00:00But do you see this Iran war as being a NATO conflict?
00:03Because NATO, I think by most people's understanding,
00:06is principally concerned with the security of territories in the Euro-Atlantic area,
00:12not in the Strait of Hormuz.
00:14I mean, does Mr. Trump, does his administration have a different understanding
00:19of what NATO's purpose is, do you think?
00:21You know, it's a defensive alliance, depending on after 9-11, as you recall.
00:26NATO came and joined in the defense of America after the attack on the World Trade Center
00:32and the Pentagon, and the response included NATO,
00:39because Article 5 said attack on one nation is attack on all NATO nations.
00:45And that has been tested, it's been argued about,
00:51but it has sustained decades of peace around the world.
00:56NATO alliance is what stood down the Soviet Union
00:59and their aggressive actions to dominate Europe.
01:04And it's still a good deal for Americans to be a part of NATO.
01:08That's why the Congress and the Senate passed a law
01:11that the President can't unilaterally withdraw from NATO.
01:15So this will get back into the Congress once they get some backbone,
01:20and we'll stay in NATO is what my suspicion is.
01:25That's why the President can't unilaterally to you.
01:26It may be an United States of theu and the United States.
01:27it's the nicht-ranked government system.
01:27On the actual government's right now,
01:29So this has been the EUA and the European Union.
