00:00You talking to me? What are we talking about? Hi, my name is Kathy. I'm a keeper
00:06here at the San Diego Zoo and today we're going to be talking about talk-ins.
00:14We have a nice little family of Sichuan talk-ins. This little guy's name is
00:19Sean Poe and what that means in Chinese is hillside. Sean Poe, he's a little
00:24adventuresome guy. He's exploring right now. He's doing this little talk-ins like
00:28to do. Jump and play and snort and harass his mother. Well he's not quite a month
00:35old but he loves to climb rocks. Their bodies are designed mainly for climbing
00:40steep hillsides in the higher elevations of China. So they have to have very strong
00:45bodies and well-defined hooves. As a little baby they like to put things in their
00:51mouth. One of his favorite toys is a large palm leaf. So he's starting to experiment
00:57and you'll be seeing him eating a little bit of leaf browse.
01:10Sometimes talk-ins like to groom themselves so it's not unusual to see him maybe chewing
01:15a little bit on his shoulder, his body. It's a way to get rid of the itch and to clean
01:20himself.
01:21But most importantly what talk-ins like to do, and he's starting to do it a little bit right
01:26now is they like to body rub on trees and on walls and on rocks. That's a talking
01:32thing. They love to scent mark with their bodies and as he gets older you'll see
01:38him doing this more and more.
01:39a little bit more.
01:48You
