here so let's get in there let's smash it and let's get
27:51some
27:51sales get that win come on okay waiting top dogs from the nation's biggest pet brands
27:58hands up if you love dogs oh amazing hoping to win over buyers with her luxury dog bed and do
28:06we have
28:06any furniture lovers in the room just the one everybody else sleeps on the carpet charisma i've
28:13had dogs my entire life i know what they love and i know what they love to feel and i
28:17said how do we make
28:18this connection between the human and the dog close up this is not just any sofa bed this is a
28:25literal
28:26talking sofa bed you can create a personalized message for your dog so that when you're away
28:31from the home any sound that may be disturbing they trigger the sound of your soothing calming and
28:36familiar voice hey baby i miss you i'm running late but i'll be home soon love you so much see
28:42you soon
28:43bye dogs will love it the dog owners will love it i'm going to pass it over to pasha here
28:47my colleague
28:48who's going to tell you a bit more about our brand story now i'm hoping that you guys look at
28:54this
28:54and this gives you luxury the chic dog that is the goal the chic dog on the chic bed which
29:01is ultimately
29:02perfect if you like luxury if you like the higher things in life now you guys might be thinking chic
29:08is felt a little bit different to usual personally i feel like the normal spelling that you'd see of chic
29:13is a little bit more slang it's a different way of spelling it and i feel like it just brings
29:18out
29:18that extra pop of french elegance i don't think anyone here speaks french but ultimately this is for
29:26dogs and le chien means dog thank you thank you pasha so without further ado i'm gonna play our social
29:34media campaign video that we did today i would love to open the floor to any questions um i think
29:59the
30:00audio feature is really appealing i slightly worry that's going to be confusing for the dog perhaps
30:06over stimulate it rather than calm the dog down um science has proven that dogs like to sit on
30:12surfaces that smell like their owners science will hopefully soon prove that dogs like to listen to
30:17the voice of their owners when they're gone across town does anyone else's cat do this just sits at the
30:24window it doesn't actually go outside also hoping to impress kieran's cat crew as you can see uh we've
30:37created a one one of a kind cat tree we wanted to make this big just so it's it's more
30:45comfortable for
30:46your pet and our finished product definitely will catch eyes when you have visitors into your house
30:53and it will also blend away next to your house plants if you don't want it to be on show
30:58too much
30:59now i know it's quite literally a cat tree and there's a reason for that we thought why not bring
31:04a little bit of the nature indoors they want to have a little play around by themselves they can
31:08or they can go and have a little rest in there we'd love to open it up some questions uh
31:15to hear what
31:15you guys think so i was wondering about this size if you guys thought about like how customers could
31:22carry at home the item isn't the lightest i'll be completely honest so whether or not you can offer
31:29a delivery service or they can arrange for someone to pick it up separately that's on them however it is
31:37something that stands out makes people stop look and buy
31:44introductions over teams have one hour to tempt buyers into big orders hello hi james nice to
31:52me on team dog because you guys are a global brand what you're thinking around the like three
31:57thousand four thousand mark while lawrence and priesh fail to get a bite doesn't really match what our
32:04customer wants so we won't be placing an order with you pasha draws on her past connections
32:11i've actually worked at pets a home that was my first job four years ago when i was 17. i
32:17understand
32:17the area you your dog has anxiety this is a natural way of potentially calming your dog down have you
32:24got
32:24evidence that the owner's voice without the owner being present does do that we don't actually have
32:30this is such new technology there's mixed opinions we are waiting for there to be research on how
32:35dogs respond to this kind of audio i think i'm just questioning yeah sort of the problem you've
32:39identified and whether this is actually the right the right solution and on that basis we probably
32:44wouldn't be placing any orders okay i appreciate that but even just a few hundred units 100 200 we
32:52just think there's too big a gap between the evidence you've got and what this product can deliver
32:58it's a car crash to be honest with you the problem that we're coming up against is the
33:03practicality of the audio we're saying that it de-stresses animals but realistically we have no
33:08facts to prove that disappointing yeah we did our best let's move on to the next let's go to the
33:12next
33:13i've got much quicker with these ones across town it'd be great to hear a little bit about what you
33:18thought of it and um especially if you could see it in your in your stores also in talks with
33:23industry
33:24top cats dan we would be interested because we love innovative products and there is innovation there
33:30it's quite um unique to get a cat tree which is interactive we do sell a huge amount of cat
33:36trees
33:37every year and very much a test purchase for us we're about 2 000 units is there um like if
33:42we
33:42were to do an exclusivity deal with you guys is there a potential at most we might go to maybe
33:462300
33:47if it was exclusive yeah okay well um for exclusivity we need a few thousand more really um
33:53be delighted to accept your offer i will shake on two thousand orders okay thank you very much thank you
33:58i think dan's approach to pets at home one of the largest retailers here was very gentle very
34:03friendly i mean he secured an order of 2000 but far too quickly and if he did just kept pushing
34:08i'd be certain he'd got a much bigger number than he ended up with i think 2000 is good yeah
34:14they
34:14seem to genuinely love the product really well done on team dog is there anything we can do just to
34:21get
34:22sort of a trial order of maybe around the sort of thousand mark well pr man lawrence sells himself
34:28no our clients are really discerning i'm sorry but you're a good salesman thank you for us
34:34in talks with supermarket giant tesco we've done a great job making a product that makes dogs feel
34:40safer pasha and charisma dogs spend their whole lives serving us and we took this so personally
34:46how do we give back to the dog look obviously you guys are super passionate about the product and that
34:53kind of link on the audio is something we've never seen before because this is such new and futuristic
34:58technology we're hoping to push around 5000 units today closer to a thousand is what we were thinking
35:04this is going to be something that people want in their home as something that they love
35:07so could i push you more towards 3500 we could maybe push to 1300 units but that would be the
35:13max okay could i be super cheeky push for 1500 we'd be so happy it's a nice gorgeous round juicy
35:20number
35:21and we'd both leave very happy from this conversation that sounds like a deal perfect 1500 i love that and
35:27i know dogs around the country will love it too while karishma collars a deal on the other team i
35:34saw lots of
35:34lovely smiles from you lovely ladies i'm hoping it was all positive still to secure a single sale what
35:41did you think of the product ross now the weight of it is bothering us a lot the weight and
35:48the size you
35:49know i think we would need a forklift to a customer to lift it so you're right it's a little
35:55bit heavy
35:56i'm going to be honest with you for me it's about replicating nature trees are tall let's try and allow
36:01the cat to see how big nature truly is and then eventually they might be able to come out with
36:05you on walks you know but the other thing was that the cat would fall to get in wouldn't be
36:11able
36:11to get in stretch across to get into the bed why don't you try it out in each of your
36:17store and see
36:18if that is something that you feel like you could invest but our problem is the size but we wish
36:23you
36:23the very best thank you thank you very much thank you guys don't worry don't worry move on yeah about
36:30it we'll go to the next 20 minutes to go when i first saw it i thought it should have
36:37been in the
36:37vivarium because i was expecting a snake or a lizard to be up here for both teams the audio aspect
36:42for
36:42some dogs it might actually encourage them to search out their owner a final push for sales it's very
36:49very unique and very innovative we could take a small risk on maybe three no thank you okay thank
36:54you very much we absolutely love love love for you to believe in our product as much as we do
36:58because
36:59this would change dog lives i mean i think for today we're not looking to to place an order how
37:03how many
37:03would you guys book up to work as it is i believe none we love the concept but the product's
37:09not there yet
37:10your pros are it's good the kind feedback is lovely do you know what's lovelier a big order
37:16just one in a store could create a whole bundle of excitement online we'll go with 50. thank you
37:22very much no problem we were thinking something around sort of the 1500 mark we'll go to 1100
37:2711 final offer thank you very much i think that's a great pleasure thank you guys so much thank you
37:376 p.m we've done the best that we can i mean we've squeezed as much as we can out
37:41of them sales over
37:43it is a bit disappointing but i'm hoping that we did enough kieran wasn't the right project manager
37:48really for this task and you know if we do lose he's obviously sealed his fate but ultimately one
37:53of the person in his team is going to be walking home tomorrow as well we've done our best there
37:57was
37:57actually nothing more that we could have done yeah exactly if we lose tomorrow and i get brought back
38:02i am fighting fighting for my life bring it on because i'm sticking around
38:08tonight orders totted up tomorrow in the boardroom claws out
38:20one thing's for sure is that is anyone's going today i don't think anyone can call it either way like
38:25and you know what we've made it to task 10 we should all be very proud of ourselves not long
38:28now guys we find out that final fight the deal was win a walk what a comment that was in
38:36the
38:36heat of the moment you regret it or no if we haven't done enough i'll be regretting it
38:45i'm really nervous i gave it my all in this task and i just don't know what way it's gonna
38:51go
38:52i've definitely not come here to leave at the last hurdle i've come here to make an impact and
38:56i'm gonna make sure that this final boardroom i make it count this is the most stressed and
39:01i'm sure i've been before a boardroom and pm is week 10 it's literally go hard or go home
39:12you can go through to the boardroom now
39:27so this task was to design an accessory for a pet yeah so let's start with uh team alpha
39:40karishma uh you became the project manager yes and decided to make a dog bed yeah absolutely so we
39:49wanted to create something that fits into the realm of dog care and also furniture something people would
39:55accept in their living rooms as not just something for their dog but something that fits with the
40:00luxury theme that looks like a british airways first class seat actually at least it's first class yeah
40:07the main feature being the usp is the technology feature inside it's an audio feature which allows
40:13the owner's voice to be transmitted to the dog when the dog's at home alone so if there's a bang
40:18on the
40:18door fireworks an ambulance outside the audio feature would be triggered what about if i was to
40:24go hey baby i miss you i'm running late but i'll be home soon love you so much see you
40:30soon bye
40:30bye yeah that's it is it that's that's that's the voice yeah but you've got a dog is laying in
40:36there
40:36and like a bang of lightning or something like that might set it off yeah if it's loud enough yeah
40:43your your dog shitsues itself
40:48so who designed this thing so lawrence and i designed the product itself pasha and priesh went
40:55off to do the branding right and what's the branding so the name of our brand is called chic
41:01le chien and that basically means the chic dog she well it's a funny spelling isn't it um so i
41:11do
41:11believe that that is an alternating way of spelling chic um and it looks more french and the c-h
41:19-i-c
41:20was a bit more of a slang a slang spelling um but i just tried to back it up you
41:27remind me of del
41:27boy doing a bit of french you know that monji too yeah what's that can someone read out that tagline
41:35for me i can't see it so it's letting them hear and feel you when you can't feel them so
41:42it was
41:43incorporating the storyline and it's not as long isn't it long yeah it's longer than a dog lead
41:48yeah the idea of an advert or a logo is you know as you get it straight away yeah uh
41:54do i get that
41:56it's got anything to do with dogs no um anyway you then do a a social media um clip right
42:06and who did
42:07that that was pasha and myself right shall we see it hi girl who's that he sounds cute so brown
42:17eyes
42:30right so explain to me the rationale behind it so what we wanted was to create a girl's brunch
42:37they're talking about a boy he's got blonde hair he's got brown eyes the audience feels the dog that
42:42was the dog the whole time okay so then you go and do some consumer research who did that that
42:50was
42:50myself and priesh lord trigger and you had some bit of a negative feedback there didn't you yeah they
42:56didn't read out the product at all uh they said that the audio clip would freak out the dog hmm
43:01but out
43:02of the six how many would buy one zero that's very encouraging isn't it right let's go over to this
43:11other team eclipse now then kieran i remember you saying to me at the end of the last board meeting
43:18win or walk basically walkies yeah yeah uh i mean this is week 10 so you've used up your your
43:27nine lives
43:27yes okay tell me what happened so what our plan was to bring nature indoors because you get a lot
43:33of
43:33indoor house cats these days and dan's idea initially was the tree i think what we try to do
43:38is give cats a real nature feel to it because obviously they don't tend to go outside a lot i
43:43thought the cats do go outside they get lost and they don't come back i think that shows rothner's
43:48knowledge of cats i mean i tried cats don't go outside uh rothner you've got a fear of uh animals
43:54haven't you yeah i have a bit of a phobia but i was still excited for the task you're petrified
44:00i think i managed to conquer it a little bit she's done very well with the cat thank you
44:06anyway just tell me who designed this tree myself and rothner went to design the tree it's a bit big
44:12it was like you needed planning consent from the council you know um so the plan was obviously a
44:18lot of people have house plants so our thought was you know you've got a cat tree and a house
44:24plant
44:24why don't we combine the two it is large but then it's two items in one i did the thing
44:30that i i loved
44:31working with kieran but when it came down to sizing i did say to him multiple times is it going
44:36to be
44:36too big and he just kept saying trust me which i did trust in bigger bigger ones you kept adding
44:41more
44:41and more height to it it started off quite small and it ended up six foot yeah you won't miss
44:47it go
44:48big or go home right yeah stating the obvious you have to be a very very very athletic cat to
44:55get up
44:55the top there i disagree well did you get one to do it no let's let's work out how it
45:02split up
45:03then you were put on branding right yeah okay and the logo was oh my catty yeah and what's the
45:11what's the thing on the awesome friends well at least it's short isn't it um yeah and the market
45:18research wasn't very good was it i think yeah because we were chatting to a lot of people who
45:22were living in london they just said that they couldn't see this in their house just because it's
45:25too big um there were some positives from the consumer research in terms of the logo the brand name
45:32and the tagline i mean i suppose they loved that they did oh they loved yeah that was because
45:38that's your product that made you feel very very happy let's have a look at your social media
45:45does anyone else's cat do this just sits at the window but doesn't actually go outside
46:03it jumped a bit didn't it so so the story behind it is the cat's looking outside
46:10it can't go outside so we've brought nature inside and that's why you can see all the greening outside
46:14the window even with the cat i think you were quite disappointed that he wasn't behaving in the same
46:18way and time was running out and i just had to be like kieran we just need to pivot and
46:21i actually
46:21said kieran do what we can right okay how was the project manager was he like a loose cannon or
46:28what
46:28i think he was he had really great ideas but i feel like he ran he runs behaving like chairman
46:34meow
46:35the tough part of working with kieran was that he has a lot of great ideas but he's going
46:40at a thousand miles per hour yeah well okay let's see how we did shall we this is the most
46:48important thing so we'll start off with karen um can you tell me how this uh team did with their
46:56retailers um well four of the six retailers placed orders oh that's good yep uh and the total number
47:04of orders was 2058 right tim exactly the same thing well they pitched to all of them and unfortunately
47:17the only many to secure two orders from the six totaling amount of 2600 what yeah
47:33well okay dear oh dear oh dear it's a shame you don't realize that you left a load of orders
47:40on the table
47:41pets at home would have ordered 3500 right and the message there is you didn't push them enough
47:51you gave in too early let's go walkies
47:56we had a deal we've got a deal
48:00thank you for the opportunity thank you for the opportunity well done karen all the best guys
48:15well you lot um you can all go back to the house because obviously it goes without saying that
48:22you're in the final five thank you love sugar how you made it i don't know i haven't got i
48:28haven't got a
48:29bloody clue you're a lucky charm you really are my business plan though well we'll soon see about
48:36that yeah okay go back to the uh go back to the house thank you so much thank you good
48:41luck guys
48:41good luck good luck good luck well done thank you oh my gosh oh my gosh
48:59look um like two very intelligent candidates left here you will realize that there's only room for one
49:08of you when you come back in this boardroom we're going to have a more of a deeper dive in
49:14what your
49:14business ideas are and then i shall decide which one of you is leaving the process yes off you go
49:30oh my god i am absolutely gassed right now can't wait for like our business plans to be
49:37ripped two shreds we've got a seat at the table at final five like when i tell you from hong
49:46kong to
49:46here these girls have grown so mad they could be a winner in this car i know
49:53it was win or war i'm not a beg i'm not gonna beg for my place it was a deal
49:58and lord sugar hasn't seen
50:04last me well um dan started off quiet but he's turned out to be quite an intelligent person hasn't
50:12he i look for dan this really was a game of two halves half of it the logo the name
50:18the brand got
50:20some really good feedback but on the other hand pets at home if pushed they would have ordered three and
50:27half thousand so he left fifteen hundred orders on the table and that is not good and rothner listen
50:34i really like rothner i think she's a good candidate and she really is a calming influence amongst some
50:39of the chaos that happens but unfortunately dan and kieran did actually manage to take orders i mean
50:45she got no orders she spoke to two retailers and got zero hmm
50:52yes could you send the two of them in please
51:05right so i'll start with you dan um unbeknown to you you left orders on the table now you started
51:14off with pets at home why did you leave it at 2k yeah i can only apologize that i i
51:20didn't push them
51:20hard enough but i felt like that i did ask them um for for for more units but um what
51:25about finn and
51:26fur what happened there you only bought three oh yeah so i i kept that quite short just be honest
51:32because they were small business i knew they weren't going to place huge quantities so you know
51:37they placed 1100 with the other team yeah they did they've got big online presence now um rothner i've
51:45got your cv here okay it says here best business skills confident in negotiating it says
51:55you didn't negotiate anything there i did try my hardest and i i was honestly very disappointed in
52:02myself however i don't think for me the issue actually was the negotiation it was just the fact
52:06that they disliked the product it's it's just too big and the dimensions were a little bit off
52:10you went with kieran to keep an eye on him as you put it you know you didn't keep an
52:16eye on him
52:17did you really you let him build that thing if it would have been four foot tall you'd have been
52:22able to sell loads why did you just not put your foot down he just kept saying trust me and
52:27he kept
52:27looking at me as if i'm being a hindrance good good you should have been a hindrance yeah and i
52:32regret
52:32that i really do it's like being on a sinking ship uh you're up to here with walter and you
52:37think
52:37no i'm not going to listen to your captain anymore so um why shouldn't i fire you dan
52:45i think over the past um 10 tasks um i know it's taken me a little while to get into
52:49the process but
52:50i feel like that i've learned a lot um you know i've taken a really huge risk coming into here
52:54um i've left my business that i've been growing for the past eight years why do you do that then
52:57why'd you taken the risk then because i've not really had a mentor or guidance in the business
53:02world everything i've done i've done it myself yeah and the market that i'm in i know it really
53:06well i know it's got huge potential there's multi-million pound contracts with government
53:10and huge organizations that i want to be able to unlock and i feel like with your with your
53:15expertise and kind of support multi-million you reckon yeah yeah hmm and uh rossner now your
53:22art business idea is bespoke cake studio which is like was it wedding cakes isn't it yeah it's
53:28wedding cakes but also another side of it is having like a subway style for cake so you come in
53:33choose your sponge choose your buttercream and your toppings basically tailoring each cake
53:38slice to the individual and i do see it expanding as a franchise if i'm completely honest if the
53:42experts are able to rip into my business and i'm happy i love criticism a business plan i go above
53:49and beyond in all that i do and i'll make sure that i make this business a success with your
53:52guidance
53:52i'll give you 10 out of 10 for putting yourself forward well look only one of you can go through
54:02to the final five i have to consider what's the best option for me at the moment yeah
54:12quite a bit of a dilemma here rossner one can't ignore the fact that you didn't sell anything
54:18lord sugar i don't want to hear anymore at the moment dan looking at the sales had you'd push
54:26pets out your team would have won so it's a tough one however um rossner you sold nothing and at
54:36least
54:36dan did sell 2 000 pieces so you've been really impressive in this process but i have to tell you
54:44that
54:45regretfully your journey is over now you're fired thank you very much for the opportunity good luck rossner
55:02so dan you you're through to the final five you know what that means you're gonna have to be grilled

55:16okay thank you well i'm done
55:24i'm guided however i've done this whole thing with integrity and i'm really proud of the way i
55:28conducted myself you know this isn't the end for me if anything i'm going to utilize everything that
55:33i've learned from this and just go on to be successful
55:37i actually don't have a clue who's going to come back i think both of them are going to be
55:40fighting
55:41very very hard it literally is the final five interviews are next so i think can he see himself
55:47yeah like they're working with like they're both strong candidates so it's not important oh my god
55:53oh my god lord miller has arrived oh my god mate welcome come sit you gotta tell us mate okay
56:03well
56:04look obviously it was really upsetting for me to see rothner go because she put up a really really great
56:08fight
56:08you know like you guys know i was so quiet in the beginning and i remember like in the hotel
56:17before
56:17we left hong kong everyone was eating in the hotel having dinner and there wasn't enough space on the
56:23table so i was sitting by myself and rothner was like come sit with me and then i don't think
56:29i would
56:29have got this far without her she's a really top person she yeah i really loved but what they did
56:34say
56:35to me when i left is that we're going to get a really big grilling on our business plans so
56:39they
56:39said be prepared wow yeah now five candidates remain lord sugar's search for his next business partner
56:54continues next time feels like i'm going to throw up tough questions you don't keep a set of accounts
57:00correct well i would call that a hobby then tough talk do not give me cocky answers it's not like
