00:00Hello, in this video we are going to show you how to set up your user roles and
00:07permissions in the hospital management system. So from the home page when you go
00:13to the HMS module you need to navigate to the settings menu. So just click on
00:20settings then you go to user roles. So what you do on these user roles is to be
00:26able to assign the specific aspects of this HMS module that each individual or
00:34personnel will be able to have access to. For example, you want nurses to have
00:39access to patients record but not the laboratory to you know enter test details.
00:46Maybe that is only supposed to apply to the lab assistants or lab personnel. So
00:52you can set up this from this section. You can set it up from this section and how
00:57you do that is first there are rules you need to create them first. So you have
01:01three tabs here. You have users, roles and whole users. All users basically shows you
01:08all the staff you have added on the software. So whether they are medical
01:12officers or the agile staff or general staff of the clinic or hospital. Basically
01:20every staff reflects here and their email address. Then what you need to do is set
01:27up your roles. Create the roles. So you can create okay let's say lab assistants.
01:36Right. And you can enter a description if applicable. You can enter a description of what a lab assistant
01:43does or not. Or you can leave it. I believe it's optional. So when you save and create the
01:49role. Then you will need to go back to the role tab again. Then assign those that are the lab
01:56assistants. So you click on action on that role. Click on actions. Then click on
02:02assign to user. So click on this option assign to user. When you do so it shows you this pop
02:08up where you can select
02:09who are the users you are assigning to the role. So you can basically select each of the user or
02:16personnel that are under this role lab assistant.
02:20That is you can select those that are lab assistants and submit. So when you have done this then you
02:26can also then set a
02:27permission for the permission for the role. Which means that any permission you set to this lab assistant role would
02:34automatically apply to all the users you have assigned to that role. So under this users tab you will find
02:42all the
02:43users you have assigned to a role. So you can see the user name and the role you assign to
02:49them. The user name and the
02:51role you assign to them. Now when you assign them to the role you still need to set permission. So
02:59it is by setting the
03:00permission that gives them access to the specific areas you want them to have access to. So when you click
03:06on
03:06set permission then it goes to this page where all the different sections of the hospital management system is listed.
03:14So you
03:15can basically select the features you want them to have access to. So if this lab assistant is supposed
03:23to have you know let's say partial record partial access to the patient record you know you can
03:30basically check the the features you are giving them access to. If they are supposed to have access to
03:36appointments maybe not right. If they are supposed to have access to medical officer creation or adjusting medical
03:43details you can also grant those assets. So you will grant the assets based on you know the
03:50responsibilities of these personnels you are setting permission for. So for a lab assistant for example
03:56they probably need all the assets here under the laboratory section. So this is how you apply all the
04:03different permissions that a role should have. Then in those roles are assigned to the user. So that is
04:13how it goes. Once you select all the features this person should have access to you can basically click on
04:20save changes. Right. Then once you have done that the permission is set. And it means all the people you
04:29have
04:29assigned to that role would have those permissions we just set. So this is what you need to do for
04:34different roles like doctors, like nurses and so on. So you will assign the
04:41personnels that belongs to those roles. Then you will set permission of what they should have access to to the
04:48roles.
04:48We wonŃ—rome us.
04:50Here we go.
