00:00Last time on Fast and Loud.
00:06Hot rod hunter Richard Rawlings and master mechanic Aaron Kaufman
00:10went all out to build a Chevy Silverado C10 for the Cattle Baron's ball.
00:15You just got the carte blanche from Ricardo.
00:18With a free pass to make this truck super cool.
00:21Their jig turned into a major job.
00:24This could have gone better.
00:26Now as the monkeys boogie on the C10.
00:28Oh god, it doesn't fit.
00:30Richard might be going stag to this billionaire's ball.
00:34You think we can make it?
00:35Then it's monkey versus monkey when a 66 Lincoln is on the line.
00:40How much is this pig?
00:41Dollar a pound.
00:43But he finds a buyer just a two-step away.
00:46How much do you take for it to make you?
00:48And ropes in a certain Swede always itching to buy.
00:51I could give it 10.
00:52It's a $4,000 loss.
00:54With only days to spare will the C10 Dream Build get to the ball
00:58on time.
00:59Or will Richard's master plan fall flat on the floor?
01:04Everything was running fine and it just kind of stopped.
01:08Godly.
01:14So here's the deal campers.
01:16Last week I set Aaron and his monkeys loose on a C10 Silverado.
01:20Chevy Silverado.
01:20The plan is pure marketing genius.
01:23I mean, I'm going to give Aaron carte blanche to build the show truck of his dreams.
01:26And then I'm going to take it to the charity auction at the Cattle Baron's Ball where there's
01:30just too many Texans with big belt buckles and big wallets.
01:33One of them will buy the C10 because they just got to have it.
01:36The money goes to charity.
01:38Gas Monkey makes a huge impression on all the rich dudes that wanted it and got outbid.
01:43They'll be calling Gas Monkey to build them a car and that makes me my investment back and a lot
01:47more cash over.
01:48The way I see it, it's a foolproof plan.
01:52Golly, transmission's unhappy about that.
01:55But the ball is only two weeks away and we're already falling behind and that's starting to
01:59make me nervous because this is a drop dead day.
02:01And if the headache wasn't enough, one of the monkeys, well, he's being a real pain in the ass.
02:07Aaron, the hood, he says it's warped.
02:11And you said you'd rather have the original hood than an aftermarket hood.
02:15Well then the aftermarket hood has to be fitted.
02:17The problem is aftermarket stuff, I don't feel ever fits worth a damn.
02:20So you're going to take the hood that you do have, despite the waviness of that hood,
02:23I know it can sling some Bondu because I've seen it on some other cars.
02:26And so we're going to carry on that route.
02:28And if you don't want to paint it, then we can have someone else.
02:31But the deal is-
02:31I never said I didn't want to paint it.
02:33The deal is that there's a lot of work to be done and we all agreed.
02:35And roll like that?
02:37Cool.
02:38Let's just make a out of it.
02:40What else is doing?
02:45You're sitting there.
02:48Them over there are behind and it's going to fall on me to finish it.
02:52Well, that's not my problem.
02:54I didn't like him storming up.
02:56That's not a thing to do.
02:58If they can't pull their end together, it's not going to fall on me.
03:01I'm going to go ahead and fix it because that's what I was told to do and he's my boss.
03:04But, you know, if there's an issue with it, it's on him, not me.
03:16So, as everybody knows, Casey really wasn't happy with the hood when we got it back from Sandblaster.
03:21He said something to Aaron about it and Aaron kind of got in his ass a little bit.
03:24Well, whatever Aaron said to him kind of lit a fire under his ass because
03:28he came over here and he body worked it and he got it pretty damn close.
03:33I mean, the hood looks really good.
03:39I'm actually proud of Casey on this one.
03:40Even though he got his ass yelled at, he came through.
03:42So, I think it's going to be a good hood.
03:46I can dig it.
03:50This doesn't seem near as bad as someone stomped their feet about.
03:54No, this is a lot better.
03:56Gap on it looks incredibly reasonable too.
03:58We've test fit the hood and everything looks great.
04:01So, we finally feel we're at a point that we can move forward.
04:05What can I say?
04:05I can't help but do a good job.
04:07You give me roadkill, I'll make a roadkill salad and a mighty tasty one at that.
04:12It's freaking heavy, isn't it?
04:13Yep.
04:16All right.
04:17So, today we're kind of where we were hoping to be yesterday.
04:22We've got the new bed in March and Neck, dude.
04:25Keenan's been working on it.
04:27Since the old bed floor was beat up, we bought a new one that was beat up.
04:31Now, I'm going to have to go to pound town on this floor to straighten it out as best I
04:34can.
04:43Come on, Jason.
04:44Watch those tires.
04:45Lift up.
04:47Yeah, this is so sketchy.
04:48Okay.
04:50So, we think we've found where the bed's going to live.
04:52So, right now, Keenan's going to tack all the bed mounts onto the frame.
04:56If you're square, where you're at now is a good place.
04:58The other night, I finished the transmission tunnel, you know, fitting it and bending all the pieces.
05:04Dustin's been working on trimming up a couple things and getting them all welded in.
05:07That's just about done.
05:09Everything looks great.
05:12The cab, the bed, the front benders, everything's going to be blasted.
05:15So, we're finally going to move on to paint and body.
05:18I don't think the four of us are going to get this.
05:19I don't either.
05:20Let's try.
05:21Whoa, hey, hey, hey, let's wait on everybody.
05:24What?
05:26Watch that jack handle.
05:27The biggest reason we've gone through all this much effort is so that possibly on final assembly,
05:32everything will go as smooth as possible.
05:39Building a, you know, a nice little custom truck in four weeks is incredibly difficult,
05:43and to do it with fewer problems is even more difficult.
05:46So, our goal is to get as much figured out now, so we have less to figure out later.
05:50We'll see if we're lucky and smarter.
05:57With all the money going into the C-10, I need some cash to keep the AC running.
06:00I mean, it's hot here in Dallas.
06:02Well, I just got a call about a car that's not too far away,
06:05and it sounds like a quick flip that'll make me some quick cashier.
06:07This guy, I guess, is in real estate and tried to buy a house that they were going to tear
06:11down,
06:11and it turns out that he didn't get the house, even though he bid a million dollars for this thing.
06:16Average junker down here is about two mil.
06:18I think that'd just get you kind of just off a bungalow.
06:21But in the garage is a 1966 Lincoln two-door hardtop that he did get.
06:26I guess it's a one owner.
06:28Hasn't ran and drove him forever.
06:29I don't know.
06:30It's a Lincoln, and it's 10 miles from shop.
06:32Correct.
06:33Typically, they come in two ways.
06:35Good, really bad.
06:37Yeah.
06:39The Continental, well, it was designed by Elwood Engel,
06:42and he was Ford's design chief of that era.
06:44And in 66, Elwood gave this car an all-new sheet metal exterior,
06:48a redesigned interior, and for the first time, even a tape layer.
06:52Good job, Elwood.
06:57That dang sure ain't a 66.
06:59No, more like an 86.
07:02So when we get there, I'm walking to the back of the house.
07:04I see another Lincoln.
07:05I'm like, does this guy not know the difference between like 85 or so and 1966?
07:10What's going on, sir?
07:11Got a Lincoln I want you to look at.
07:12Richard Rawlings.
07:13Hey, Greg Brindle.
07:13My name's Greg.
07:14I was interested in the house out of the estate.
07:17Didn't get the house, but I got the 66 Lincoln that was sitting in the garage.
07:21So that's like an 80-something.
07:22Where's the 66?
07:23In here?
07:23Good one's right in here.
07:24How long has it been in here?
07:2525 years.
07:29It's the right color.
07:30Wow, that's pretty cool.
07:32I thought it was going to have a continental hump in the back of it.
07:34Maybe I got my ears wrong, but...
07:37Inside the garage is the one I came to look for.
07:39Real, true, one owner, 1966, two-door hardtop, green on green, sitting in the garage.
07:45Full of dirt and mouses and flat tires and junk and doesn't run.
07:52Horrible.
07:52I'm missing the back window trim.
07:58The color on is rad, though.
08:00Yeah, it is.
08:01It's pretty cool.
08:02It's a smooth trunk, coupe, hardtop, a little dent here.
08:07See, you bought this from the estate.
08:09The car, the house, everything, all original, same owner.
08:12Yeah.
08:13Paid $2,000 for the Lincoln, but I think Richard might be interested in paying a little bit more,
08:19so we'll see what happens.
08:21I'd like to try to get four or five out of it.
08:25How much is this pig?
08:28I was thinking dollar a pound, $5,100.
08:33Greg trying to be, I guess, funny, told me a dollar a pound, and it's about 5,100 pounds.
08:38It's not going to fly in my book.
08:40Does it have keys?
08:42No keys.
08:43No keys.
08:44I don't know, Aaron.
08:46That's a lot.
08:47I like it.
08:47I think it's a great car.
08:51I mean, obviously, we've got some damage over here.
08:52Well, I don't think it's worth that, man.
08:55I think it's worth about $3,500.
08:59I'd do $42.
09:00Kind of that's what I got into it, and just want to get rid of it, get my money back
09:05out.
09:05I think the car's a strong $3,500 car, but that's about it.
09:09Plus, somebody's going to have to get it out of there, and that's not going to be easy.
09:12So I'd say $3,500 like it sits.
09:16$66,000.
09:17One owner.
09:21Ugly, dented, doesn't run, missing chrome.
09:28I don't know.
09:30How about $4,000?
09:31$4,000.
09:32It's yours.
09:33Cool.
09:34All right.
09:35Doubled my money, even though it was only a couple thousand.
09:37I wasn't interested in the car.
09:39I was trying to buy this house, and I kind of got the Lincoln as the
09:43a little bit of a booby prize based on its condition.
09:46So now Richard's the boob, I guess.
09:51Golly, I don't even know how to go about getting it out, Aaron.
09:54Right here.
09:56A little piece at a time.
10:00Buying and selling old cars for a while now, and typically we get a good deal because people
10:05selling it don't have any idea how to remove it from the place it's in.
10:08Really, it's just a matter of leverage.
10:11Yeah, I'd have never figured this one out by myself.
10:16No.
10:18There, come on, come on.
10:21Stop.
10:23Stop, stop, stop, stop, stop.
10:25Release it.
10:26We actually get it around the side of the house, only to realize that being on flats and our trailer
10:32being so tall, there was no way we were actually going to get it up on it and still have
10:36the back
10:36half of the car intact.
10:37I think we're going to have to call it on this one.
10:39Well, let's pull it out to the open where the rollback can get it, and we'll just have Chris
10:41grab it and bring it.
10:43So I called Chris over at SWAT.
10:44He's the tow truck driver, and I told him to stop by, get four used tires as long as they
10:49sort of resemble each other and they fit on the car.
10:52That way when it gets there, we can roll it around and see what we're working with.
10:54At the end of the day, it's a decent looking car.
10:56I think I might have paid a couple of hundred bucks too much for it, but if it does get
10:59running and driving, I think it'll sell just like it sits.
11:02Maybe a good clean job, wax job, and actual tires that will match, and the hubcaps back on it,
11:07and the chrome pieces that are missing, but I can get there.
11:09It's what I did.
11:10Well, we got the hard part done.
11:11We got it out.
11:12All right, good job.
11:13A lot of work.
11:14I know, and all you did was just stand there, dude.
11:16It was easy.
11:18All right, man.
11:18Thanks a lot, Dane.
11:20Coming up on Fast and Loud, the monkeys get pumping on the C10.
11:25Something's all right.
11:25Welcome to Gas Monkey Garage.
11:27And Richard sweats out a deal with one of his own.
11:30Well, how much to me today?
11:31You trying to out-gas-monkey me?
11:36Back it up real fast and hit the brakes.
11:37The frame is back from the powder coat,
11:39so the guys can start reassembling all the suspension and the drivetrain.
11:42Come on, mijo.
11:44Well, good for them.
11:46There's less than two weeks before this truck's got to be delivered to the cattle baron's ball,
11:49and I don't have a cab to work on.
11:52So I guess I'll be helping these monkeys unload their frame.
11:57Watch it, Stitch.
11:57You're about to get plowed, dude.
11:59How many times have you told Stitch that?
12:01We're going to build this truck.
12:03We'll see y'all later.
12:08We got the chassis back today.
12:10We are hanging all the suspension.
12:12We need to get the airbags in.
12:14We want to get the shocks, the tires.
12:16We want to have it exactly like it was when we mocked it up,
12:18plus the transmission and motor completely in the car.
12:21And something's not right.
12:23Do you remember how Aaron said whatever you take off the truck,
12:25you're going to put back on the truck?
12:27Mm-hmm.
12:27Did Aaron not put all this together the first time?
12:29Mm-hmm.
12:29And now here we are trying to figure out what's what.
12:31Welcome to Gas Monkey Garage.
12:40So I got this baby blue 51 Cadillac Coupe DeVille.
12:43I bought it online and I was hoping it would be a big build,
12:45maybe even painted green.
12:47Damn.
12:47I really need some quick cash to make up for the money I'm
12:49throwing at the C10 for the cattle baron's ball.
12:52Uh, sold it.
12:53No, Magnus?
12:54Well, he's buying every Cadillac inside to take back to Sweden.
12:56So, hell, last week he just about stole my 1965 convertible DeVille from me,
13:01so he already knows I'm desperate and he'll probably take me to the cleaners
13:04knowing that I'm drowning with the C10.
13:07So the monkeys, well, they got to get it running before Magnus leaves in just a couple of days
13:11and I can sell it to him and I can keep the money.
13:13He can take the car to Sweden.
13:15Bye.
13:17Oh, you scared the hell out of me.
13:20Cool.
13:20So this is the 51 Caddy, right?
13:22That's it?
13:23Yeah.
13:23Have you had it running yet at all?
13:24No, we just literally pushed it in here an hour ago.
13:27I spent 14 Gs on this 51 Cadillac and I need that 14 Gs back
13:31because the C10 is sucking me dry and I'm not going to make a scent on it.
13:35Go through it front to back.
13:36That way I can say, hey, this works, this doesn't.
13:38It's ready for sale.
13:39See you all night.
13:41The 1951 Cadillac Coupe DeVille was the third in the Series 62 lineup
13:44and it was the first one that was pillarless, which means hardtop.
13:48The 1951 Coupe DeVille was also the first year that the chrome Coupe DeVille script was introduced.
13:55How about this?
13:56Is this factory?
13:57Do you get a jump rope with your fuel hose?
13:59It's a nice fuel pump we got going on there.
14:02Wow.
14:03It's some kind of black voodoo magic.
14:06Normally, the fuel pump on our 51 Caddy is located on the front of the motor.
14:10Tinkle, tinkle.
14:10I'm not sure what the original owner had going on with this thingamabob.
14:13That gas is not good, but it was blowing my mind.
14:17Tinkle, tinkle.
14:17We're just going to take off the hacky stuff that somebody else has done,
14:21put some new lines on it, and see where we're at.
14:29Hey, Jason.
14:29I got that part of the fuel line fixed.
14:33It doesn't spin.
14:34It's a trip.
14:34Huh?
14:35You're not going home early with an injury.
14:46The cab is finally back from the blaster, and Richard and Aaron both have their panties
14:49in a bunch over this C-10.
14:51Richard, because the deadline to the cattle baron's ball is almost here,
14:54and Aaron, because he just doesn't think I want to get the job done or something.
14:57Well, they've thrown down the gauntlet, and I'm going to show them that I am on board.
15:01I can get the paint and body work done, and I can get it done right.
15:14If you watch our show, you know that it kind of falls on the paint and body guys to knock
15:18us out, so we're going to hustle through this.
15:20We're going to focus on the cabin doors first.
15:22There's nothing to do with the bed and not much in the front end, so if they get the cabin
15:25doors
15:25back, they can pretty much build it, and that'll relieve a lot of the pressure off of us to knock
15:30out the rest of the parts.
15:37Richard has decided to bring this truck to the cattle bearings ball here in Dallas.
15:41All the benefits go to cancer research.
15:45Millionaires, even hell even billionaires, come to look at these cars.
15:48These guys got money. Those are the customers we want.
15:51First thing you see when you walk up to it is going to be the paint, not the motor, not
15:54the interior,
15:55not the suspension that you can't see, because it's going to be this far off the ground.
15:58So, we have to make sure the paint looks good, so they'll be willing to fork out some funds.
16:04This is what I put in my time to shine.
16:17So, we've got just over a week to get the C10 finished and get it to the ball on time.
16:21You know, Richard's poured a ton of money into this build.
16:24If I don't get it done on time, he's going to kick my ass all the way back to Oklahoma.
16:32There's stuff right there.
16:36So, we've got the chassis almost complete now.
16:39Everything's painted, everything's powder-coated the way it needs to be.
16:41It goes together a lot simpler than the last few that we've had issues with.
16:46Now, what he just said will jinx the out of us.
16:49What he meant to say was, hopefully, when we put everything together, things go better.
16:53Hopefully, yes.
17:06He's in my damn spot.
17:12So, we get back from lunch, and we're the first ones back.
17:14I kind of thought I'd get my parking spot back, and there's a Lincoln in the way.
17:18Looks like it's been sitting somewhere for a long ass time.
17:21What, 68, 66?
17:22Man, I don't know much about Lincolns, to be honest with you.
17:24I don't either. It looks cool. What do these things come with them? A 460?
17:28It looks like they had a bowling ball in the back of the car.
17:33And it looks like a pawn shop in the back of the car.
17:37City Slickers 2.
17:38A pile of nuts and bolts.
17:39Willie May's picture.
17:40Where does he find this at?
17:42That color's dope, dude.
17:43I could do some cool with this.
17:44White walls, lay the up.
17:47So, I don't know much about Lincolns.
17:48For some reason, this one's kind of got my attention, though.
17:54Speak of the devil.
17:56That's a hell of a parking spot.
17:58I kind of own the whole thing.
17:59What are you numbskulls doing around my Lincoln?
18:01I was checking it out.
18:03Did you finally buy something cool?
18:04Well, it took us about an hour and a half to get out of the garage where it was at,
18:07man.
18:08What's plans with it?
18:09Sell it.
18:10That's what I do.
18:12I could tell Casey was kind of digging it because he's asking more questions than he ever does.
18:16Now, I haven't touched this car other than dragging it out of the garage.
18:19And Casey's over there with hopeful eyes.
18:22How much you pay for it?
18:23I kind of feel like I overpaid for it.
18:25Um, four thousand bucks.
18:28I don't think he really overpaid for it.
18:30I don't think Richard actually even knows how much he's got here.
18:33I think the car's worth more than he thinks it is.
18:35Why is this side on?
18:36Why I came out in the hot sun talking to you two numbskulls when y'all should be in there
18:39working?
18:39I can't let Richard know that I'm actually really interested in this car.
18:42I've been around him long enough to know that you got to kind of have your poker face.
18:46How much you take for it as is to me today?
18:51You sucker burn every minute.
18:53Maybe sometimes that sucker works for gas money.
18:55You know, part of the car business is just knowing when you screw up and knowing to get off the
18:59car.
18:59So I overpaid for this beast and I'm going to let Casey have the problems of fixing it
19:03and figuring out what to do with it.
19:05I'm just going to sell it to him quick now.
19:06I need the cash and I need it right now.
19:08Give me four G's and something profit and we'll call it done.
19:12Keep him out here a little bit longer.
19:13He's sweating.
19:14I think if he sweats a little bit longer, he's going to keep going.
19:16What is this?
19:17Are y'all going to gang up and try to out gas monkey me?
19:19Hey, this is the deal.
19:20All right, we got a deal.
19:21I'll let you go inside so you can get inside and do whatever it is you do in the air
19:24conditioning.
19:24I'll give you 4,000 bucks.
19:26I'll give you a case of beer, but you got delivered to my house.
19:32You know what?
19:33I think I overpaid.
19:34You own it.
19:34All right.
19:344,000 bucks.
19:35And I need that in cash.
19:36And I ain't financing it either out of your check.
19:38Well, I need it delivered.
19:38Thanks for helping with the negotiation.
19:40No problem.
19:40No problem.
19:41I think I came out like a bandit on this one.
19:43I need it home tonight too.
19:44So I don't see $4,000.
19:46Yeah, I'll have it to you.
19:47Hey, we put those keys in the car.
19:49Yeah, let me take care of that for you.
19:51$4,000 is a good deal in my book.
19:52So I'm going to go ahead and buy it, take it home, clean it up,
19:55show them some pictures, and maybe even sell it back to him after I'm done with it.
19:59Hey, the beer store's the other way.
20:01And make sure it's cold.
20:07Coming up on Fast and Loud.
20:09With the ball just around the bend, the monkeys keep on trucking.
20:12We still only got like six or seven days.
20:15And Richard rumbles into fired up garage with one thing on his mind.
20:19Rent, man.
20:27So on this week's edition of Painted Green, it was a solid green truck when it came in.
20:32It didn't have a whole lot of pop, but it was also an old color.
20:35It was a little faded.
20:35We're going to put a white stripe down the side of it just to kind of break it up a
20:38little bit.
20:38So here we are, paint day.
20:40It's still green, but it's a really cool color.
20:43The new color is going to be very vibrant.
20:45I think it'll catch a lot of attention.
20:53This car, it's going to go out in front of a lot of people.
20:55Millionaires, hell, maybe billionaires for all I know.
20:58And we could either gain a lot of customers or lose them.
21:02It kind of just depends.
21:03Or it might go there and nobody really gives a about it.
21:05And it might bring $5,000.
21:13Casey's pretty cranky.
21:14I'd say crankier than a tooth fairy in a nursing home.
21:16And right now, I think it's time to poke my head in the old booth there
21:19and see if he's on schedule or not.
21:21I dig it.
21:22I think it looks awesome.
21:24For as fast as we did it, it looks like one of the best.
21:27All right.
21:28So we still only got like six or seven days.
21:31We don't have a whole lot left.
21:32By the time they're done with this, we'll be done with the rest of that stuff.
21:36All right.
21:36I dig it.
21:37It looks good.
21:38Woo!
21:40Things have gone actually really well on our side.
21:42Not quite fast enough for what Richard promised.
21:45But regardless, it's got to be there.
21:47He promised this thing to the cow bearings ball.
21:49And we try to come through with everything we say we're going to do.
21:5851 Cadillac.
21:59We went through all the serviceable items on the car.
22:02Mike checked the horn several times.
22:04It still worked.
22:05Fuel pump.
22:05Mike rebuilt it.
22:06Rebuilt all the fuel lines.
22:07It's all working great.
22:10Should we start it?
22:10Are you done?
22:11Yeah.
22:12Crank it.
22:12Crank it.
22:13Crank it.
22:13The Richard buys a 51 Cadillac online.
22:15It turns out it's one of those cars that looks really good on the outside,
22:19but it's a totally different story under the hood.
22:21But with the C10 build going, he said get this thing running so he can sell it quick,
22:25like yesterday quick.
22:27About to get my Coupe DeVille on.
22:29Go ahead.
22:30I know it's coming.
22:32Horn.
22:35Look at that.
22:36He's a lot better mechanic than I thought he was.
22:39The fuel lines look good, no leaks.
22:44Every time.
22:48Hey, would you shut off something and put some more cooling in it?
22:51Hey, it looks like snot bubbles.
22:55I bet you want to bet he hit some horn again.
22:59You are the jumpiest person ever.
23:02Yeah, maybe so.
23:04Well, we still got a major problem.
23:0651 Cadillac car fired off first time.
23:08The only issue we're still having is the lower radiator hose has a hairline split.
23:12It gets hot, expands, and then we've got a leak everywhere.
23:15So, I'm going to drain the coolant, replace the hose,
23:18and after that, it's pretty much ready for Richard to sell.
23:23Really, Mike?
23:34What case is still slaving away on the C10 bed?
23:37We're about ready to put this painted cab back onto the chassis.
23:40Just put this thing on this rack over here.
23:42We did mock up the entire truck before we sent it to paint and powder coat,
23:45but with any big build, there's always a possibility there could be a big surprise.
23:51But there is one thing I can tell you with 100% certainty,
23:54and that's that this truck is going to have to run in a few days.
24:01All right, mount it up.
24:03It's still going to the left.
24:05We're going to be real close on this air ride stuff.
24:07Keenan and I got the cab back over here.
24:09Coming down slow.
24:10The guys have already got most of the frame put together,
24:13which is great.
24:14Engines in and all that good stuff.
24:15Way close.
24:16We're a little crooked, but come on.
24:17So, we're going to set it on there.
24:18We got to line everything back up.
24:20Oh, no.
24:22We're so crooked.
24:23We get that done.
24:24Get the calves mounted down.
24:26We're at solid.
24:27Whoa, whoa.
24:28We're on.
24:29Yeah.
24:29And we'll start putting the front end together.
24:31Oh, God.
24:31It doesn't fit.
24:34This isn't as easy as I thought it was going to be.
24:36Oh, yeah.
24:36I'm already tired of it.
24:37It's not even easy.
24:38Sometimes when we do as many modifications as we've done on this one,
24:43and then through the paint process, you know,
24:45things get changed around.
24:47So, sometimes everything doesn't fit as good as it should.
24:50Okay.
24:50So, we're nowhere near.
24:51You need to pull it your way.
24:53All right.
24:53Stop, stop.
24:54Mine's not exactly lined up yet.
24:58Did you get it?
24:59Uh, yep.
25:01Let's, uh, let's go book Casey about our hinges.
25:04All right.
25:10So, you know how some of my ex-employees started Fired Up Garage,
25:13so they could, uh, maybe one-up the old gas monkey?
25:15Well, I funded them their rent, and now they owe me.
25:18I heard there was a little bit of a ruckus over there,
25:19so, uh, while Aaron finishes up on the C-10,
25:22I'm gonna go check in on the, uh, ex-monkeys.
25:25Hey, hey, hey, hey.
25:26Y'all working hard?
25:27Hardly working.
25:28Looks like it.
25:29What's up?
25:30What's going on, guys?
25:31I'm excited to pop in and see if they're actually working,
25:33because you know what happens when people get a little money,
25:35maybe they get a little relaxed,
25:36now it's time to kick back.
25:37What brings you by?
25:39Rent, man.
25:40Well, we ain't even...
25:41You're a little early on the rent.
25:42It ain't due yet.
25:43We're just catching our breath while the 57 Chevrolet's out to paint.
25:46Richard comes flying in, what does he want?
25:48He wants to talk about the rent, and it ain't even due yet.
25:50Well, you were late last time, so I figured,
25:52get here a couple of days early and see if we can make sure
25:54we're going to be on time.
25:55Yeah, we're going to be on time.
25:57Nobody's working.
25:58There's no cars to be seen.
25:59Nothing's going on.
26:00And rent's due in just a couple of days.
26:02What are these guys thinking?
26:04Where's all the action?
26:05Where's all the cars?
26:06He comes in busting our balls about rent and this and that.
26:09We got the money.
26:09We're just going to make him wait.
26:10We're going to pay it on time when it's due.
26:12It looked like you had a tree problem out there.
26:14Yeah, we had a tree problem.
26:15Yes, we did.
26:16Fell on it.
26:17It's okay.
26:18Thomas, well, he's kind of got his caught in the ringer this time.
26:24Oh, my God.
26:25Of course, he doesn't really want to talk about it.
26:28Seems that a big old chunk of tree fell down on one of his customer's truck.
26:31What the ?
26:33It's total.
26:35Well, it's going to be interesting to see how the old misfits wiggle out of this one.
26:39We don't know exactly how deep we're in with this one.
26:42I come from a redneck background and it's drank beer and fighting.
26:47And I didn't drink beer today.
26:48I'm like this close to just whooping everybody's ass right now.
26:52I want my truck back.
26:59Number one, I want to see if y'all are working, which I didn't think you were.
27:02And obviously you're not.
27:03And number two, I heard about the tree falling.
27:05I thought I'd take a look at it.
27:06Oh, yeah.
27:07That truck is smashed.
27:09Oh, well, things happen, man.
27:11Check y'all later.
27:11See you, Slick.
27:12Good to see you, brother.
27:13Don't call me Slick.
27:15Okay, Slick.
27:16Be careful.
27:21Coming up on Fast and Loud.
27:23Cadillacs, Cadillacs, Magnus.
27:24Richard hits sales mode on the 51 Caddy.
27:27What mystery number do we have on this one?
27:29And with the ball fast approaching, time to finish the C-10 is running out.
27:33You think we can make it?
27:37The founder of Chevrolet, William C. Durant, also started which company?
27:58The answer is A. Durant was forced out of GM in 1910 and founded Chevrolet in 1911.
28:10What's up?
28:11Everything's jamming.
28:12Brakes are complete.
28:14Trans system is almost complete.
28:16Dustin's finishing up.
28:17Radio's managed.
28:18Fuel system's complete.
28:19Closing in on possible fire.
28:21No kidding.
28:22This looks good, man.
28:24The only big deal is, is that it's got to be done, because the event's this weekend.
28:29And if I'm going to put it in there and let them auction it off, I got to commit.
28:33You think we can make it?
28:35Maybe.
28:36But the problem is, though, is the motor's not tuned.
28:38I don't have an upholstery yet.
28:40Do I think we can have a running truck by then?
28:42Yeah.
28:42But running correctly?
28:43I don't know.
28:44So we got well over a hundred grand in this thing.
28:47And I'm not done spending yet.
28:49This isn't just another quick flip.
28:51I mean, I'm sinking a lot of cash, like breaking bad kind of cash into this C-10 truck.
28:55If it doesn't get gas-moking the kind of exposure that I need it to at Cattle Baron's ball,
28:58well, I might just have to turn out the lights.
29:03Now I'm thinking, if I put it in that room,
29:06I'm in the room with the wealthiest people in Texas.
29:08One guy's going to get it, but there's ought to be six or ten more that want it.
29:11It's my target audience, and this is one of the best things we've built so far.
29:16I have one cleanest.
29:17All right.
29:18All right.
29:18You keep trucking.
29:25So I'm a 51 Caddy.
29:27Well, the guy spent all day getting it running and driving and doing what it's supposed to do,
29:30and they had to because my old Swedish meatball friend, well, he's going to be leaving town.
29:34And I paid 14 grand for this car, and that's 14 grand I'd like to have back in my pocket.
29:39Kind of right now.
29:40Cadillacs, Cadillacs, Cadillacs, Magnus.
29:42This is the only one I got today.
29:43Okay.
29:4451 coupe.
29:46Yeah.
29:46Runs and drives.
29:47You're the man that needs it.
29:49I put a ton of money into this C-10 in a garage.
29:51Well, it still needs cash to operate.
29:53There's this little thing called payroll.
29:55I'm sure you've heard all about it.
29:56We went through it.
29:57It runs.
29:57It drives.
29:59New battery, fuel pump, water pump.
30:02It's a decent little coupe, though.
30:05Richard called me and said he had a new Cadillac 51, and I don't find them in this
30:09condition running, driving condition.
30:11So it should be a good car, good candidate to go to Sweden and fix it up.
30:18Oh, yeah.
30:22Yeah, it runs good.
30:24I need more cars.
30:26That's the way it is.
30:27Yeah, it will need some work, but it's soon winter again in Sweden, so we need something to do.
30:33So, um, what mystery number do we have on this one?
30:37The last car Magnus bought from me, well, I lost 1,700 bucks.
30:40So today's the day to turn the table on the old big suite.
30:43You tell me, what can you pay for it?
30:46Uh, here today, I could give it 10.
30:51Well, that wasn't part of my plan.
30:54Um, that's all he said, 10.
30:57I was like, is there any room in the middle?
30:59Nope.
31:00I'd rather pay a little more if it was a little better,
31:02and that was what you were told, so we're all in the same position.
31:0710 grand is about what the car's worth, so my rule is, if you're gonna take a loss, take it
31:12fast.
31:13All right, I've made enough money off of you in the past. I'll lose four today.
31:16Appreciate it.
31:17If I'm gonna lose four grand, then it may as well be to Magnus,
31:20because I know there'll be another day and another Cadillac, and maybe I'll get my money back.
31:24Dadgummit, losing four grand.
31:25This loss just eats on me. I mean, I hope the cattle barons are hungry for some C10.
31:29If I don't start some action at the old ball there, well, I don't know what I'll do.
31:33Maybe have another beer, or a four, or a 12-pack.
31:41So, obviously, we're very close to the end. We have very few days left.
31:45Did we get enough done?
31:47Well, probably not. We're perpetually behind. We'll always be behind.
31:50It'd be nice to be closer to the end, but we're not.
31:52That being said, we're gonna have to work our tails off.
31:54We're doing this three people. We're gonna have to come this way a little bit, I guess.
31:57Keenan and Mike finished up with a bed.
31:59The truck is down further in the back. That gap looks good.
32:03And... I'm scared.
32:05I hate it like you do all hoods.
32:07We're gonna get a jackhammer to open it up.
32:10There's no time to leave the truck with Sue.
32:13Since this is a show quality C10 with a high level finish out,
32:17I needed someone who could do the work. So we called Kyle Hicks.
32:20I'll grab some door panels.
32:21His work fits the bill. Speaking of bill, it's steep.
32:24He may be the best in town, but he's also the most expensive.
32:30While Kyle's getting the interior together, I'm fabricating the air intake too.
32:36Casey's topping off all the fluids, and then...
32:41And there's still like a zillion other little things
32:43that need to be checked off the list.
32:45But once that's done, we're ready to pirate it.
32:57Beyond just making wild or weird or, you know, fast or whatever,
33:01we wanted that we could cohesively build a really nice truck.
33:03First hit! First hit!
33:07And I think we're there. The truck is looking better and better every second.
33:15Did you kill it?
33:21Try it again.
33:27It's that part of the show where I scoot away on this little cart.
33:37Coming up on Fast and Loud, the monkeys crash the cattle baron's ball in style.
33:42Aaron's clean. He smells nice. It's going to be a good night.
33:44And Richard unveils the C10.
33:46It is the most perfect one we've ever built a gas monkey garage.
33:50Let's go!
33:56Hey, I brought something I knew you'd appreciate.
33:58What?
33:59It's an AC Delco Pleasure Riser.
34:01I don't know.
34:02Look at that.
34:03I want to Pleasure Riser.
34:04Genie, come here. Bend over.
34:06I knew you two would appreciate it.
34:08Well, I don't want it.
34:09I thought you would.
34:10Take it.
34:10You like to keep like this.
34:11Take it home to your old lady.
34:14You can Pleasure Riser her.
34:17Should be shocked.
34:46Let me tell you what I know about Texas and that is it's truck country and we know trucks.
34:51This is a 1976 C10 and we have to travel far and wide to find just the right vehicle that
34:57we're going to build for gas monkey garage.
34:59And let me tell you, that was a long 200 yard walk.
35:02Much to our surprise, we found almost a completely original short box 76 C10.
35:08We love C10s.
35:10I mean practically everyone in the shop is a truck guy.
35:13So the opportunity to take a two wheel drive highly option C10 and stick it on the ground?
35:18Well, I couldn't believe my eyes.
35:21They're in such a good mood.
35:22They're so excited to work on it that I said you got carte blanche.
35:27Aaron took that to heart and just took off.
35:33We need to motivate this big son of a gun.
35:35We kind of wanted the granddaddy of them all.
35:37And while it may not be an LS9, it is an LS7, which is a 427 cubic inch small block
35:42LS engine.
35:43So we had the guys at Skaga and Dickies actually put in a much bigger cam and then
35:46we backed it up with a 4L85.
35:48We just wanted to make sure that this much torque and this much horsepower
35:52wasn't spent laying all over the road.
35:57And if we're going to go fast, we've got to be able to shut it down.
36:00For that, we turned to Wilwood brakes for the front and the back.
36:02We still needed a rear axle.
36:04And since we've been so pleased with all of our Curry axles, we decided to go there one more time.
36:09Yeah!
36:09And it's absolutely gorgeous.
36:12This is the baddest vehicle that's ever turned out of Gas Monkey Garage.
36:15Period, out the end.
36:16It is perfect from bumper to bumper, top to bottom.
36:20If you can see the bottom, because it's all the way down on the ground.
36:25Since we wanted this thing in the weeds, we call it Porterbuilt.
36:28We used an entire Porterbuilt front end, the Porterbuilt four-link rear end,
36:32and we put it all on air ride.
36:33And to control the air ride, we've used AccuAir suspension,
36:36which completely automates the air system.
36:38Well, let's talk about the interior.
36:40You know, we like Sue.
36:41She does a good job for us, but I want to do something really different, really crazy.
36:45The inside smells about as wonderful as a Wilson's leather store,
36:49but it goes a heck of a lot faster.
36:52The paint?
36:52Well, it looks fantastic.
36:54We went with the factory green, but we decided to add a white stripe that really makes it pop.
36:58After all the kicking and screaming and whining about sanding and spreading plastic,
37:03the paint looks absolutely great.
37:05We're into this truck for over a hundred grand,
37:07and I'm going to donate it to the Cattle Baron's Ball,
37:09to showcase Gas Monkey Garage.
37:11Boom.
37:14Can I get a beer now?
37:15It's about that time.
37:16Cool.
37:24So here we are, 2014 Cattle Baron's Ball.
37:28Boom.
37:30It's one of the biggest charity fundraisers.
37:32It's pretty exclusive.
37:33It's the richest people in town,
37:34and they come here to have a good time, drink some beer.
37:37Most of all, buy some stuff.
37:39Do you see the truck yet?
37:40It's on the other side of the stage if you get a chance.
37:42So already I've been mingling around and everybody's talking about the truck.
37:45I have a 72 Ford Bronco that I thought was the baddest thing on the street,
37:49until I saw this.
37:51This is incredible.
37:52My plan not long has been to donate it,
37:53and hopefully it brings a lot of money for cancer research,
37:55and then I get a couple of clients out of it.
37:57Woo!
37:58What's up, everybody?
38:00How's Dallas doing tonight?
38:01Woo!
38:03All right, well, here's where you break out your wallet.
38:05We built this truck in the last four weeks,
38:07and it's absolutely perfect.
38:08It is the most unbelievable car,
38:10and the most perfect one we've ever built at Gas Monkey Garage.
38:14This truck looks like the $102,000 I've shelled out on it.
38:17The bid should be running up fast.
38:19Give me $50,000, and let's go!
38:21$50,000 down front, give me $60,000.
38:23$60,000, keep it going at $60,000.
38:25$60,000, we're gonna go $60,000 here.
38:28We'll do it at $60,000.
38:29$60,000 down front, $70,000.
38:30$80,000 now.
38:31$80,000 now, a bit of an $80,000.
38:33In the back, $90,000.
38:35$90,000, I've got $80,000 in the back now, $90,000.
38:37$80,000 now, $90,000, a bit of a $90,000.
38:40$90,000, no money for this at $90,000.
38:42It's no reserve.
38:43I mean, the hand's got to go up in the air, and the money's got to be there.
38:48I don't know what happened, but the big fishes aren't there.
38:50I don't know if they're not paying attention.
38:51I don't know if it's the wrong color.
38:53$90,000, what are we talking about here?
38:55Have you seen this truck?
38:58It's once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
39:00$85,000.
39:01Wow!
39:03Going once.
39:05Going twice.
39:07Last call, ladies and gentlemen.
39:08Anybody, anybody, anybody, anybody?
39:09Sold it right here at $85,000.
39:13It's going to a good home.
39:15Dennis is my buddy, and he collects a lot of cars.
39:17He knows the value.
39:18Good, well-bought, Dennis.
39:20Give you some of that.
39:21Thank you, sir.
39:22Well, turns out the smartest guy in the room was my best friend, Dennis.
39:26I knew what went into the truck.
39:28I know what it takes to build a truck like that.
39:30It's literally a $200,000 piece.
39:33Damn!
39:35I just stole your truck!
39:38Some might think that I misjudged the audience.
39:41Here's the problem.
39:42When me and Dennis go to car auctions, it's guys.
39:45They're buying and selling cars.
39:46They're having fun.
39:47They're drinking beer.
39:48I misjudged this on the fact that everybody brings their wife.
39:51Those guys out there wanted to raise their hands,
39:53and their wives or their girlfriends were standing there and telling them,
39:56no, honey, don't bid.
39:57No, you don't want that.
39:58Maybe these guys at the Cattle Barons Bowl, they're missing one thing, balls.
40:02Or they'd have raised their hand and bought that badass pickup.
40:05It's one of the best things you guys have ever built, and I stole it.
40:08So what do we do now?
40:09Well, since the Barons are still balling, I say we get after it.
40:13Let's go do some dancing.
40:21Richard gave the Monkees carte blanche to build their coolest show truck ever.
40:26A 76 Chevy C10 short bed.
40:28Spend the money, spend the time.
40:30Aaron and the Monkees went on a spending spree,
40:33including a custom suspension, an LS motor and drivetrain,
40:38and a show quality paint job packing a lot of green,
40:41throw in hand-stitched interior with imported Italian leather,
40:45and the tab for this C10 top six figures.
40:49Meanwhile, Richard banked on his Swedish buddy Magnus to buy a couple of caddies for some quick cash.
40:55How about 11.5?
40:56Cool.
40:57But this time it was Magnus who scored,
40:59leaving Richard $1,700 in the hole on a 65 Cadillac and down four grand on a 51 Coupe de
41:06Bill.
41:07Ugly, dented, doesn't run, missing chrome.
41:10Then after Richard paid too much for a 66 Lincoln,
41:17Casey played little Richard and took the Lincoln off the lot for a push.
41:22Why don't we just talk about my hair?
41:23Richard may have invested more than $100,000,
41:28but he's still the belle of this ball.
