Videodiario "Classes and Customisation" per Worms Revolution.
Trascrizione
00:09So, I'm seeing a lot of different looking worms around. What are these?
00:13These are the classes which we've introduced into Worms Revolution.
00:17We needed to evolve the gameplay some more and we thought why not change the actual core worm itself.
00:21We've had the same worm for about 15 years now so we thought why not make it a bit different.
00:25So, we've changed his actual physical size. So, we've got these various new classes which we've got far of.
00:31There's the Scout, there's the Soldier, the Scientist and the Heavy.
00:35We worked with Tom Gluckman on the concept artist stuff. He's the famous Worms artist and stuff.
00:41His Hume was a bit risky so we had to vet a lot of his stuff that we got but
00:44then we nailed down some awesome classes and stuff.
00:47Soldier is the first class. He's the all-rounder. He's the worm that you'll recognise from previous versions of Worms.
00:53He walks and jumps just as you're expecting. He does damage as you expect it to be.
00:57So, he's the default guy that you start with when you start playing Worms Revolution.
01:01Then you've got the Scout Worm. He's the little cute fella. He's the Scout Worm.
01:05He's the sort of worm that you trust to look after your cat for a fortnight while you went on
01:08our way to Osset.
01:09He's very nimble. He's a Scout. He can also jump a very long way as well.
01:13Downside of the nimbleness is that he can take a real kick in by other worms.
01:17If the Heavy hits him with the baseball bat, he'll go flying. So, a bit of a downside of the
01:21Scout.
01:21But a cool thing with this Scout is that, because he's so small, when he digs a blowtops tunnel, he'll
01:26be very, very tiny.
01:27So, the other Worms, Heavy, Soldier, Scientist, they can't go down there. So, very cool to hide the Scout away
01:31down there.
01:32There's the Scientist Worm. He's the brains behind the brawn. You'll recognise the Scientist because he's got a huge, big
01:37head.
01:38That head's full of brains, so we're here. It's not some cranial dysfunction going on in there.
01:42And he's the support class for the team. At the start of the term with the Scientist, each Worm on
01:47that team gets five health,
01:48which is a real bonus. And he also does things like the Sentry Gun Electromagnet, which he creates a far
01:53more powerful as well.
01:54So, a very good support class to the rest of the team.
01:56But the downside is, he's not a front-line fighter. With the Scientist, we find, he's getting big away somewhere,
02:01out of arms weight, and he'll support from the back of the Scientist.
02:05And lastly, we've got the Heavy Worm. He's the giant, mean-looking worm from the artwork, which is out there.
02:09We actually got some local nightclub bouncing to us and motion capture, so we think of the realistic gripper that
02:13we've got there.
02:15With the Heavy Worm, he's very slow. He doesn't go up slopes very well. He can't jump very far.
02:19Even with the Jetpack, he doesn't move very well, but the upside of that is really, really powerful.
02:24He can take a punch, and he can give a punch back. So, he's the sort of class who people
02:28like to fight toe-to-toe in worms.
02:30They're going to love the Heavy class. And something which we've got for Worm Devolution is actual physical damage on
02:35the worms themselves.
02:36Usually, worms can go, you know, twelve rounds and they don't, you know, bat an eyelid.
02:40But now in Worms Revolution, they've now got black eyes, they can have missing teeth, they can have bandages.
02:45It's funny, but at the same time, it's a bit tragic because you kind of realise what these worms are
02:48going through and stuff.
02:49So, it does shed a tear to eye while being funny at the same time.
02:52If I want to dress up before war, what customisation elements are available?
02:55One of the things we've got more of is hats in Worms Revolution. We know people love hats.
02:59So, we've got the usual selection of military-style hats, like the World War II helmet.
03:03If you want to dress your worm up military-style, then you can do that.
03:07As well as the serious ones, we've got comedy ones in there, such as we've got wigs and stuff,
03:10particular pop-style wigs where once they're on a worm, I do find it pretty hot, actually.
03:14So, a bit of something there for everyone.
03:16As well as the hats, we've also got new gravestones and we've also got new victory dancers, forts and other
03:21things.
03:22Something which we revamped for Revolution is the speech bank system.
03:25Before, we had one sample pretty much for each one action in the game.
03:29But now, because you just kind of get sick of it in the same sample again and again,
03:32after 15 years of earning a worm, say, look at that, it's kind of got to us a bit now.
03:36So, we've fixed that problem.
03:37And now you've got the bucket system in place, where there's multiple samples for each one action in the game.
03:42So, you never get bored of the worm saying the same thing over and over again.
03:44And we're very proud of the bucket system as well.
03:47Also, for Worms Revolution, we've got trinkets now as a customisable option,
03:50where the worm takes these into battle.
03:52They don't really bring anything to the gameplay as such.
03:54They're just things that worms get out and play with while they're bored.
03:56For example, worm can get out a particular handheld console device.
03:59Actually, no, it can't for legal reasons.
04:01We took that out of the game.
04:02So, now it gets out of teddy bear.
04:03It gets out of football.
04:04And it'll play with these while the action's going away for its own turn.
04:07So, they don't bring anything to the party.
04:08They just look funny when worms are playing with them.
