00:00We are going to address a session on women in OTT.
00:03OTT is a one such platform which is given scope to become more experimental if I can say so.
00:10Would you please describe a bit about the content which is the OTT content which is very different from the
00:18commercial things which easily run.
00:22Start.
00:23I think and I speak on behalf of all of us here in the sense that streaming platforms have been
00:30very crucial to kind of open the field, be more expansive, be more inclusive and allow for storytelling that's diverse,
00:38that's experimental.
00:39Having said that, it's wonderful that all of us have also had the opportunity to do work where we've had
00:46very exciting women, complex, layered, we've been able to play that on screen.
00:55And I think it's just about championing each other, supporting each other and yeah, it's a writer's medium.
01:02So that's the best part where the focus kind of all goes back to the text.
01:06Ma'am, would you speak about other themes which are now being taken care of and I'm talking about on
01:13different different platforms.
01:14We usually see that themes revolving around social justice and things like that are more concentrated upon.
01:21If you could speak something about the content.
01:23Well, that's, I don't know, I think I partially agree with you.
01:27Because it's not like that in films have never been raised on social reforms or social issues.
01:33If you look at all our films from Ranal Sen to Ghatak to Mahanagar to Devi, you know, we have
01:42had the history which has paved the way of making more stories now.
01:45So it's not like overnight we are making stories right now. It's been happening over decades.
01:50And with OTT it's great that we are taking a higher, you know, a bigger jump in, like she said,
01:57you know, it's more diverse and there are all kinds of stories and we are creating an audience base which
02:02is interested in such stories.
02:04And also audiences now watching all kinds of films and I would like to call them films and not content
02:09and stories from all over the world.
02:10So I think it's given us as actors a great opportunity to explore that and not be stuck to a
02:16particular kind of stories or films.
02:19So I think that's, that's something to definitely celebrate and celebrate women who are, who are doing wonderful work.
02:24And you know, it's very inspiring to watch Ma'am and Shreya doing such, such lovely work and I'm so
02:29happy to be with them.
02:30Ma'am, you are at International Film Festival in Delhi?
02:32Well, I just want to say it's the first one, International Film Festival of Delhi and look at the crowds
02:38coming and thronging.
02:39We didn't expect this crowd early in the morning on a Monday coming in says how much we all love
02:45cinema and to have a platform which, which is like giving everyone a chance to be together as actors, directors,
02:52writers, audience, journalists, everyone together on the same platform.
02:56So many students who are learning cinema coming and taking master classes, I think it's an amazing effort by the
03:02government and it should be loaded.
