00:00Tyler, I just showed him the Usher and the Cherries.
00:06That's not a musical act, people.
00:08That is.
00:09He's out here.
00:10He is out here ending, ending, absolutely, just ending relationships.
00:14Don't give a, don't give a damn.
00:16Are they black cherries or the, uh, one of those other ones called?
00:19They're red.
00:20I prefer the black ones.
00:22I like them all.
00:23I love cherries.
00:23I like the cherries.
00:24Whatever them cherries that be in old fashions, that's the one I prefer.
00:27That's usually a black cherry, is there?
00:30Tasty.
00:35I'm not, I mean, I'm not as much of a cherry guy.
00:38I could, I could see that.
00:39Never have been.
00:40Any kind.
00:42Real quick, the leaderboard at the, uh, the Masters, Roy McIlroy, seven under.
00:47Patrick Reed behind him, five under.
00:50They're still on the course.
00:51Justin Rose, five under.
00:53Clark, Justin Day, Jason Day, excuse me.
00:56And, uh, at four under.
00:58I hadn't seen Scotty Sheffler.
01:00Is this, is this?
01:01I think Scotty's done.
01:02I think Scotty, Scotty started.
01:03Remember, he was, he started way before the leaders.
01:06I think he's done.
01:07I think he finished up, Bob.
01:08I'm not, I'm not seeing him.
01:10That's what's going on at Augusta.
01:14What is going on at Augusta?
01:18Brooks Koepka finished at three under and three under for the day, three under for the tournament.
01:23I am what scrolling down here.
01:25Really?
01:25There's Scotty.
01:26Woo.
01:27What'd he finish?
01:29He's plus two today, even for the tournament.
01:32I think, I think that puts him, that's the first, I have to look that up.
01:36I think that's the first round that Scotty Sheffler in a long time has shot over par.
01:42Really?
01:43Yeah.
01:44Did I see that somewhere, Tyler?
01:46Even in the, if you did, I haven't seen it, but it wouldn't surprise me.
01:49It's very possible.
01:51I do just usually pretty damn good with a club in his hand.
01:56He is, he definitely is that.
01:57All right.
01:58We'll see, I don't, what is the cut line?
02:00I don't even know what it is at this, at this point.
02:03We'll figure that out at some point, but we'll keep you abreast and updated on the, the Masters
02:08leaderboard as Rory is, is fighting to get his second straight green jacket and he is in
02:16the lead, two strokes right now in the lead as he is on, as he on the ninth hole.
02:21All right, the Astros, they are in Seattle and obviously we're sitting here in April,
02:28early April, and you know, there's, there's a ton of baseball to play and the Astros are
02:34six and seven in there.
02:36What game and a half out last six, seven, you're right.
02:39Game and a half out behind the Rangers.
02:41So that, you know, this it's, it's still obviously early and you know, this ain't a massive series,
02:47right?
02:48This ain't, this is not happening in September, but they got a four game series in Seattle.
02:52Seattle and Seattle, they're four and nine.
02:54They probably would, would like to pick it up as they are.
02:57They were picked to, to be the favorites of this, uh, of this division.
03:01But Clint, they got swept in Colorado, obviously.
03:04And the thing you could target and look at, and not just in Colorado, but what has been
03:10the issue this year, thus far, the offense is virtually the number one offense in baseball,
03:14even with them scoring run one run.
03:16And, uh, they, uh, they lead in many categories, but Clint, as good as their offense is, is as
03:23bad as their, their pitching is.
03:25And right now the Astros team, we are team, we are a 6.05.
03:31They are 29th in baseball.
03:34Only the nationals at 6.06 are worse than them.
03:38So they're 29th in baseball.
03:40They, uh, they lead the league in terms of earned runs, given up with 76.
03:45They're 29th in the league, only to the nationals when it's, uh, in terms of home runs, given up
03:50and they lead the league in baseball in terms of walks with 70.
03:55So this is, this is a, a struggle piece.
03:59And we know Hunter Brown is injured, but he has still pitched a couple of games.
04:01I guess my, my thought to you is we knew people questioned and wondered if the, if the Astros
04:09pitching would hold up.
04:11And, and, and it was a fair question behind Hunter Brown.
04:13We talked about it going into the season behind Hunter Brown.
04:16There wasn't a lot there that you could depend on or you felt great about.
04:20Are you surprised they've struggled this much, including the bullpen, their entire staff?
04:25You, those numbers are, those numbers are much worse than I thought they were going to
04:30be.
04:30And I know it's early, but damn.
04:31Yeah, no, no.
04:32I mean, I I'm, I'm surprised even, even with all the things that we knew coming into the
04:36season and even with the injuries.
04:37Yeah.
04:37I'm surprised that it's been one of the, one of the worst in, in, uh, in baseball, especially
04:42if you look and you say, Lance McCullers has been pretty good.
04:45Yeah, man.
04:46Tetchy, I am.
04:47I has been pretty good.
04:48Hey, you look up and you go, Hey.
04:50Oh, uh, Burroughs ain't been bad.
04:53He's been all right.
04:54I mean, the guys that you came into the season with like, Hey man, I don't know the starting
04:58rotation, man.
04:59I don't, I don't know what's beyond Hunter Brown.
05:00I don't know what you're going to get.
05:01Uh, sure.
05:02The wheels have come off of, of a couple of those guys a couple of times here, there,
05:05but, um, for me, it's just the, again, I said it yesterday.
05:10It's, it's Christian Javier.
05:12It's Brian or Bray.
05:13You, if you need two names, those are the two that I would point out.
05:15Um, and then it's obviously to me, the bullpen, the last five of the last six games that they've
05:21lost, we've seen the wheels come off of several guys in the bullpen and not just wheels come
05:25off like, like just like really bad.
05:30Like, I mean, almost unacceptable.
05:32The wheels coming off and not be able to throw strikes and not be able to get out of innings
05:35and not be able to stop the bleeding.
05:37Um, so yeah, I think it's, it's been significantly worse than I ever thought it would be.
05:41Yeah.
05:41No, I, yeah.
05:43I thought, boy, they're probably going to drop to like more middle of the pack.
05:47And again, they still have time to, to, to move past this, but these numbers are not,
05:51I mean, this is obviously not a great sample size, not the half of the season or anything,
05:56but damn, like it is, and it's the Rockies and the A's and you know, not terrible offenses,
06:02but I, I like, I, I didn't think the bullpen would be that bad.
06:09Yeah.
06:10Like I, I like, there's like how many, how many, like, if you take all starters and bullpen,
06:16how many arms do you go out there and you look and you're like, all right, when they,
06:19when they pitch, like, I don't feel terrible or I don't feel like when they pitch, I'm all
06:25right, when they go in, I'm okay.
06:27We were watching that Rockies game and they must've used every picture they damn near
06:30had.
06:31And you're sitting there thinking, I don't know about Christian Javier, but we don't
06:34know blue ball.
06:35Boy, once he, once he started throwing several pitches, you're like, what's going on here?
06:38Abreu came in at the end.
06:40It was rough.
06:40They just, well, it's, and we went and you can blame Joe a spot.
06:44And I've seen that throughout the last couple of days, but damn, where, where does he go?
06:50Where, where does he go to feel, to feel confident?
06:53Yeah.
06:53I mean, look, I don't know, I don't know where the blame needs to lie.
06:57Cause obviously injuries fall in there somewhere, but the, the, the thought that, you know,
07:00to, to go back to your question of like, just how did you, is it worse than you thought?
07:04Like, I did not think that we could start out with one of the hottest lineups in, in baseball.
07:09One of the hottest, you know, I mean, run producing average slugging Opie.
07:14I mean, the whole thing was just nasty.
07:16Like I had no, I had no idea if we started like that, would we pitch bad enough to make
07:21them
07:22sub 500, you know, that, that, that's, that's a tough pill.
07:25That's really, really bad.
07:26It's not just, that's not just rough.
07:28That's really bad.
07:29Yeah.
07:29Text line coming in.
07:30This is this, this, this all falls on Dana Brown.
07:32You can't blame Joe a spot up for this.
07:35Cause he doesn't have the pieces.
07:37No, this, this would be the thing that would get Dana in trouble to, to me, this would be
07:44the thing that would get him in trouble because I mean, he, he was very confident about how
07:52he felt about not only the depth in the rotation and starters they got.
07:56And I know you mentioned it before.
07:58He was very confident in that bullpen.
08:01Yeah.
08:01Oh, he felt good about it.
08:03I'm really excited about it.
08:04Like, yeah.
08:05And that's the, that's the scary part is someone text in, well, you don't have Hunter Brown and
08:09Josh Hader.
08:10The scary part is, yeah, those two would help, but I mean, you gotta, you gotta get
08:17something from the other guys, right?
08:19Like it's, it's the combination of you don't have guys going deep into games and maybe that
08:24helps as the season continues.
08:26And then you have to fill more innings with your bullpen and maybe you have to bring in
08:30guys that you wouldn't want to want to bring it.
08:32But like right now, I don't even know what, what would you say?
08:35All right, man, tonight, Emai gets us through six innings.
08:40Who's got the seventh, eighth, and ninth?
08:42Like, you feel like, you know what you mean?
08:44You feel great about it.
08:45Who's got the seventh, eighth, and ninth?
08:46Well, recently it hadn't mattered, right?
08:49Because you get there and it's like, hell, who needs work?
08:50Who just needs to work?
08:51Who needs to work, yeah.
08:52But if, if, if the game's tight and if you got a one, one run lead or a tie ball
08:57game,
08:57who takes, I don't know.
08:58I have no idea.
08:59I mean, Brian O'Brien is going to be in the mix somewhere.
09:01And King, I'm guessing.
09:02King, I'm guessing.
09:03Oh, Kirk, maybe, maybe he get thrown in there a little bit.
09:06Isn't that how you say his name?
09:07Oh, Kirk?
09:07Yeah.
09:08Yeah.
09:09I mean, he'll probably get thrown in there a little bit.
09:10Yeah, just like, and it's so.
09:12Joe, Joe, Joe tried old Blue Ball's ass back out there and tell him to get back on the horse.
09:18Hello.
09:19I mean, he's, he's been dealing with that his whole life, right?
09:23Like, he's just.
09:24Blue Ball?
09:25Yeah, it's not.
09:26Nope.
09:26Nobody's going to Blue Ball, right?
09:27It's just Blue Balls his whole life.
09:29Add nails in more than one way.
09:34Yeah, no, I, yeah, I'm with you, man.
09:36It is, it is, it is something I thought was going to be a work in progress.
09:40And the scary thing is, is, is now Hunter Brown and, and he joins Hader over there.
09:47They have got to figure some guys out.
09:49I don't know the pitching coach that has always been a strength for the Astros.
09:53They're going to need to figure something out here with, with, with that.
09:57Cause they have got to get this thing.
09:58Just, just, just get it.
09:59You're right with the offense.
10:01Just get it to.
10:02Okay.
10:02Yeah.
10:02Just not being the worst.
10:04I mean, here, here's the deal with, with the Astros is, is, I mean, it's a difficult fix.
10:10Cause you got so many things going on, right?
10:12But you, with this offense, you can still win games.
10:14Here's the deal though.
10:15From a pitching perspective, the, the, the quickest fix is because the big problem here with
10:20the Astros is, I mean, I think three of the five that you lost out of your five of the
10:24last six, you lost.
10:25I think three of the five losses, hell, I think, I think by the fourth or fifth inning,
10:28they were, they, they was out of reach.
10:30It was, it was, I mean, it was so far out of whack that it was going to be really
10:32hard
10:33for you to get back.
10:34Yeah.
10:34And now they came back and tied one up multiple times against the A's and went into extras
10:38and all that ended up losing.
10:38But, but like the, the, the, the problem is, the problem is, is you can't get a starter
10:43to get you to five or six without the game being five to one, right?
10:48Like if, if you can get, if Spencer Eric Getty comes in here, if, if, uh, JP France comes
10:54in here, if, if, uh, Tetsu IMI and, and, and, um, Lance McCullers, if, if they keep kind
11:00of doing what they're doing and they can get five or six out of those guys in the game, be
11:03tight, then I think your lineup is good enough to, to put you in position to, to, to have
11:08some confidence, at least when you do go to your bullpen, right?
11:11To give you a lead, give you a couple run lead.
11:13I think your offense is good enough.
11:14So I say all that to say, you're not going to fix all the problems.
11:16I don't know what they're going to do the bullpen.
11:18I have no idea.
11:19Uh, you, you can't, you can't fix the injuries overnight, obviously, but what you can do is
11:23you can get some of these starters that, that are either are getting their, their first
11:27shot this season or have shown some promise to get you into five or six with only giving
11:32up a couple of runs and, and have the game in, in, in good hands right there.
11:37When you turn it over, I think that would go a long way.
11:39They had a game against the A's where they were down 10 to one by the fourth.
11:43And then they had the game that they, they came back in, in, in, and try to get, it was
11:50they, uh, I think they were down five to nothing going into the fifth yesterday or their last
11:56game against the Rockies.
11:57They were down nine to one or down six to one by the second at the end of two.
12:02So like, yeah, those are, those are demoralizing even with their offense.
12:06Right.
12:06I mean, a couple of those games, I mean, I think Joe spotted through the towel in and
12:09got guys rest time at the ball game.
12:11And one of those games, you're done just had one at bat.
12:14Yeah.
12:14Yeah.
12:14So, I mean, like, like if we can just get our starters to keep the game in check, just
12:18give it, give us a run of two or three starts here where we get five or six innings, just
12:23a couple of runs.
12:23Give us, give us some quality starts, a couple of them here.
12:26And, and, and I think, I think you can get some things going.
12:29I think you can see some positive results, but I don't know what you're going to do with
12:33that bullpen.
12:33Well, I, what I know you can't do is keep taxing that ass with starters that don't go no more
12:37than one or two innings.
12:38Yeah.
12:38Text line coming through.
12:39It isn't going to matter what our pitching does.
12:41If we're only putting up one, one run per game, like we did the last bad timing on that
12:45right there.
12:46Bad time.
12:46Yeah.
12:47Yeah.
12:47I guess, but outside of the last two games, they have, they've led the, they've led the
12:54league and run scores coming into the, coming into, to yesterday or at the end of yesterday's
13:00game or their last game, they led the league and run scored.
13:03They led the league in almost every offensive category, except for batting average, which
13:08they were second behind the Dodgers.
13:09So this offense, yes, the last two games, we'll see if that becomes a trend where they're just
13:14going, run, run, I get that, but that's not what it has been.
13:17You just, your offense can't afford to have a night off at all.
13:20They scored, they scored 34 runs against the, uh, uh, the A's and lost the series.
13:29They went and there was an 11 nothing game in, in there and they lost the one game they
13:35won.
13:35They won 11 nothing.
13:37And then, so, I mean, like that is, that is, I don't know if it's the office, by the
13:42way, real quick, we know that Spencer Eric Getty is going to, to get the ball in one
13:47of these, Jason, Jason Alexander as well, potentially could be one their last couple
13:52of starts in Sugar Land, Spencer Getty, six innings, four hits, two runs to earn, uh, this
13:59week with seven K's.
14:00And then Jason Alexander, we talked about it as one of the best starts in the history
14:04of Sugar Land, uh, with the space Cowboys or the Skeeters, seven innings, three hits, no
14:11runs, one walk, three K's on Tyler.
14:14You won't make this up on 69 pitches.
14:15What was that?
14:16I cannot deal with that right now.
14:18On 69 pitches.
14:20He was able to do that for the Skeeters.
14:22Skeeters.
14:22Yeah.
14:23He, he, he, he, he went there and stayed on 69 and said, I'm coming out.
14:26Like who stops at 69 pitches in seven innings?
14:29He said, this is a masterpiece.
14:30We stopped at 69.
14:31I'm out.
14:32If you're going to come out before you get to a hundred 69 is the number.
14:35That's the number.
14:35Yeah.
14:36Seven innings.
14:37You got to feel like he still had, he still had a lot more in the tank.
14:39I got a little juice in me coach, but 69 pitches will do, but we know JP Francis has joined
14:44the team.
14:44Clint, what's your all joking aside?
14:46We might want to forget about going to a six man rotation.
14:49And one of them names you just rattled off.
14:51You, you, you named, you named three of them.
14:52We only need two of them.
14:54One of them might want to slide out of that pen.
14:56Might.
14:56Yeah.
14:56Maybe, maybe you might need some piggyback action here.
15:00I mean, blue bar, Roa, who else, who else they try to, Montez is already gone.
15:04I mean, Weiss, his wheels came off.
15:05I mean, damn, he gets another shot.
15:07You might, you might want to see if one of them cats that you just named can help you
15:10out of the bullpen for, for a little long relief.
15:12If you need it.
15:13Are you hopeful or looking at more of the same with these Eric Gettys, JP France, and maybe
15:19I'm hopeful.
15:20I mean, look, I'm hopeful whoever replaces Christian Javier can go more than one inning,
15:25can give you, you know, an outing where you don't give up five or six earned.
15:30Like, I, like I, I'm, I'm hopeful that that, that replacement, whoever that is, however
15:34they decide to do it, I'm, I'm hopeful that that replacement is going to be able to give
15:38you more than what Christian Javier was giving you this early this season.
15:41I know it was a small sample size, but damn, it didn't seem like it was getting any better.
15:44Yeah.
15:45Yeah.
15:45So I'd say hopeful.
15:47Yeah.
15:47Yeah.
15:47You're right.
15:48When you compare it to Christian Javier, boy.
15:49I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm.
