00:00The next 12 weeks will be the toughest of your life.
00:04Lord Sugar is on the hunt for the next big thing.
00:08This is an opportunity of a lifetime.
00:12Battling for his backing, some of Britain's brightest prospects.
00:16Come on, boys. Look at that. Your life depends on it.
00:20And then hit him.
00:21It's a deal worth fighting for.
00:23I can sense a bit of friction, absolutely.
00:25Daniel, was that on you?
00:25No.
00:26I was talking then.
00:28Twenty candidates.
00:30I've never been kicked in the balls by a goat, to be honest with you.
00:33Twelve tough tasks.
00:35This is a complete and utter joke.
00:39Just jump straight in.
00:40One life-changing opportunity.
00:42You're fired. You're fired.
00:44You've completely messed it up. You're fired.
00:55Previously on The Apprentice.
00:57Five seconds, guys.
00:58Teams went live to the nation.
01:00This is not easy.
01:02Oh, my God. None sold.
01:04Pasha's sales squad took the win.
01:06Totalling £893.60.
01:09Last defence.
01:10And on the losing team, Levi...
01:12You were really painful to watch.
01:14...and Connor...
01:15You're fired.
01:16...were taken off air.
01:18While Kieran...
01:19Do you know you've been in the losing team five times?
01:21I would like to be the project manager on Task 10.
01:23You got it.
01:24...made his own deal of the day.
01:26Sorry.
01:26If I lose, I walk.
01:27Wow.
01:28Fawzi.
01:35Hello, this is Krishma.
01:39Good morning.
01:40Lord Sugar would like you to make your way to Rocker Gallery in West London.
01:44The cars will be outside in 30 minutes.
01:47Okay.
01:50Everybody!
01:51We need to be up!
01:53Boys!
01:54We need to be at Rocker Gallery London in 30 minutes.
01:58Brian!
02:00Give us five more minutes, we'll be awake.
02:02I know your mum is not my job to come back in five minutes.
02:09Obviously, I've got a VPN.
02:10Yeah?
02:11You put yourself out there.
02:12You in?
02:13You're straight through to the final fight.
02:14Please.
02:15You walk, mate.
02:16It's the rules.
02:19Cannot believe it is the last task.
02:22I know.
02:22This is the one that determines the final fight, I feel.
02:32It feels like all eyes are going to be on Kieran today after his brave and bold move in the
02:37boardroom.
02:37Yeah.
02:37There's a lot of pressure being on his team.
02:39I mean, it's always a losing team when he's around.
02:43Near the banks of the Thames, Rocker London Gallery.
02:49A high-end hub for design and innovation.
02:57good morning you're standing in the rocker gallery built to showcase the latest trends
03:05in high-end design and that is exactly what your next task is all about now the uk spends an
03:12astonishing nine billion pounds a year on products for their pets i want you to take a bite out of
03:21that market so you're going to come up with a new pet lifestyle brand design an innovative pet product
03:29and create a social media video and then tomorrow you'll pitch your product to a room full of
03:35retailers the team that secures the most orders will win and on the losing team at least one of
03:42you will be going for walkers lord sugar's asked me to tell you that this is an important task
03:49because after this it's the final five and there are seven of you so two from the losing team will
03:55be fired so give it your all everything clear yeah good luck and off you go
04:05teams have two days to perfect a product for pets before trying to tempt buyers tomorrow
04:12first job we're all there in the boardroom it's uh win or walk so um i'll be leading this one
04:19for
04:19you guys work out who's top dog final task before interviews who wants to be p.m well i'm going
04:28to
04:28put myself forward guys just off the bat obviously i love pets and i also worked at pets at home
04:33that
04:33was my first job when i was 17 um so yeah guys i would also like to put myself forward
04:39as p.m as a
04:40dog owner i know what dogs love i've had german shepherds growing up and now i also have a shih
04:45tzu
04:46so i've had big dogs small dogs um i i can speak dog i can speak dog as well but
04:51people call me the
04:52dog whisperer i've got a cockapoo i had a lab rescued a shih tzu i've also had a cat cat
04:58sand dog
04:59sources all of it guys i want to create something for dogs that's the direction i want to take this
05:03with i've thought it through and i would love to be your project manager for this one guys
05:08oh wow both of you guys have you know pets like you know have dogs and you know that stuff
05:13but
05:15and my vote's with kharishma for this one yeah my vote's going to be with kharishma as well
05:19being project manager on week 10 is a huge risk however i have such a clear vision for this
05:24task like it could not have been any more catered for me and i have no doubt that me and
05:29my team
05:29can win this i'm so excited thank you guys for voting me in and kieran's going home
05:36on the other team there is also a big demand for cats products at the moment it's growing as well
05:41it's a growing market project manager kieran so let's go with cats scratches round for inspiration
05:50i've never had a cat have you ever had cats no so i'm going to be really honest with you
05:54guys
05:54um i have a bit of a fear of pet right what will your thoughts be on cat bed i've
06:02never had a pet in
06:03my life so it's a bit my knowledge of it is not great i think we need to look at
06:08so cat trees
06:09yep it'd be used to for exercise for the cats so in terms of that what are we thinking
06:17um okay anything come into mind
06:23i'm not a huge fan of animals and going down the cat route was quite risky if i'm honest i
06:28think
06:28nobody knows enough about cats and so whether that comes to bite us later on or not we'll find out
06:33we could even make it look like a tree it could just be brown brown trunk
06:38green grass well the tree idea i like it because people have house plants right
06:45so why not have a tree
06:49across the hall me and pasha i know for a fact we speak to our dogs we go hey baby
06:54good morning
06:55are you hungry planning to pounce on a winning idea now imagine if you had the power to leave your
07:01dog
07:01voice notes project manager karishma in my head okay there's a dog bed right and dog owners
07:10communicate and leave like little voice messages for their dogs my dog would absolutely love that and
07:15i can already tell you that i would buy that bed that's this is why we have our experts i've
07:19got a
07:19very clear idea of what i want this to look like i think we should go down the luxury market
07:24loads of
07:25people that invest in dogs they have the money to spend on dogs you know i would sell my kidney
07:29for my dog to have the nicest bed dogs like fluffy materials so that's a huge thing to think about
07:35yeah it needs to look expensive from the logo to the bed itself yeah team alpha seems to have fallen
07:41on their feet karishma and pasha have got all the experience you could want with regards to pets
07:47having had dogs their whole life there's really no excuse now because they've got to deliver
07:52the logo needs to be minimalistic and chic like i thought of maison le chien which means house of
07:57dog i do like french yeah sure vibes i think that it's high end but it's also premium perfect
08:05you'd sort of have a pod here with a little window for quiet time set on creating a winning cat
08:12tree
08:12we can then have the branches where you have the dangly fun bits kieran's team you can dangle bits of
08:18fruit off them you could dangle a squirrel a squirrel off it um in regards to the team split
08:25for me i think because i feel like you have a better idea of how you want the trees to
08:29look
08:29i think personally it would be good for you to go into the design i agree i'm not gonna lie
08:34to you
08:34and i hope you don't think the wrong way working with you attention to detail sometimes can be missed
08:39and i feel like i'd add that okay um dan how would you feel about um doing the branding i
08:45mean i'm
08:45i'm really easy going in terms of the branding make it look friendly nice inviting something like that
08:54rothner told kieran that he really lacks attention to detail and i can see what she's talking about
09:00he hasn't given any direction to dan at all i mean inviting friendly and nice i mean what kind of
09:06brief is
09:06that so the design team is myself and laurence and my branding team is pasha and priesh we're
09:13gonna put pasha sub-team leader let's win this let's win it come on let's do it let's go
09:1910 a.m teams divide half will sink their claws into branding the brief this morning was so clear
09:27it's luxury we know what krishma wants yeah um and you know we're gonna add that element of a french
09:33twist to the name yeah while the rest design products aimed at furry friends i genuinely want
09:40you to get this win after your little ballsy claim i want the win really badly i need it yeah
09:45otherwise
09:46it's home time for me the royal college of art base for both product design teams i'm kieran nice to
09:55me
09:55good to meet you tim unleashing her creativity so if we like do like a rough sketch if we imagine
10:02it looking almost like a realistic sofa project manager karishma over here somewhere there needs
10:07to be a speaker so the audio can come out and then we have a cushion right on team cat
10:12so our plan is
10:14essentially to make it look like a tree branching out so one stem two branches coming off with seating
10:20areas yeah and then a main pod at the top which is then branched over estate agent kieran we're gonna
10:27have a mouse running around the artificial grass on discs and then we can have additional little
10:31things on that dangle wait what do cats like do you have any idea because i'm not actually sure what
10:36do they have like anything and everything or i don't my knowledge on that is very little so then i
10:42don't want we've got the mouse retailers to say they like cheese that's mouse right yeah mouse love
10:49cheese but the cat will be at the top chilling why would you oh yeah what does a cat like
10:56uh what
10:57toys can cats don't really like to play with many toys to be honest um apple um fruit fits in
11:05with tree
11:05they just love being i think stick with the fruit right there so basically just apple and a banana
11:15west london at creative agency rpm chic canines or chic le chien karishma's branding crew
11:26i feel like with what christmas said this morning chic le chien is very bougie that is a luxury brand
11:33search for a name with pedigree chic le chien chic is very much like paris chic it's very like
11:43elegant the only thing is as a normal person would they get what that means if you're walking down
11:49the dog section yeah of course if you don't know french then you're not you're not gonna know it and
11:54like that to me sounds like a fancy french restaurant or something i don't speak french at all but chic
12:00is a very well-known word it's elegant right um let's just because i know that obviously time is
12:08not going to be on our side so chic le chien yeah just to confirm the brand name is going
12:12to be chic
12:13le chien the team wanted to add a bit of french flair to make their dog bed feel high-end
12:20but neither
12:20passion or priya speak french and they've spelt chic incorrectly there's nothing chic about that
12:27i think if we can have the sheet bigger than the le chien yeah like that perfect
12:35across the hall i do really like oh my catty i think that's quite an edgy name for like a
12:40new
12:41pet brand coming to market flying solo on feline branding dan
12:48just got to go with my gut feeling and go with what i think is going to be great so
12:53what what i would
12:54like it to look like i'd like it to be quite like bold that one on the far right there
12:58and then a huge
13:00exclamation mark at the end like a brand but we do something that looks something like this
13:05goes from large to small and large again something like this shape yeah i'm trying to not just think
13:11about one product i'm trying to think of like a whole brand name and conception but i'd like to see
13:15it with maybe two bold lines underneath the actual lettering ah yeah and then i'd like to start playing
13:21around with some colors if that's okay maybe like a racing movie and if i could just duplicate that
13:26whole thing because i want to switch it around i just want to see some ideas come to life
13:32i think this is quite a turning point for dan dan who's very corporate who plays it safe
13:37who never takes any risks he's come up with something quite catchy in terms of the name
13:41the logo design isn't terrible i mean he's taking ownership i like that can you zoom in on this
13:48third one at the bottom left this one yeah i think that one is my final masterpiece
13:582pm so we've got a design we've got a logo catching up the final uh name is chic le chien
14:08team dog
14:09okay awesome um can i just double check the spelling of chic le chien so it is uh sorry c
14:17h i q u e
14:21that's not the spelling of chic when something looks chic and stylish we say c h i c c h
14:28i c really
14:30i thought chic was c h i q u e chic but that might just be the way i'm feeling
14:36it might just be like
14:37slang so i'm now i'm actually not sure but i'm just going to be positive and that that is a
14:42french way of
14:43spelling the word chic uh thank you guys so much well done bye bye i'm not gonna lie i know
14:51it's a
14:51stupid question but i would not spell chic this way i personally i don't speak french i wouldn't
14:56have used a word that i can't speak or you know i know myself do you know how would you
15:01usually spell
15:02it so it would be c h i c c h i c oh like chic like chic okay fine
15:08i don't actually know that makes
15:10sense if they spelt the first word of our logo incorrectly pasha and priyash have made a huge
15:16mistake a huge mistake that is not something that we can just you know sweep over it's the name of
15:21the
15:21brand i think we'd best be positive move on and yeah we'll see how it looks tomorrow design deadline
15:29looming the last thing we need to give tim the measurement of is the height of this stone for
15:36kieran's cat tree so that's a minimum 90 needs to be double that finishing touches i think 1.5
15:45to get what we want you don't want to go too tall because people's apartments or houses might not
15:50the room might not be that tall it did trust me i wouldn't 1.6 meters high 1.6 from
15:57the floor to the
15:58top of the tree yeah can you discuss this with me before you do that is that too tall no
16:03no no
16:03that's not big enough i think you're getting very large that's as tall as me and most house plants
16:08are as tall as well this is what that's the that's the vision just okay trust me okay i'm not
16:16trust me
16:17every time kieran measures his tree he adds more height to it or more width i mean at this stage
16:24you're
16:24gonna need a palace to put this thing in i mean it's huge well if i'm gonna stick to it
16:30because we
16:31need to get on the cereals let's increase this to 1800 okay on the other team our body of the
16:39sofa
16:39will be this fleece material in the beige yeah laying out her vision for their luxury dog bed
16:45the cushion itself will be this sherpa sofa leader of the pack charisma the whole point of this is for
16:53owners to be able to communicate with their dogs and leave a nice message beautiful so if we write
16:57a rough script for this keep it short and sweet and this would be activated by yeah sound like an
17:02ambulance going past fireworks something like that the dog would feel safe okay fine i think it's it's
17:07a clear vision that we should work with i don't think that trying to reinvent it from my side for
17:12the sake of looking busy is a good idea we're gonna say hey baby i miss you and then we'll
17:16do kisses
17:17yeah yeah exactly hey baby i miss you i'm running late but i'll be home soon love you so much
17:23see you
17:24soon bye charisma is doing what charisma does best coming up with ideas and leading from the front but
17:31this product's usp is pretty bold it's a talking dog bed and nobody is challenging her i hope the buyers
17:37are as convinced by it as the team are is that great or what it's a one take one it's
17:42just the
17:42authenticity of it 4 pm i think i do prefer for pawsome friends it's quite a nice tagline brands built
17:52letting them hear and feel you when you can't feel them yeah it's a bit long is it designs signed
17:58off
17:59as a dog owner i would pay for that tomorrow try to get buyers to bite
18:098am i hope you like it it's quite an edgy logo that i did i mean it's definitely eye-catching
18:14yeah i
18:15like i like it hoping their branding can fetch them a win i actually really like the logo it's classy
18:21i love the paw print team dog if you can promise me that that is the correct spelling of the
18:26word can
18:26be spelled either way yeah i trust that and i'm ready to move on with that and then we've got
18:31the
18:31tagline which is um um what's the first word it is letting them letting them hear and feel you when
18:43you can't feel them so i obviously do think the tagline is a bit lengthy yeah you know most well
18:50-known
18:50brands go for a small one a little one i'm not gonna lie i it's very long the whole point
18:57of a
18:57tagline is to be memorable and in this case the people who made it couldn't even remember it i asked
19:01priesh and pasha was the tagline and they both couldn't remember so for me it's it's a very big
19:07mistake on their part if during the pitch today i forget it someone step in and say it because i
19:11i just don't think i'll remember it across the hall right the big unveil okay i'm excited the moment
19:20of truth wow okay for kieran's cat tree wow i think this is awesome yeah i i i do find
19:34that the dome
19:34the more i look at it it's pretty huge that was big i didn't realize it'd have such a huge
19:40surface area
19:42it's quite big i'm not sure how many houses this would fit in unless you have a huge house yeah
19:47but how do customers take it home would they pick it up in the shop can you fit it in
19:51a car quite easily
19:54just order online the overall size of the product i mean it's huge and i think especially if you are
20:02selling to consumers where they've got typically smaller flats especially in london i mean where
20:07the hell are you going to put the thing so how's the cat going to get in here
20:17for the other team right oh oh i like this karishma's talking dog bed hey baby i miss you i'm
20:28running
20:28late but i'll be home soon love you so much see you soon bye oh i love the one take
20:35wonder from
20:35karishma as well so this is going to be audio activated any loud bang an ambulance
20:41knock on the door hey baby i miss you i'm running late but i'll be home soon love you so
20:45much see you
20:47soon bye all right so obviously it does go off with quite sensitive sounds hey baby i miss you i'm
21:06running late but i'll be home soon love you so much see you soon bye that's really annoying if it
21:11keeps
21:11going off so guys you know today's a big busy day we've got the pitch hey baby i miss you
21:16i'm just
21:16going to switch that off love you so much see you soon bye all right and it's off 10am so
21:25we're
21:25obviously gonna do a social media video today i'll go to consumer research get all the information
21:32before shooting their viral videos
21:36the half of each team a master class in content creation i've created quite a lot of social media
21:42content over the years with my pets what have you got i've got cats perfect from social media supremo
21:50zara mcdermott some of my top tips are hook the viewer in the first three seconds could you ask a
21:58question does your cat do this does your dog do this another tip i've got is about humor
22:04humor cells that could be a really good way to increase engagement
22:10west london who of you likes the brand name
22:14six out of six okay that's really promising for team moggy so uh let's go and take a closer look
22:20at the product market research
22:25oh my god
22:28yeah it's very tree
22:34i live in a studio flat this is way too big for studio flats
22:38for my cat to jump from here to this platform and then to come around in here i think that
22:46would
22:46be quite tough for her yeah i hear your thoughts a million dollar question is just a raise of hands
22:51would you buy this for your cats
22:57sorry oh flicking hell
23:01they just didn't really like the product at all it wasn't really fit for purpose
23:05it was a very similar thought to what i had this morning with it being too tall
23:08how is the cat going to be able to jump up there and get out on the upside they love
23:12the brand name
23:13they love the logo and so i'm feeling like i did a great job
23:19okay so i'm gonna write that they can successfully jump out
23:26across town now tagline is letting them here and feel you
23:32when you can't feel them barking up the wrong tree from the tagline do you understand what the product
23:39would be not a click no no okay priesh and lawrence
23:45so obviously our name is called chic that's she so chic is another word for like classy glamour
23:51yeah it's just like a you know like you say something um yes i think we're all familiar with
23:57the term chic but i've never seen it spelt like that i don't understand that at all chic is part
24:02of
24:02my everyday vocabulary yeah i'm french i think it's spelled c-h-i-c and you should have it the
24:08other way around so le chien chic wrong way around okay so welcome to our dog bed you can record
24:16your
24:16voice and it will play that recording to sort of give the dog that sense of calm if you are
24:20not in the
24:21house and they hear you they will look for you i agree i think i would freak out the dogs
24:26more than
24:26anything okay so would you recommend this product to a friend no uh would you guys buy this product no
24:33no do you like the idea of the audio function is it something you would use no none of you
24:40that was honestly unfortunately a car crash being shown up by spelling the name wrong by someone that's
24:46from france really embarrassing and the product very few positives on that side as well i think
24:51spinning that's going to be really really tough we are in a really bad place with that feedback just
24:56we disappointed yeah i very much so i'm literally oh yeah carnage car crash i don't know what to call
25:02it chic less oh back at the house all right three two one action i'll be with you soon bye
25:12girl who's
25:13that he sounds cute while karishma and pasha shoot their viral video brown eyes blonde hair he's at
25:22home waiting for me so i just thought i'd leave him a cute little message chasing their tails what are
25:28the chances of getting him on a podium no no no no rosner and kieran could we get a shot
25:35of his head
25:36poking out of it that tree is really freaking out with their star on strike right now we have to
25:44pivot
25:44we don't have much to go off of a change of direction i was thinking what might be cool for
25:50you to walk in on the camera and be like guys look at this my cat never goes out into
25:54the nature watch
25:55me bring the nature indoors we need like loads of ideas just so that when we're editing because
25:59obviously this is wasted time we can't just stand around yeah yeah just like a lot of energy does
26:04anyone else's cat do this just sits at the window but never actually wants to go outside
26:09i am getting super nervous super stressed things aren't going exactly how i planned but
26:17we've pivoted and i'm ready to make it happen come on you're the one who wanted to trade brilliant
26:23okay yes kieran smile while you're doing that perfect
26:313 p.m ahead of the pitches hi everyone hi i'm good for both teams do you want to hear
26:39the bad
26:39news or the good news first let's go bad yeah a chance to check in none of them would buy
26:45the
26:45product none of them they said it was too tall not very accessible for the cats good news is is
26:50that
26:50they love the brand name the tagline they said it was really catchy i mean i love the branding because
26:55i
26:55because i created it for team dog i'm going to be honest with you it was really bad the consumer
27:01feedback reality bites zero out of six understood what it did can you be a bit more specific in
27:08terms of like what what did what so zero out of six knew what the product was based off okay
27:13that's
27:13fine unfortunately the word we had a french guy there and the word chic is spelt wrong it isn't
27:18spelt wrong no it is it is and it's in the wrong order as well it should be lachian chic
27:23they just
27:24said oh no i've never seen it like that before so we just had to listen to what they said
27:27in terms of
27:28the beds none of them liked the audio and they basically said it would freak out the dog and that
27:32was pretty much the feedback across the board i don't want to hear none of that yeah that's negative it's
27:37put me in a bad mood and take a deep breath in take a deep breath out and drop it
27:40because i have a dog
27:41she has a dog and we thought it was nice
27:46pitching time my neck is on the line here so let's get in there let's smash it and let's get
27:51some sales get that win come on okay waiting top dogs from the nation's biggest pet brands
27:58hands up if you love dogs amazing hoping to win over buyers with her luxury dog bed and do we
28:06have
28:06any furniture lovers in the room just the one everybody else sleeps on the carpet
28:12karishma i've had dogs my entire life i know what they love and i know what they love to feel
28:17and i said how do we make this connection between the human and the dog closer this is not just
28:23any
28:24sofa bed this is a literal talking sofa bed you can create a personalized message for your dog
28:30so that when you're away from the home any sound that may be disturbing they trigger the sound of your
28:35soothing calming and familiar voice hey baby i miss you i'm running late but i'll be home soon
28:40love you so much see you soon bye dogs will love it the dog owners will love it i'm gonna
28:46pass it over
28:47to pasha here my colleague who's gonna tell you a bit more about our brand story
28:52now i'm hoping that you guys look at this and this gives you luxury
28:56the chic dog that is the goal the chic dog on the chic bed which is ultimately perfect if you
29:03like
29:04luxury if you like the higher things in life now you guys might be thinking chic is felt a little
29:09bit different to usual personally i feel like the normal spelling that you'd see of chic is a little bit
29:14more slang it's a different way of spelling it and i feel like it just brings out that extra pop
29:19of french elegance i don't think anyone here speaks french but ultimately this is for dogs and
29:26le chien means dog thank you thank you pasha so without further ado i'm gonna put play our social
29:34media campaign video that we did today hi girl who's that he sounds cute girl let me tell you brown
29:43eyes
29:43a lot of hair so i left him a little voice note he's at home waiting to be on the
29:48sofa gorgeous
29:51i'm running late but i will be with you soon bye i would love to open the floor to any
29:57questions
29:58um i think the audio feature is really appealing i slightly worry that's going to be confusing for the
30:05dog perhaps over stimulate it rather than calm the dog down um science has proven that dogs like to
30:12sit on surfaces that smell like the owners science will hopefully soon prove that dogs like to listen
30:17to the voice of their owners when they're gone across town does anyone else's cat do this just sits at
30:24the window it doesn't actually go outside also hoping to impress look what i've just bought oh my
30:30daddy come on kieran's cat crew as you can see uh we have created a one one of a kind
30:40cat tree we wanted to
30:43make this big just so it's it's more comfortable for your pet and our finished product definitely will
30:50catch eyes when you have visitors into your house and it will also blend away next to your house plants
30:57if you don't want it to be on show too much now i know it's quite literally a cat tree
31:01and there's
31:02a reason for that we thought why not bring a little bit of the nature indoors they want to have
31:07a little
31:07play around by themselves they can or they can go and have a little rest in there we'd love to
31:13open
31:14it up some questions uh to hear what you guys think so i was wondering about this size if you
31:19guys
31:19thought about like how customers could carry at home the item isn't the lightest i'll be completely
31:26honest so whether or not you can offer a delivery service or they can arrange for someone to pick
31:32it up separately that's on them however it is something that stands out makes people stop look and buy
31:44introductions over teams have one hour to tempt buyers into big orders hello hi james nice to
31:51meet you on team dog because you guys are a global brand would you thinking around the like 3 000
31:574 000 mark
31:59while lawrence and priesh fail to get a bite doesn't really match what our customer wants so
32:05we won't be placing in order with you pasha draws on her past connections i've actually worked at
32:13pets a home that was my first job four years ago when i was 17. i understand the area you
32:18if your dog
32:19has anxiety this is a natural way of potentially calming your dog down have you got evidence that
32:25the owner's voice without the owner being present does do that we don't actually have this is such new
32:31technology there's mixed opinions we are waiting for there to be research on how
32:35dogs respond to this kind of audio i think i'm just questioning yeah so the problem you've
32:39identified and whether this is actually the right the right solution and on that basis we probably
32:44wouldn't be placing any orders okay i appreciate that but even just a few hundred units 100 200 we
32:52just think there's too big a gap between the evidence you've got and what this product can deliver
32:58it's a car crash to be honest with you the problem that we're coming up against is the
33:03practicality of the audio we're saying that it de-stresses animals but realistically we have no
33:07facts to prove that there's a point in yeah they we did our best let's move on to the next
33:12let's go
33:12to the next i've got much quicker with these ones across town it'd be great to hear a little bit
33:18about what you thought of it and um especially if you could see it in your in your stores also
33:22in
33:22talks with industry top cats dan we would be interested because we love innovative products
33:29and there is innovation there it's quite um unique to get a cat tree which is interactive we do sell
33:35a huge amount of cat trees every year and very much a test purchase for us would be about 2000
33:40units
33:40is there um like if we were to do an exclusivity deal with you guys is there a potential at
33:45most we
33:46might go to maybe 2300 if it was exclusive yeah okay well um for exclusivity we need a few thousand
33:52more really um be delighted to accept your offer i will shake on two thousand orders okay thank you
33:56i think dan's approach to pets at home one of the largest retailers here was very gentle very friendly
34:03i mean he secured an order of 2000 but far too quickly and if he did just kept pushing i'd
34:09be
34:09certain he'd got a much bigger number than he ended up with i think 2000 is good yeah they seem
34:15to
34:15genuinely love the product really well done mate on team dog is there anything we can do just to get
34:22sort of a trial order of maybe around the sort of thousand mark while pr man lawrence sells himself
34:28no our clients are really discerning i'm sorry but you're a good salesman come and wait for us
34:34in talks with supermarket giant tesco we've done a great job making a product that makes dogs feel safer
34:41pasha and karishma dogs spend their whole lives serving us and we took this so personally how do
34:47we give back to the dog look obviously you guys are super passionate about the product and that kind
34:53of link on the audio is something we've never seen before because this is such new and futuristic
34:58technology we're hoping to push around 5000 units today closer to a thousand is what we were thinking
35:04this is going to be something that people want in their home as something that they love
35:07so could i push you more towards 3500 we could maybe push to 1300 units but that would be the
35:13max
35:14okay could i be super cheeky push for 1500 we'd be so happy it's a nice gorgeous round juicy number
35:21and we'd both leave very happy from this conversation that sounds like a deal perfect 1500 i love that
35:27and i know dogs around the country will love it too while karishma collars a deal
35:32on the other team i saw lots of lovely smiles from you lovely ladies i'm hoping it was all positive
35:38still to secure a single sale what did you think of the products ross now the weight of it is
35:45bothering us a lot the weight and the size you know i think we would need a forklift to
35:52the customer to lift it so you're right it's a little bit heavy i'm going to be honest with you
35:57for me it's about replicating nature trees are tall let's try and allow the cat to see how big
36:03nature truly is and then eventually they might be able to come out with you on walks you know
36:07but the other thing was that the cat would fall to get in wouldn't be able to get in stretch
36:12across
36:13to get into the bed why don't you try it out in each of your store and see if that
36:18is something
36:18that you feel like you could invest but our problem is the size that we wish you the very best
36:23thank
36:24you thank you very much thank you guys don't worry don't worry move on yeah about it we go to
36:31the next
36:3220 minutes to go when i first saw it i thought it should have been in a vivarium because i
36:38was
36:38expecting a snake or a lizard to be happy for both teams the audio aspect for some dogs it might
36:43actually
36:44encourage them to search out their owner a final push for sales it's very very unique and very
36:50innovative we could take a small risk on maybe three no thank you thank you thank you very much
36:55we absolutely love love love for you to believe in our product as much as we do because this would
36:59change dog lives i mean i think for today we're not looking to to place an order how many would
37:04you
37:04guys walk on to work as it is lean on we love the concept but the product's not there yet
37:10but your
37:10process is good the kind feedback is lovely do you know what's lovely a big order just one in a
37:17store
37:18could create a whole bundle of excitement online we'll go with 50. thank you very much no problem
37:22we were thinking something around sort of the 1500 mark we'll go to 1100 final offer thank you very
37:29so much i think that's a well done pleasure thank you guys so much thank you so much thank you
37:33sir
37:376 pm we've done the best that we can i mean we've squeezed as much as we can out of
37:41them
37:42sales over it is a bit disappointing but i'm hoping that we did enough kieran wasn't the right project
37:48manager really for this task and you know if we do lose he's obviously sealed his fate but ultimately one
37:53of the person in his team is going to be walking home tomorrow as well we've done our best there
37:57was
37:57actually nothing more that we could have done yeah exactly if we lose tomorrow and i get brought back
38:02i am fighting fighting for my life bring it on because i'm sticking around tonight orders totted up
38:10tomorrow in the boardroom claws out
38:20one thing's for sure is that is anyone's going today i don't think anyone can call it either way like
38:25and you know what we've made it to task 10 we should all be very proud of ourselves not long
38:28now
38:29guys we find out that final fight the deal was we're in a walk what a comment that was in
38:36the heat of
38:36the moment you regret it or no if we haven't done enough i'll be regretting it
38:45i'm really nervous i gave it my all in this task i just don't know what way it's gonna go
38:52i've definitely not come here to leave at the last hurdle i've come here to make an impact and i'm
38:56going to make sure that this final boardroom i make it count this is the most stressed and
39:01angel i've been before a boardroom and pm is week 10 it's literally go hard or go home
39:26so this task was to design an accessory for a pet yeah so
39:37let's start with uh team alpha karishma uh you became the project manager yes and decided to
39:46make a dog bed yeah absolutely so we wanted to create something that fits into the realm of dog
39:52care and also furniture something people would accept in their living rooms as not just something for
39:58their dog but something that fits with the luxury theme that looks like a british airways first class
40:03seat actually at least it's first class yeah the main feature being the usp is the technology
40:09feature inside it's an audio feature which allows the owner's voice to be transmitted to the dog when
40:16the dog's at home alone so if there's a bang on the door fireworks an ambulance outside the audio
40:21feature would be triggered what about if i was to go hey baby i miss you i'm running late but
40:27i'll be
40:27home soon love you so much see you soon bye yeah that's it is it that's that that's the voice
40:34yeah but
40:34this you've got a dog is laying in there and like a bang of lightning or something like that might
40:40set it off yeah if it's loud enough yeah your your dog shitsues itself
40:46yeah so who designed this thing so lawrence and i designed the product itself pasha and priesh went
40:55off to do the branding right what's the branding so the name of our brand is called chic alishian
41:02and that basically means the chic dog she oh it's a funny spelling isn't it um so i do believe
41:11that that
41:12is an alternating way of spelling chic um and it looks more french and the ch ic was a bit
41:20more of
41:21a slang a slang spelling um i'm not sure that's true i just tried to back it up you remind
41:27me of del
41:27boy doing a bit of french you know that monji too yeah what's that can someone read out that tagline
41:35for me i can't see it so it's letting them hear and feel you when you can't feel them
41:42so it was incorporating the storyline and it's not as long isn't it it's long yeah it's longer than a
41:47dog lead the idea of an advert or a logo is you know as you get it straight away yeah
41:53uh do i get
41:55that it's got anything to do with dogs no um anyway you then do a a social media um clip
42:05right and who did
42:07that that was pasha and myself right shall we see it
42:11i'll be with you soon bye girl who's that he sounds cute so brown eyes
42:17blonde hair so i left him a little voice note he's up home waiting to be on the sofa
42:25i'm running late but i'll be with you soon bye
42:28hi right so explain to me the rationale behind it so what we wanted was to create a girl's branch
42:37they're talking about a boy he's got blonde hair he's got brown eyes the audience feels the dog that
42:42was the dog the whole time right okay so then you go and do some consumer research who did that
42:49that was
42:50myself and pre-ational trigger and you had some bit of a negative feedback there didn't you yeah
42:55they didn't really like the product at all uh they said that the audio clip would freak out the dog
43:00hmm but out of the six how many would buy one zero
43:07that's very encouraging isn't it right let's go over to this other team eclipse now then
43:13kieran i remember you saying to me at the end of the last board meeting win or walk basically
43:20walkies yeah yeah uh i mean this is week 10 so you've used up your your nine lives
43:27yes okay tell me what happened so what our plan was to bring nature indoors because you get a lot
43:33of
43:33indoor house cats these days and dan's idea initially was the tree i think what we try to do
43:38is give cats a real nature feel to it because obviously they don't tend to go outside a lot i
43:43thought the cats do go outside they get lost and they don't come back i think that shows rothner's
43:47knowledge of yeah cats i mean i tried cats don't go outside uh rothner you've got a fear of uh
43:53animals haven't you yeah i have a bit of a phobia but i was still excited for the task you're
43:58petrified
44:00i think i managed to conquer it a little bit she's done very well with the cat thank you
44:06anyway just tell me who designed this tree myself and rothner went to design the tree
44:11it's a bit big looks like you needed planning consent from the council
44:15you know um so the plan was obviously a lot of people have house plants so our thought was
44:21you know you've got a cat tree and a house farm why don't we combine the two
44:26it is large but then it's two items in one i did the thing that i i loved working with
44:32kieran but when
44:32it came down to sizing i did say to him multiple times is it going to be too big and
44:36he just kept
44:37saying trust me which i did trust in bigger bigger ones you kept adding more and more height to it
44:42it started off quite small and it ended up six foot yeah you won't miss it go big or go
44:48home right
44:49yeah stating the obvious you have to be a very very very athletic cat to get up the top there
44:55i disagree well did you get one to do it no let's let's work out how it split up dan
45:03you were put on
45:04branding right yeah okay and the logo was omar catty yeah and what's that lit what's this thing
45:11on the awesome friends well this is short isn't it um yeah and the market research wasn't very good was
45:19it i think yeah because we were chatting to a lot of people who were living in london they just
45:23said
45:23that they couldn't see this in their house just because it's too big um there were some positives from
45:28the consumer research in terms of the logo the brand name and the tagline i mean i suppose they
45:34loved that they did oh they love that yeah that was because that's your product that made you feel
45:40very very happy let's have a look at your social media does anyone else's cat do this just sits at
45:48the window it doesn't actually go outside look what i've just bought oh my catty come on
45:59what doesn't kill you makes you shine we jumped a bit didn't it so so the story behind it is
46:07the
46:08cat's looking outside it can't go outside so we've brought nature inside and that's why you can see
46:13all the green outside the window even with the cat i think you were quite disappointed that he wasn't
46:17behaving in the same way and time was running out and i just had to be like kieran we just
46:20need to
46:21pivot and i actually said kieran do what we can right okay how was the project manager was he like
46:26a
46:27a loose cannon or what i think he was he had really great ideas but i feel like he run
46:32he runs behaving
46:33like chairman meow the tough part of working with kieran was that he has a lot of great ideas but
46:39he's
46:39going at a thousand miles per hour yeah well okay let's see how we did shall we this is the
46:47most important
46:48thing so we'll start off with karen um can you tell me how this uh team did with their retailers
46:57um well four of the six retailers placed orders oh that's good yep uh and the total number of orders
47:04was 2058 right tim exactly the same thing well they pitched to all of them and unfortunately the only
47:17managed to secure two orders from the six totaling amount of 2600 what yeah
47:32well yeah okay dear oh dear oh dear it's a shame you don't realize that you left a load of
47:40orders on the
47:41table pets at home would have ordered 3500 right and the message there is you didn't push them enough
47:51you gave in too early let's go walkies
47:56we had a deal we've got a deal
48:00thank you for the opportunity thank you for the opportunity well done karen all the best guys
48:15well you lot um you can all go back to the house because obviously it goes without saying that you're
48:22in the final five thank you lord sugar how you made it i don't know i haven't got i haven't
48:29got a
48:29bloody clue you're a lucky charm you really are i hope you like my business plan though well we'll
48:35soon see about that yeah okay go back to the uh go back to the house thank you good luck
48:41guys good luck
48:42good luck well done thank you oh my god
48:58good luck um like two very intelligent candidates left here you will realize that
49:07there's only room for one of you when you come back in this boardroom we're going to have a more
49:12of a
49:12deeper dive in what your business ideas are and then i shall decide which one of you is leaving the
49:21process yes off you go
49:30oh my god i am absolutely gassed right now can't wait for like our business plans to be ripped to
49:38shreds
49:41we've got a seat at the table at final five like when i tell you from hong kong to here
49:47these girls
49:47have grown so mad they could be a winner in this car i know it was win or walk i'm
49:55not a bag i'm not
49:56going to beg for my place a deal was a deal and lord sugar hasn't seen the last of me
50:04um well um dan started off quiet but he's turned out to be quite an intelligent person hasn't he i
50:12look
50:13for damn this really was a game of two halves half of it the logo the name the brand got
50:20some really
50:21good feedback but on the other hand pets at home if pushed they would have ordered three and a half
50:27thousand so he left fifteen hundred orders on the table and that is not good and rothner listen i
50:34really like rothner i think she's a good candidate and she really is a calming influence amongst some
50:39of the chaos that happens but unfortunately dan and kieran did actually manage to take orders i mean
50:45she got no orders she spoke to two retailers and got zero
50:48hmm yes could you send the uh two of them in please
51:05right so i'll start with you dan um unbeknown to you you left orders on the table
51:13now you started off with pets at home why did you leave it at 2k yeah i can only apologize
51:19that i
51:20i didn't push them hard enough but i felt like that i did ask them um for for for more
51:24units but um
51:25what about fin and fur what happened there you only bought three oh yeah so i i kept that quite
51:32short just purely because they were small business i knew they weren't going to place huge quantities so
51:35you know they placed 1100 with the other team yeah they did they've got a big online presence now um
51:44rothner i've got your cv here okay it says here best business skills confident in negotiating it says
51:55you didn't negotiate anything there i did try my hardest and i i was honestly very disappointed in
52:01myself however i don't think for me the issue actually was the negotiation it was just the fact
52:06that they disliked the product it's it's just too big and the dimensions were a little bit off
52:10you went with kieran to keep an eye on him as you put it you know you didn't keep an
52:16eye on him did you
52:17really you let him build that thing if it would have been four foot tall you would have been able
52:22to sell loads why did you just not put your foot down he just kept saying trust me and he
52:27kept
52:27looking at me as if i'm being a hindrance good good you should have been a hindrance yeah and i
52:32regret that i really do it's like being on a sinking ship uh you're up to here with walter and
52:37you think
52:37no i'm not going to listen to your captain anymore so um why shouldn't i fire you dan
52:45i think over the past um 10 tasks um i know it's taken me a little while to get into
52:49the process but i
52:50feel like that i've learned a lot um you know i've taken a really huge risk coming into here
52:53um i've left my business that i've been growing for the past eight years why do you do that then
52:57why'd you taken the risk then because i've not really had a mentor or guidance in the business
53:02world everything i've done i've done it myself yeah and the market that i'm in i know it really
53:06well i know it's got huge potential there's multi-million pound contracts with government
53:10and huge organizations that i want to be able to unlock and i feel like with your with your expertise
53:15and kind of support multi-million you reckon yeah yeah hmm and uh rossner now your business
53:22idea is bespoke cake studio which is like what is it wedding cakes isn't it yeah it's wedding cakes
53:28but also another side of it is having like a subway style for cake so you come in choose your
53:33sponge
53:33choose your buttercream and your toppings basically tailoring each cake slice to the individual and i do
53:39see it expanding as a franchise if i'm completely honest if the experts are able to rip into my
53:44business and i'm happy i love a business plan i go above and beyond in all that i do and
53:50i'll make sure
53:50that i make this business a success with your guidance i'll give you 10 out of 10 for putting
53:55yourself forward well look only one of you can go through to the final five i have to consider
54:06what's the best option for me at the moment yeah
54:12quite a bit of a dilemma here rossner one can't ignore the fact that you didn't sell anything
54:18lord sugar i was i don't want to hear anymore at the moment dan looking at the sales had you'd
54:26pushed pets out your team would have won so it's a tough one however um rossner you sold nothing and
54:36at least dan did sell 2 000 pieces so you've been really impressive in this process but i have to

55:28conducted myself you know this isn't the end for me if anything i'm going to utilize everything that
55:33i've learned from this and just go on to be successful i actually don't have a clue who's
55:39going to come back i think both of them are going to be fighting very very hard it literally is

56:07really great fight you know like you guys know i was so quiet in the beginning and i remember like
56:16in the hotel before we left hong kong everyone was eating in the hotel having dinner and there
56:22wasn't enough space on the table so i was sitting by myself and rothna was like come sit with me
56:28and then i don't think i would have got this far without her she's a really top person she yeah
56:32really
56:33loved but what they did say to me when i left is that we're going to get a really big
