Canberrans talk about changes they are making to cope with the increasing costs of fuel.
Transcript
00:00I'm out here at a shopping precinct in the inner south of Canberra talking to people today about how petrol
00:05prices are affecting their daily habits and cost of living.
00:09In the last week, as the diesel price has reached over $3, people have been telling me they'd definitely be
00:15feeling a fit.
00:16One mum said that she's limited the amount of weekly family trips she's doing, choosing instead to stay at home
00:22with her kids.
00:23Justin and Margaret's family told me that all of their cars have been turned onto eco mode.
00:28So they can try and save as much fuel as possible.
00:31They've said they've definitely been walking around Marnicaw, choosing to only use the car for essential trips.
00:38And they'll check the price of petrol to make sure they're going to the cheapest place.
00:42The car wash owner here has said he's seen a dramatic drop in customers.
00:47Mostly he has regular people coming through and they're trying to extend how often they're getting their car detailed and
00:53washed.
00:53Three weeks has turned into five weeks and the cars are coming in much dirtier as people try to find
00:59savings.
01:00With Easter approaching and people making plans to visit their families or head out of Canberra for the weekend,
01:06Robin told me she's seriously reconsidering her plans.
01:10The south coast might look a little quieter as people please not to take the drive.
01:14I don't know if he thinks it is because of the long journey.
01:14from my beloved teacher and my brother, I'm sorry there for the time to take the drive.
01:15So I thought that that was so acute relief as choice and my child کی éstay,
01:17I was unclear because an achievers are in connection with a century and that future
