00:04As-salamu alaykum, we want to look at how we can maximize the benefit during these days but
00:11remaining consistent. One of the mistakes we make is when Ramadan starts we're in the masjid as
00:17soon as the moon is sighted and the masjid is packed and everyone is there doing taraweeh,
00:22ibadah, Quran, dhikr, all of this is amazing. But what happens? Sometimes we suffer burnout
00:29because we overdo things and then we can't keep up with that pace. Ramadan is like a marathon,
00:37when you start running you make sure your focus is on the last 10 nights.
00:50So subhanAllah, I know we're talking a little bit late in the day because we're already in the last
00:5410 nights. But if you look at Ramadan and you ask yourself what am I meant to achieve by this,
01:02it's the end that needs to be powerful and potent. In Islam your deeds are judged by how they ended.
01:10So even in life if you were very pious at the beginning of your life and you lost it towards
01:15the end, Allah will judge you based on the ending. Similarly if you were not a good person at the
01:21beginning and you committed sins, when you sought forgiveness and changed your life, Allah judges
01:27you by your repentance and not by your sin. So where did the repentance come in? At the end or
01:35not at the end? If it came in at the end, good news to you. But if it did not
01:39come in at the end,
01:40you need to do better. That's why we're here talking about Ramadan. Let it end well. If you have done
01:46well,
01:47don't lose the consistency and the focus. And if you have not done well, guess what? It's never too
01:54late. Those of you who might have wasted the first days of Ramadan or even as we entered the last
02:0010
02:00nights, you wasted it. This is a message to say, it's not too late. Come, please come for your sake,
02:07for the sake of Allah, for the sake of the Ummah. Let's come together and make this happen. This is
02:12the month
02:12of Ramadan, the last 10 nights, the most powerful, the most amazing. You may never ever see another
02:18Ramadan. This might be the last night that you're ever going to witness. Have you thought of that?
02:23So Allah says, you will be judged based on how you ended the deed, you ended your life,
02:28you ended Ramadan and so on. Ramadan is coming to an end. Make the most. If you were to burn
02:33out right
02:34at the beginning and then you just suddenly, you know, flop and you're no longer interested. People do this
02:39a lot of the times I see in the masajid, a lot of the people are there at the beginning.
02:44And then
02:44towards the second week of Ramadan, the masjids are empty and it's a fact. And then coming up towards
02:49the end, it starts picking up again. Let's make sure that we pick up in a beautiful way. No burnout.
02:58The best of deeds are those that are done regularly, even if they are little. That's a hadith of the
03:04Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. So remember, Allah loves the deeds that are done regularly.
03:09Consistency is more loved by Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala than having done everything one night,
03:16and then you forgot Allah for the rest of the month. Allah says, that's not what I love. What I
03:22love is,
03:23even if it is little, but make sure it's every day because Allah created us. He knows that this type
03:29of consistency is what will help you as a human being and as a believer. Take a look at your
03:35body.
03:35You need to eat a little, but a few times consistently, right? You can't just eat a whole
03:40pile today and for one week you don't eat. In two, three days time, you probably will need the hospital.
03:45You'll be hospitalized because you have to eat a little every day. Similarly, when you do ibadah,
03:51you read a portion of the Quran every day. You do some adhkar every day. Similarly, your ibadah,
03:58your salah, your prayer. Allah has stretched it out five times a day every day. You can't say,
04:03you know what, I'm going to pray so much for one week and then for four weeks I'm going to
04:06give it
04:06a break. Allah says that's not acceptable. You can't do that. You must do it when we tell you,
04:12how we tell you, how much we tell you, and everything needs to happen according to His will.
04:17The same happens in the month of Ramadan. There are so many health benefits that we have not even
04:22started talking about for this month of fasting. But with that, there is also contentment,
04:28spirituality, connection with Allah, forgiveness, mercy, so many more benefits that you will reap
04:35by being consistent in this worship of Allah . So remember, set yourself a beautiful goal.
04:44Set yourself something that you want to do. Every day, I'm going to read one portion of the Quran.
04:50Some of us are very good at reading, some of us are not so good, some of us are hafidh,
04:54some of us are not. Hafidh meaning you memorize the Quran, memorize portions of it,
04:58and some of us have not even learned Arabic. So based on how long it's going to take you,
05:05set yourself a time. I'm going to spend one hour with the Quran every day. Beautiful.
05:10Whether you've completed the Quran or not, actually becomes irrelevant to a degree. Why I say to a degree is
05:17because those who can read the Quran should try to finish the Quran in the month of Ramadan,
05:21without a doubt. And I want to give you one other point of benefit. For those who cannot read the
05:25Quran properly in the month of Ramadan, even though you have not been able to complete the entire
05:31Quran in this month of Ramadan, at least listen to the whole Quran. That you can definitely do.
05:38So remember this, for all of you, the reverts, the new Muslims, the people who don't know Arabic,
05:44the people who can't read Quran, I've given you a beautiful bonus of learning today. What is it?
05:50If you cannot complete the entire Quran in the Arabic language reading it, do you know what?
05:57The next best thing is to listen to a reciter who has clear recitation and listen to at least the
06:04entire Quran once in Ramadan. Try also to mimic the words. So as they're saying,
06:11Wallahu Ghafoorur Raheem and you're saying Wallahu Ghafoorur Raheem, you're getting a double reward,
06:17a reward for listening every letter and a reward for trying to read with the person who is reading.
06:23Imagine. So many people say, I can't do much. Don't be a negative person. Make it positive. I can't read,
06:30so inshallah, I'm going to listen and I'm going to make sure that I do as best as I can.
06:34But with the
06:35listening, I'm going to try and lip sync and read with the reciter. You know, people do this with
06:41songs on TikTok. Can you imagine? People do this with things they've never ever heard before in their
06:47lives. Words of songs that are so vulgar sometimes and our brothers and sisters learn them. They
06:54memorize them. They spend hours and then they take a video of themselves, mimicking, moving their lips,
07:01exactly in sync with those words of the song. Come on, I need to do this with the Quran.
07:07I will not do it with something that is displeasing to Allah. I will invest my time, my effort, my
07:13energy.
07:14And in these last 10 nights, you will have a multiplied reward. If any one of those nights
07:19happens to be, and it will be the night of decree, your reward will be multiplied 83.3 years of
07:27worship.
07:27So it's like you did this for 83 years consistently. That's the reward of Allah.
07:33That's why Allah says, when you have worshipped in the night of decree, it's inshallah forgiveness.
07:40That's what you achieve. Jannatul Firdaus, paradise. May Allah grant that to us. I pray that we can be consistent.
07:46I say this as laallaha wa sallam wa
07:48ala n żeby nitiachen Muhammad.
