00:00Good evening. Namaskar. How are you guys?
00:02Great ma'am.
00:04Ma'am, could you please talk to us about International Film Festival
00:07which is being organised in Delhi for the first time?
00:10Well, I have to start by congratulating everybody that's associated with this.
00:14I think Delhi, of all the places, really deserved an International Film Festival.
00:19I say that I'm always from Bombay.
00:22My spirit is completely Bombay, but my heart is in Delhi.
00:26And just the scale at which it's happening,
00:30the number of people that have attended the festival,
00:33the kind of talks, the kind of seminars, the kind of films,
00:36everything is really operating at such a high level
00:40and this is only the first year.
00:42And again, I want to congratulate everybody that's associated
00:45and I really hope that I can come here year after.
00:48Ma'am, with OTT platforms are moving,
00:51could you please tell us, have actors become more experimental
00:55which is, could we compare that to the original film?
01:00I think more than actors, it is the writing that has become more experimental
01:03because by the end of it, actors will only do the work that,
01:08where they get an opportunity,
01:09projects that they get an opportunity to be a part of, right?
01:12I feel with OTT, especially for women,
01:15the narrative has become a lot stronger
01:17because a lot of those shows, a lot of those films are led by women
01:20which is maybe shrinking in mainstream cinema.
01:23Unfortunately, it's really heartbreaking that that's happening.
01:26But at the same time, there's a rise of these platforms
01:29where we get great opportunities.
01:32So absolutely, I think women have always, anyways,
01:35been a lot more courageous
01:36and they are a lot more brave while choosing their scripts.
01:40And I think OTT just kind of gives them the right platform.
01:44Ma'am, what is the one skill which youngsters need
01:47to have to stay relevant in this industry?
01:50I think the biggest thing is that you should not stay relevant,
01:54you should just stay true to your craft
01:55because relevance is very, very short-lived.
01:57And it's exhausting.
01:59How long will you keep staying relevant?
02:01What's important is finding what your true talent is,
02:04understanding the artist in you
02:05and constantly doing RIA so that that never goes.
02:10Yes.
02:25Actually, I've been doing this many years
02:28when I've been growing, growing and growing
02:30and now I have reduced it a little,
02:32because as a woman,
02:33such as your age is growing,
02:35like your body's ability
02:36to take that weight gain and weight loss reduces, so now I prioritize my health and my body
02:44over the parts because at some age women have to start doing that.
02:48Prem, what do you want to do with your skin, what do you want to do with your skin, especially
03:00those women, because now we think that the world of films is very dangerous and bad, and
03:09they are not.
03:10In this world, many people have a lot of empowerment, a lot of women has become a lot of joy
03:17in this
03:18world.
03:18So I will say that if you have a dream, many people will say that you cannot do it, but
03:25you can listen to it, because I did not have permission to be in the world of films, but
03:31I was lucky.
03:32And always stay safe.
03:34It is very important to understand which people are right and which people are wrong.
03:39With that experience, it will be more important to your safety.
