00:20I mean, he came so close and it was a heartbreaker.
00:23And I think the last two years has been just exceptional riding from Seth Hamaker.
00:28And I think he has a lot to look forward to.
00:30And he's a huge threat for this championship.
00:35How about this guy, Devin Simonson?
00:39Having, I don't know, is it too much of a stretch to say a year of his career?
00:43No, 100% it is, without a doubt.
00:46He's having a great scrap with his Club MX teammate in Cody Shock.
00:52And he's almost broken into the top five in the mains.
00:56Best result, sixth.
00:58So, let's see if he can keep it going.
01:01You know, I think that Chad Reed gets a lot of credit for that.
01:05You know, with the knowledge that he has.
01:10And I think he's done a well done, a job well done.
01:15How about this guy, Evan Ferry?
01:17He had an incredible practice earlier today.
01:19And slowly been getting better in every part, if you look at it, his qualifying practice has gotten faster.
01:28And he just needs that one little chance, I believe, to get a good start in this heat race and
01:33run up front.
01:33I think that will really help him.
01:35He had a fall earlier today in the first session, first time out on track, but he was able to
01:40bounce back from that.
01:41Had a nice little chat to Daxton Benick earlier today.
01:44He's pretty pleased with this season, the way it started.
01:47Yeah.
01:47He's best ever star.
01:48Yeah, I mean, check that out.
01:49Super consistent, running around that top five area, running up in the podium position as well at times.
01:55And he's had a great season so far as well.
01:58We talk about the championship three, Davies, Hamaka, Shimoda.

03:01Seth was close there in the start, but the problem is, if you're coming into these right
03:06hand first corners, it's tough to brake and turn at the same time.
03:12And when you do that, it allows other guys to sneak up the inside if you get into the first
03:16corner too hot.
03:18There's a replay right here of Hamaka coming around that left-hander.
03:25He's going to make contact with Evan Ferry.

03:35Talked about Evan getting a good start in these heat races and giving that chance to run up
03:40with the front guys to learn the pace.
03:46Now, as tonight the night, we've seen this over the years with Nate Thrasher, there'll
03:51be a breakout moment along the course of the season, right?
03:54And really, tonight needs to be that night for Nate Thrasher.
03:57Well, and he is one of those guys, Lee, that can come out here and win.
04:01He's done it.
04:02I mean, he's beat all the best guys in the 250 class.
04:05Jet Lawrence, Hunter Lawrence, and these showdown races and triple crown.
04:10So he is, he's certainly capable of coming out here and dominating tonight like what he's
04:15doing right now.
04:16Just hasn't been able to do that in the last couple of years.
04:19He's fought some injuries, but the potential is there.
04:22Because all of the talk, obviously, and understandably, is about Hayden Deegan, Cole Davies, Michael
04:28Moseman before his injury.
04:30Michael was having a terrific season.
04:32And you talk about the teenager in Caden Duttony, and there's been lots of talk about everybody
04:37else other than Nate.
04:38But now is tonight going to be his moment?
04:41Well, and it's been that way every year, I feel like.
04:43Everybody knows that he can, he has the speed to win, but, you know, he's just had, you
04:49know, a couple of fumbles along the way.
04:52Look at Hamaker.
04:53Talk about progress.
04:54He is whipping through and making these passes very efficiently, effectively.
04:59Simonson is next on his list.
05:01And you heard, you heard about what Cole Davies said, how the track was slick.
05:07Yeah.
05:08Now these guys are probably drying up a little bit, and they're able to move around a lot
05:11more, especially Seth Hamaker will.
05:14Yeah, and we see the intensity that Seth has now as he starts to push to the front there
05:18and try to get past Devin Simonson.
05:20Talking to Seth earlier, this has been a very intentional thing.
05:24He's happy with his late race pace.
05:27But he's trying to find that balance between staying out of trouble.
05:30We saw that replay early on there in the early laps.
05:33Staying out of trouble and keeping the intensity as he gets it.
05:37And staying out of trouble as he goes down.
05:39That balance has been difficult for him, Lee and Ricky.
05:42And there we see it bite him.
05:44That is a lucky escape.
05:46That could have been really nasty.
05:48Yeah, I mean, he definitely hit hard.
05:50That was absolutely brutal.
05:52And it happened so quick.
05:55Again, like I said, Hunter Lawrence talked about how going through the rhythm lanes, this dirt
06:02is very sticky, and it's going to become challenging.
06:04And let's see what happens.

06:11And he overjumps that triple in the rhythm lane and gets kicked over the handlebars.

06:57These two guys, they're only five points apart from each other in the championship standings.

07:05For Cody Shock, every one of his four results this year has been in the top ten.

07:12So this is a really good intra-team rivalry.

07:15And you can tell they're probably doing a lot of the same stuff at Club MX because, like
07:20you just talked about, they're marrying their finishes.

07:31So looking a little further down the order, Evan Ferry, Gavin Towers, Marshall Welton, Luke
07:36Nees, they are all in the top nine.
07:39So they're all going straight through to the main as we stand here right now with just 40
07:44seconds remaining.
07:45And this would be big for Hamaker.
07:47He is able to get by Benick and Simonson just for that gate position.
07:53Six points back out of the championship.
07:55He's going to go right by Benick.
07:56Gets a better drive out of the corner.
07:58Carries more entry speed into the Wolves and off he goes.
08:01Now he's going to set his sights on Simonson.
08:04And I believe if he can just stay right here, he'll be able to get Simonson in the same spot
08:09that he didn't get Benick if it doesn't happen beforehand.
08:13If he isn't able to make the move in this rhythm lane right here, it's going to get pretty
08:17narrow up until they get before the Wolves.
08:19This is where it came undone for him a little earlier with that overjump.
08:23A lot more rhythmic that time.
08:26As Seth Hamaker gets by Devin Simonson.
08:29Yeah, Simonson clipped the backside of that tabletop, wasn't able to triple.

08:35That's how he was able to make the pass.

08:49to be the tail of the tape and the separator, but they have somewhat evened out, which if
08:55you're not good at the Wolves, you're probably really happy about that.
08:58But if you're a guy like Cole Davies, it takes a massive advantage out of what you would
09:03have had against your competitors.
