00:30There are four in the Outlaw family. There's the Melee, the Ranged, the Thug, and the Hornblower.
00:38The Outlaw Melee are swords, axes, and hammers. Standard affair, but very dangerous and very powerful.
00:44Their special ability is this kind of confusion tonic, which if you hit a hero, your left stick will instantly
00:50become inverted.
00:51So as you're running along and suddenly you get hit by the special, if you're pushing forward, nope, you're going
00:56to start running backwards.
00:57It's a very disorientating experience when you get hit by the Confusion Bottle and often leads to a lot of
01:03health being lost if you're a hero.
01:05What a pretty target!
01:07There's an archer and...
01:09They're all women, aren't they?
01:10Yeah.
01:10Yeah, they're women.
01:11Got quite an unusual look to them.
01:15Nice guys.
01:17It's fighting time!
01:20The Outlaw range have a stun arrow, which they sort of sit back and they fire the shot across the
01:25map, and any heroes who get caught in the blast will instantly sort of be stunned in place.
01:30It's good to combo with some other stuff, so if you stun them and then use the Red Cup Artilleries
01:34special ability, then they can't move, so they effectively just have to take the damage.
01:41The leader of the pack is a horn blower, and he's got a cannon.
01:45We spend a lot of time getting this nice tubular sound for the firing, hitting the ends of pipes to
01:50get this nice satisfying thunk, thunk, when it fires, yeah, that's it.
01:54And then we just did that, and that worked great.
01:58The special ability of the horn blower is to use his horn to do a battle cry, so he sits
02:03back and goes, and lets out this powerful sonic charge across the entirety of the map, which, for any creatures
02:11who hear it, will instantly be bloodlusted.
02:13This ability is applied to all of the creatures currently active in the wave.
02:17Any debuffs that they have applied to them at that point in time will be removed, so if they're taunted
02:22by Inga or if they're frozen by winter, just a quick blast in his horn,
02:26and all of that stuff goes away, they become immune to status effects, they get a damage bonus, it's pretty
02:31crazy.
02:31It can be quite frustrating for heroes when none of your attacks work.
02:34And if you get too close to him, he's not afraid to punch you in the face either.
02:38No, he's not.
02:39That was easy!
02:41The Thug is our tank, but in the Outlaw family, a creature with high health who is able to prolong
02:47the battle and still continues to do a lot of damage to the heroes.
02:51When you activate the Thug special, the Thug goes berserk.
02:54He can run much, much faster than any other creature or hero in the game.
03:00You can throw him across the map like a human wrecking ball.
03:03He'll just run through the battlefield, charging through and bashing anything that's in his way, out of his way, and
03:08basically destroying anything he comes across.
03:10I think the Thug seems to be something of a masochist.
03:14If you punch him a couple of times, he's like, yeah, come on, do it again, break the nose, etc.
03:18He's got some great hands.
03:19He's just always angry.
03:20Yeah, he's angry.
03:21He's got some real tension.
03:22Yeah, he's got some issues.
03:23He needs a massage.
03:24He does.
03:28He's a bit like Tipple almost, because he's got his fists out and punches stuff in the face quite a
03:32lot.
03:33Pretty big.
03:33He's pretty awesome.
03:35Give me what you've got!
03:37One of the first things I actually did was an idle variation, and, yeah, it's quite close to my art
03:42as well.
03:43It was a butt scratch it was, so basically, when he's not doing anything for a while, he'll just turn
03:47around and, you know, scratch his bum and take a sniff as well.
03:50I think I spent about, for a good, like, three hours getting some top reference of that, so trips in,
03:56like, the bad areas of the internet, you know, just to get this reference, and, yeah, and then just blocking
04:03it out was just a thing about D-Lag, and I knew, I knew I had something.
04:11Outlaws have an understandable grievance against the heroes, and they're not afraid to say it.
04:15These guys have been forced out to live in the woods.
04:17They used to have cool little camps, all sorts of things, so heroes are going to chase them all out
04:21of them.
04:21So when you fight outlaws, if you kind of stop and you pull back, you can hear them basically all
04:25just complaining about heroes all the time.
04:27That was quite good fun to write.
04:29All of these heroes turning up, kicking honest outlaws out of their life behind you.
04:34The Outlaws are a really grotty, vicious version of Robin Hood's Merry Men, basically.
04:40They live out in the wilds and just attack anything that comes along.
04:43They just want to make mincemeat of you, so, yeah, they're quite colourful characters.
04:47Merry Men? Oh, yeah. You lot are really bloody cheerful.
