00:00What we've seen these last few weeks, I mean, amongst other things, is that the global economy has, to some
00:07extent, been torpedoed.
00:08Inflation has been driven up everywhere, including in the United States.
00:12And from the beginning, I mean, there were people in America who weren't at all happy about this conflict, including
00:17on the political right, saying it wasn't at all America first.
00:20Now here we are, sort of nearly four weeks on.
00:23I mean, what has been the political blowback as far as the Trump White House is concerned?
00:28I'd say the biggest consternation has been the price of fuel, because it's affecting really every part of the American
00:38life.
00:38Of course, every time you go to the fuel to pump gas in your car, you feel that.
00:43But now you see the price of diesel has risen by nearly 50 percent or thereabouts.
00:50And the price of diesel is very indicative of how much the cost of goods will ultimately go up, because
00:57that's how goods are transported.
00:58So I think that's a really important indicator.
01:02Obviously, President Trump is feeling this.
01:04Obviously, members of Congress, when they go back home, they are getting complaints, people feeling the hurt every time they
01:13go to pump gas.
01:14I say we're lucky that the winter season's over because we would really be hurting if fuel, I'm sorry, if
01:22the price of heating oil would have been skyrocketing like this.
01:26People couldn't afford to heat their homes.
01:28So it's a dire situation with regards to that.
01:32Now, some people in the Republican Party will say, well, these were the prices during the Biden administration at the
01:37pump.
01:38So really, people are just making to do about nothing.
01:42I think the problem is, is that we are in a reelection cycle for all the House members, a third
01:48of the Senate.
01:49And this is the biggest issue right now, fueling it, of course, added inflation to that, add the uncertainty of
01:57war.
01:58Everyone clams up because people are worried about their future.
