00:02Hi guys, I'm here at the Lionhead Studios in Guildford to get the lowdown on Fable Legends.
00:08We reached out to all of you on the Fable forums and the Upload community to get your most burning
00:13questions with regards to the game.
00:15Let's go check it out.
00:16Uniting Fable humour and high adventure with all the next-gen graphics of Xbox One.
00:22Fable Legends allows you to play single player or co-op with three friends or AI companions.
00:28And now you can even play as the villain and control the creatures, traps and environment that the heroes must
00:36overcome.
00:37I've got some questions from the community, the Upload community.
00:40Ready to go, hit me.
00:41Is there any way to leave a village and go out into mission areas?
00:45So maybe more of an open world sort of setting.
00:48Much like Fable One was a kind of like, which quest do you want to go on? Let's go this
00:51way.
00:52We do have a guided experience.
00:54It's a lot more about exploring this sort of hub world and interacting with the people around you inside of
00:58there before you head out onto your quests.
01:00And this sort of helps us for the way that our game is being constructed so the villain will always
01:04have a space that he's familiar with.
01:05Is every quest about defeating the villain?
01:07In every quest there is a battle.
01:09I mean, that may not be what the quest is about story-wise.
01:12It's usually a narrative or a purpose for why our heroes are there.
01:15But inevitably, the heroes and the villain, they're going to come into combat with one another.
01:19And when you have a villain player, we think that's the most impressive way to get a different experience.
01:24Because the creatures he places down and the traps he places will make that experience very different every time.
01:29If you have a group of friends, there's always one of them who always likes to be the troll, right?
01:34Yeah, exactly.
01:35So you can have him be the villain and then the other four can try and defeat him.
01:39Will there be more towns than Bright Lodge that act as a hub?
01:43Bright Lodge will probably remain, at least for the first release, our central town hub.
01:48But we're already building other towns for you to visit as part of your quest and adventures.
01:52How will a character's personality and story be developed throughout the game?
01:57Some characters will change more than others.
01:59Some will change rather dramatically over the course of their adventures as they go.
02:03Different loadout of heroes, different combinations, they'll say different things to each other.
02:07And you'll slowly begin to find out more and more about these heroes and the narrative sort of surrounding them.
02:12So basically what we've got here is the art team and they are creating a new generation of heroes in
02:18Fable.
02:19It's pretty cool.
02:20How much can you customize your hero and can you change your weapon?
02:24You can customize your hero and also your hero's weapon.
02:29In fact, it may be your hero's abilities as well.
02:32Is there a plan to add more heroes into the game over time?
02:35There will be more heroes. There will always be more heroes.
02:37The first four heroes you've seen in our trailer and many more that we've been developing in-house are just
02:43the tip of the iceberg.
02:44We'll build the update mechanisms and we'll release new quests, new maps, and we'll keep it looking as next-gen
02:50and as cutting-edge as possible.
02:51Will heroes have different points of view depending on their combat style?
02:55We have a lot of different characters that have different kinds of roles that they're trying to perform in the
02:59quests.
02:59Do they need kind of different cameras? Yes.
03:02The simplest answer to this is absolutely.
03:04Of course, the villain has a very different camera from any of the heroes because he needs a more detached
03:08point of view.
03:09Are you planning on using any big names like Simon Pegg or John Cleese like you did in Fable 2
03:14and 3?
03:14Voice acting of a Hollywood caliber has always been synonymous with Fable.
03:19and I hope that we really push that with Fable Legends as well.
03:24Will there be housing and pets?
03:26Pets are something that Fable has often had before and so we're looking at that one,
03:29especially some characters that could have a pet all the time.
03:32Is there going to be a dog, David?
03:34I have to think that we're going to find some way for you to have some canine love in Fable
03:38Legends.
03:39So how are you going to include Kinect in this new game?
03:42We're looking closely at the use of voice, especially potentially with the villain mode,
03:46but all of those controls will be duplicated through the controller.
03:50The controller is kind of our focus.
03:51And what about the team composition in the studio?
03:54Is it much different from Fable 2, 3 and Journey?
03:57We've still got some original staff members who were there in the trenches working away on the very, very first
04:01Fable,
04:02you know, the Project Ego.
04:03But we also have a lot of new faces, a lot of people who are actually bringing some different things
04:07to the equation.
04:09The most important thing is that whenever we employ people that they're a Fable fan,
04:12you know, they're not coming in the door if they're not as simple as that.
04:16We stop and we play it every so often.
04:18And when that happens, you can just hear the sort of shouts and the buzz going up around.
04:22We don't play games all day, though.
04:23We have to make it sometimes.
04:25Just we have to make it sometimes.
04:26All right, guys.
04:28So I finished my day here at Lionhead Studios,
04:30and I hope you've got the answers to all of your questions.
04:33And I hope in particular you've liked the exclusives and talking about exclusives.
