00:13When we start the concept of coming up with an idea for a new car,
00:17it's probably the funnest part of the whole process.
00:20The radical ideas are thrown in so that you can start thinking,
00:24where's the limit?
00:27The McLaren has made some legendary cars,
00:29like the McLaren F1,
00:30held the production speed record for nearly a decade.
00:33The 12C, an amazing road car,
00:35and now the P1.
00:43So as I've worked on this franchise,
00:46I've fallen in love with a lot of cars.
00:48In fact, this is sort of a dream job for someone who loves cars,
00:51because we remake and recreate cars.
00:55Right now, my infatuation is with the P1.
01:03I love it because we now have to look at how we simulate the physics
01:07that are happening in that car in our game.
01:10The hybrid nature of it,
01:12how the suspension is architected,
01:14that actually has to be reproduced in the game,
01:16and that's a really interesting challenge.
01:26The combination of being able to make an object that works so well,
01:29is a combination of art, nature and science,
01:33where you can get something looking beautiful,
01:34performing beautiful,
01:36and finding out how to actually make it work.
01:38with cars like the McLaren P1.
01:40It's not just about top speed.
01:42In fact, it's more about how quickly it can go around a track,
01:45bending physics to its will.
01:50I'm really interested in how technology in Forza's design.
01:54In Forza, we've had a lot of ideas,
01:57things we've wanted to bring to light for going on 10 years.
02:00Having learning opponents that, through cloud learning,
02:04can actually mirror human behavior.
02:06bringing a humanistic opponent into your world,
02:09that is kind of the holy grail of gaming.
02:12It's becoming much more,
02:13much more comprehensible in a human sense,
02:17basically.
02:18I mean, technology, it's always changing.
02:20It's giving us new borders, new frontiers, new limits,
02:23and we're trying to crash those limits too.
02:34On Forza Motorsport, we're obsessed with detail,
02:38getting every last detail right.
02:40Because it's the collection of those details
02:42that give you the rewarding and immersive experience.
02:45And in this way, we share a cultural component with McLaren.
02:48They sweat the details as well.
02:51How the aerodynamics creeps over the car.
02:53It's about form and function at the same time.
02:56We're trying to develop what we call the uncompromised car.
03:01We don't accept compromises.
03:03The whole concept of perfection is unattainable, actually.
03:07I mean, you can pursue it, obviously, but you can't really attain it.
03:10To me, the thing I focus on the most is the ideas we leave behind.
03:15I love that process of throwing things away, working together,
03:20coming up with new ideas, iterating, evolving that idea of evolution.
03:25We found in Forza 5, the best way to get towards perfection
03:29was to look at imperfections.
03:31What makes a car relatable?
03:33What makes it look human and real?
03:35And that came from the human hands that made that car.
03:39It came from the process that went into making it.
03:42And we've been waiting for technology to come along
03:45that inspires us to push that boundary even further.
03:48Something that we never could have done in the last generation.
03:51There's so much processing power.
03:53It's really a new territory to explore.
04:12Only on Xbox One.
