00:00I'll be honest with you, because a lot of people have questioned this,
00:03and we looked at this and we talked about some of the stories
00:05that were written about the Astros before the season.
00:08Clint, this offense looks real, right?
00:12Not maybe 11 runs or eight runs like they had, you know, yesterday,
00:18but you can just kind of see the approach.
00:20You can see the hitters.
00:22Like, obviously, Altuve hasn't fallen off a map yet,
00:25which I think some people seem to feel like he has or may do.
00:30Jordan is as locked in as we can see him,
00:34and he's in that locked in where he's scary for everybody else
00:37because, you know, he has MVP-like qualities to him when he can get going.
00:45And like you said, like I said, Altuve, patient, six walks on the season,
00:49doing what he's doing.
00:50Walker looks like he's starting to pick it up a bit
00:53and looks a lot better than he did, especially with his start last year.
00:57This Astros offense, which I do think they're going to need
01:01because I think we've seen it this first week,
01:04they don't have the best pitching staff in the American League, right?
01:11Seattle, specifically, you look at them in the division,
01:13they have a much better complete pitching staff than the Astros do,
01:17so they're going to have to score some runs.
01:19But this does look like it's a real thing
01:23when you look at the guys that are swinging the bat well so far.
01:27Yes, it is.
01:28I think, look, I mean, with Christian,
01:30I think the biggest surprise of the year, not surprise,
01:33but for me, the biggest, like, whoo, that's good to see,
01:37is Christian Walker and how he's swinging it.
01:39Ooh, yeah.
01:40Well, I thought that was going to get out.
01:41I mean, that to me is, you know, that's a big part of this.
01:45But when you look, you're six deep.
01:49You're six deep with Cam Smith, Yiner Diaz,
01:53and whoever your center fielder is, who that's turned into a turn.
01:58Didn't take long for that to turn into a turn style on center field.
02:01But, you know, Bryce Matthews has got some real pop, bro.
02:04He's got some real pop.
02:07And I'll be honest with you, the likability for me is pretty high for Bryce as well.
02:11I feel good about his stay in power here.
02:15So, you know, that lineup is, you know, again, I've said it from jump.
02:21Like, would I have been okay had they traded?
02:27Had they traded?
02:30Paredes.
02:30Paredes.
02:31Yeah, I mean, I wouldn't have fought it because you got an extra infielder.
02:34But I wouldn't, I'm not going to force it either
02:37because you got a, your lineup is serious with that cat in it.
02:41Um, and, and it looks like last year,
02:44he's going to pick up where he left off, you know, last year.
02:47And, and, uh, again, barring some, some crazy father time fall off
02:52or some crazy run of injuries.
02:54I think this lineup is going to be held to deal with for a while.
02:57No, it, no, it does not.
02:59And I think the pitch is, I think the lineup at the very least, Ron,
03:02they're going to buy time for, for some of these, some of these pitchers.
03:04Well, one thing it's the believable guys.
03:06It's Altuve.
03:07It's, it's Alvarez.
03:08Yeah.
03:08Like you feel like, oh, okay.
03:10They're locked in, but you're right.
03:13Of all of the kind of like platoon guys they have there, which is, you know,
03:18the Matthews, the Zach Cole, when he gets back from the foot thing, he has
03:22maybe the Zenzo as well.
03:24When he gets back from injury, he swung the, the bat pretty well in the WBC.
03:28Um, you know, low perfido, all of those guys.
03:32Matthews does intrigue me the most like that, that home run to that part of the park.
03:39That swing was easy and it got out in a hurry.
03:43And I mean, that looked effortlessly.
03:45Like it didn't look like a person, his size got down and just cranked every piece of his body.
03:51It looked like a, just a normal swing.
03:52I mean, I, I was surprised it was carrying the way it was.
03:56I thought it was a fly ball that carried right up on out of here to that part of the
04:00park.
04:01He, he's intriguing and playing on the outfield out there.
04:05And I know, I know there's a thought of being able to get, you know,
04:08your Don in there to be able to put all the guys out there.
04:11Pena didn't, didn't go yesterday, but who I would have all those platoon type players,
04:18bench type players, Bryce is the one that's intriguing the most that, you know,
04:23you want to see get the more at bat.
04:24A lot of pop speed on the base pass.
04:27I mean, he is an intriguing player, man.
04:29I, I, I'm excited to watch him kind of spread his wings a bit here.
04:33Now, again, I wouldn't be opposed to, to him spreading his wing,
04:36being a part-time center fielder with Jake and just let your Don take that left field responsibility.
04:40But, uh, but we'll see.
04:42Wherever it fits.
04:43Yeah.
04:43I do want to see some more.
