00:35Nilahukan ng halos 3,000 atleta ang Spartan Race Philippines
00:39na tampok ang 20 obstacles sa loob ng 5-kilometer trail.
00:43Sa naging panayam ng PTV Sport sa race director na si Mika Dehoya,
00:48malaking pagbabago raw ito kumpara sa mga nakaraang events
00:51dahil mas naging accessible ang race sa mga atleta.
00:55It's our first time in the city.
00:57We're based in Manila but it's our first time to have actual Spartan Race in Manila.
01:02So we're very excited.
01:03We expect a lot of people to come over because they don't have to travel
01:07especially with what's happening right now with the gas prices.
01:10So it was a lot easier for us to set up just because the venue was very helpful
01:16and assisting us with all the setup as well.
01:19So it was very good.
01:21Not a lot of hiccups like we normally have but that's just part of Spartan Race.

01:43The federation, the Pilipinas Obstacle Sports Federation,
01:46which is a federation that runs obstacle sports in the country,
01:49they asked us if we could have this as the qualifying race for the national team short athletes.
01:56So those athletes, they run like 10 kilometers or less for any obstacle races locally or abroad.
02:02So even though it's all open, we had told them that it will still be an open category race
02:10but they have had additional rules for their athletes.
02:14Bukod sa elite athletes, binigyang D&D ni The Hoya na bukas ang kompetisyon para sa lahat.
02:20Isang komunidad na niyayakap ang pagiging inclusive pagdating sa mga para-athletes.
02:26We don't discriminate in terms of we don't disallow them from running.
02:31We try to accommodate their guides.
02:34So some of them, I think differently abled is the term that they use.
02:40So some of them, they need guides.
02:41Some of them don't need guides.
02:42And it's really amazing to see these athletes doing like 5, 10, 21 kilometers
02:47in this kind of heat with the situation that we have and everything.
02:52So it's so inspiring.
02:55Like I'm just a normal person, right?
02:56And there's someone who has like, you know, differently abled that they do amazing things.
03:04Like your body is really like amazing.
03:08Whatever your mind, your mind will push your body.
03:12Samantala, nakalatag na rin ang mga susunod na events ng Spartan para sa bansa,
03:17kabilang ang mga karera sa darating na Mayo, Agosto,
03:21sa La Union at Oktubre bilang bahagi ng kanilang National Series.
