01:00I think that's really what sets it apart from CNC3 where you really only had kind of the tank blob
01:04gameplay to go with.
01:05Another one of the challenges in being a single player mission designer in Command & Conquer 4 was figuring out
01:10how to make the game fun for all three different classes.
01:12The first thing to know is that any of our missions can be used with any of the classes and
01:17you'll still be able to complete that mission.
01:19You'll have to approach it in a very different way depending on what class you choose.
01:22You don't, you know, make it more difficult for yourself by picking support instead of offense or defense.
01:27It's actually been one of the key focuses of our development.
01:30In fact, during the mission, if you don't like how it's working out with your chosen class,
01:34you can auto-destruct your crawler and respawn as a different class.
01:39It's a great way for our campaign to really use any of those classes and approach the mission.
01:44But they all have their different play styles, which you have to take advantage of.
01:47Rest, my son.
01:49Your suffering has not been in vain.
01:53So how do GDI and Nod differ in terms of campaign in C&C 4?
02:00Well, we've actually taken an approach that's a little bit old school,
02:03where either way, when you start the campaign, you start out as a GDI commander.
02:07Shortly into the campaign, you are presented with a choice.
02:11Do you stay with GDI?
02:12Welcome, commander.
02:14Or do you realign yourself with Cain?
02:16The hub is ours.
02:18And so the missions are going to be a bit different in that way,
02:21that the Nod ones are going to be revealing a bit more of what's really happening.
02:24Next time, puppet. Next time.
02:27Whereas the GDI ones is a bit more on the side of what Cain wanted the world to think,
02:32and what Cain wanted the world to really believe is going on.
02:35As you play through the Nod campaign, you'll realize it's a bit of a twist
02:38about what Cain's plan really is.
02:40It's epic, it is the conclusion, and it doesn't mean that the universe is over,
02:45but this particular storyline, the storyline that began in Tib Dawn, is coming to a close.
02:50And along the way, you will learn some significant things about Cain.
02:54What does Cain mean when he talks about ascension?
02:57You know, how long has he actually been on Earth, and why is he here?
03:00What influence has he had in that time?
03:03So I don't want to spoil things, but if you play through both the GDI and the Nod campaign,
03:08you're really going to have that complete answer to what the whole saga is about.
03:16So player progression is one of the really cool things in Command & Conquer 4.
03:19So as you start off the game, when you just install it,
03:21and you're kind of starting your profile from scratch,
03:24you are going to be a bit limited in what you have.
03:26But as you play through the campaign, you'll be unlocking all new weapon components,
03:31all new units and powers and structures.
03:33And the thing that's cool about that is, say, maybe you're playing along as offense for a while
03:37and really having fun with that class, and then you level up,
03:40and say you unlock some new structures for the defense class,
03:43you're then kind of compelled to go try defense and see what they're all about.
03:46And then you unlock some powers, and you're compelled to go try support,
03:48and you see why that's a really cool and unique class.
03:51So it's a great way to have you kind of jump between these different classes
03:54without overwhelming the player from the start.
03:56Player progression isn't limited at all in the single-player campaign,
03:59which is an especially awesome thing if you're having trouble with one of the single-player missions.
04:03You can take it down a notch in difficulty, get some new toys,
04:06and then go back in and just roll over everybody.
04:10Ultimately, I think our single-player missions this time around
04:12are going to be very different, they're going to be very unique,
04:15and they're going to be very interesting.
04:16What you're going to see that's different is you're going to see
04:19a class system that lets you really choose how you approach a mission,
04:23a player progression system that rewards you for playing the game,
04:27and then you're also going to see AI-driven missions
04:30where it's less about what the designer wants you to do
04:33and more about how you use the various tactical options we give you
04:37to achieve your goals.
04:39And these all work together to create a much more flexible,
04:42intriguing campaign experience.
04:44And there's an awesome story, too.
04:45So we're very excited to bring the conclusion of the Tiberium Saga
04:48with Command & Conquer 4.
04:49We've really put a lot of heart, a lot of effort,
04:52into finalizing this chapter,
04:54really putting that into the single-player campaign and those missions.
04:57We're going to be on shelves March 16th,
04:59and I hope you check it out.
