00:10Tire choice is something that's new in Dirt Rally 2.0
00:13It's a big factor in rallying
00:15because it's part of the strategy
00:17You may have two or three stages
00:19in a loop before you get back to service
00:21which means you need to select a tire
00:23that is going to perform and last
00:25that full loop of stages
00:27Depending on what condition you face
00:30you would choose a different
00:31tire compound and pattern
00:33For example, if it was a dry
00:35day on tarmac, you would select
00:37a soft or a medium
00:39tire, but if it was raining
00:41you would select a wet compound
00:42which would give you better grip in wet conditions
00:46You would select
00:47a soft tire in cold
00:49or wet conditions because
00:51it's a softer compound
00:52meaning it will heat up faster
00:55and reach peak performance
00:56in a colder environment
00:57Whereas if you selected a soft tire
01:00when it was too warm
01:01it would wear out very quickly
01:03You would select a hard tire
01:05if you wanted a compound
01:07that would last a full loop of stages
01:09and have good performance throughout
01:11A hard tire would take longer to heat up
01:14but once it does heat up
01:16it will provide a more sustainable performance
01:18throughout a long stage
01:20When we've been talking to
01:22Real Rally Drivers
01:23they've been telling us about
01:24their tire management strategies
01:26and some of the guys have incredibly complex ways
01:29of planning their weekends
01:30We wanted to step back ever so slightly
01:33from there and introduce it
01:35in a format that players would be comfortable with
01:37Looking to the future
01:38that's something we'd be looking to build on
01:40and evolve best-time players' feedback
