00:30per first time ever an in-depth look at some of MGO's new features, including classes,
00:34mission types, abilities, and equipment.
00:37Hopefully people have been enjoying Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain since it launched
00:41earlier this month, and maybe a few of you have even cleared the main story mode.
00:45If so, then you'll feel right at home in Metal Gear Online, as the game uses the exact
00:49same control scheme and much of the same equipment, but in a competitive online setting.
00:54And as promised, MGO will go live and be free to download on October 6th for everyone who
01:01owns Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain.
01:03So let's go ahead and start the game.
01:12For your player character, you can choose the avatar that you created at the beginning of
01:16Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain, or you may also create new characters if you wish.
01:32The character creation system is incredibly deep with many options, as you can see here.
01:37And if we wanted, we could take all day tweaking things, but for now, let's go ahead and go
01:42with this.
01:45Next, you choose your character's specialty from the following three classes, Scout, Enforcer,
01:53or Infiltrator.
01:57Let's take a quick look at what each of these classes can do.
02:07Infiltrators excel in close range combat, they are very quick on their feet, and they can
02:11be very lethal when paired with stealth camo.
02:16Here we see an Infiltrator sneaking up behind an enemy to interrogate them and extract the
02:20location of opposing team members.
02:26Naturally, you can also sneak up on enemies and kidnap them using the Fulton as well.
02:32Long story short, if stealth is your thing, then the Infiltrator class is the one for you.
02:42Next up is the Scout class.
02:44The Scout is well balanced and can be effective at both combat and support roles.
02:48Scouts excel at spotting enemies from a distance, allowing you to quickly mark enemies for your
02:52allies.
02:53Then support them with long range sniper fire.
02:58Attacking from a distance minimizes the risk of being spotted or attacked by the enemy.
03:03So if you're the type who likes to gather intel and snipe targets, then this would be the
03:07perfect class for you.
03:12And finally we have the Enforcer class.
03:15The Enforcer is a heavily equipped class that excels at combat.
03:20Enforcers have high stamina and excel at using a variety of heavy weapons.
03:26These guys are tanks who take a good amount of damage before going down, so it's perfect
03:30for players who prefer to dive straight into the enemy lines.
03:38Alright, so now that we've explained the classes, let's jump into an actual mission.
03:42There are several mission types to choose from, but for today we'll introduce you to
03:45the Bound to Hunter mission.
03:46The premise is fairly straightforward, all you have to do is eliminate as many enemy players
03:50as you can.
03:51However, this ruleset features some dynamic twists that make matches very unpredictable,
03:56enabling players to quickly turn the tide of battle with strategic play.
04:04At the top left of the screen you can see the map, and next to it you see the remaining
04:09tickets for both your team and the enemy's team.
04:14Whenever you kill or fulton and recover an enemy, a ticket is subtracted from their tool.
04:18If the enemy's tickets are reduced to zero, your team wins.
04:27And these yellow marks indicate bounty points.
04:31A bounty point gets added every time you defeat an opponent.
04:34In other words, opponents who have very high bounty points have defeated many of your allies.
04:46If you fulton an enemy, rather than killing them, their bounty points are added to your
04:50team's ticket total.
04:52This means that if you defeat enemies that have a high bounty, you can quickly flip the balance
04:57of the match.
05:02Alright, so let's start the mission.
05:09Good luck!
05:10Good luck!
05:11Give them hell!
05:12Good luck!
05:13It's your show now!
05:15Go!
05:15Go!
05:16Go!
05:17Go!
05:18Go!
05:18Go!
05:20Go!
05:20The Bart decommvs of your comrades are displayed in blue above their head.
05:25And what you're seeing right now is the salute action.
05:28Saluting a teammate can establish a buddy link with them.
05:33Among other things, becoming buddies with any other player allows for a sharing of information.
05:39For example, you can see what your buddy is aiming at, as indicated by the blue laser
05:43you see on the screen.
05:48Ancora di questo, altre action possono anche essere iniziato
05:51ed edifici più comraderie con il tuo amore.
05:57Let's take a look at some of your other team mates.
06:00The red markers on the screen are the opposing team.
06:03Note that markers placed by your allies are shared with the entire team.
06:08Here, a pair of players are entering the building as a two-man cell.
06:11And an enemy was detected. A firefight ensues.
06:15We spotted a suspicious box, which was empty.
06:20And it turns out it's a trap, because we have a sleep mine.
06:23And the enemy was actually in stealth camo, and has now taken us hostage.
06:30But, as you can see, one of our team mates managed to score a sniper shot on the guy and
06:35save us.
06:37So thanks to our buddy there.
06:40All right, so now we're going to take the view of the sniper.
06:44And we see some of our team mates down below.
06:47So let's see if we can land in a hand.
06:49Let's scope out the area, and see if we can provide some cover fire.
06:54Oh, but no, it's a dreaded plush snare.
06:57Anyone who looks at it is overwhelmed by its cuteness, and will be unable to move, even if it's just
07:02through binoculars.
07:02That sniper's now disabled.
07:08But there's a nice shield dash by one of our other team mates.
07:13We'll go ahead and pull from the enemy and take their tickets.
07:17And establish a new buddy link.
07:19Note that buddy links can be re-established and changed at any time.
07:25Alright, and in the meantime, let's see what some of the other team mates are up to.
07:33Nope.
07:33And it looks like we ran through some enemies here.
07:38Looking bad.
07:47Nice stun, but it looks like we were hit by a Fulton Cannon.
07:51If no teammates around to save us, we're immediately removed from the field.
07:57Meanwhile, one of our infiltrators is making good use of stealth camo to capture and interrogate an opposing team member.
08:03This enables you to automatically mark opponents and share their location with the rest of the team.
08:08And on the bridge, we see our guys are being pushed back by our walker gear, but we're too far
08:12to offer support.
08:13In cases like this, you can use a bit of technology that may look familiar from the main game.
08:17What we did is we used a wormhole to instantly transport ourselves to our buddy's location.
08:26The enemy didn't notice us, so let's hijack their walker gear, and even the score.
08:43Alright, and our walker gear was hit.
08:48And it looks like it was that guy in the Red Beret from before.
08:51Mark M reveals that he has a huge bounty on his head.
08:56And our infiltrator was hit by a missile.
08:58But if we can Fulton this guy in the Red Beret before time runs out, we can instantly turn the
09:02battle around and win the match.
09:06There's not much time left, and the blue team is dangerously low on tickets.
09:09At this rate, we will lose, so we need to Fulton this guy before the timer runs out.
09:19And we're hit by a stun grenade. That's not good.
09:32But our comrade rescues us, and with a well-timed Fulton plench, we can instantly Fulton the guy in the
09:37Red Beret,
09:38turning his bounty into blue tickets just as time runs out,
09:43and Team Solid wins in an amazing upset.
09:47Job well done.
09:49And that concludes the mission for today.
09:52But before we end today's presentation, we'd also like to give you a quick peek at another exciting feature of
09:57MGO.
09:59Unique Characters
10:01As teased previously, Ocelot is playable in MGO, and aside from being able to dual wield revolvers,
10:07he can also use ricochet shots to hit targets that aren't in his direct line of fire,
10:11allowing him to hit enemies even if they're taking cover.
10:13Pretty good, huh?
10:15Oh, but wait, was that a remote-controlled arm?
10:19Yes, Snake also makes his appearance in MGO, complete with his bionic arm,
10:23which gives him various unique abilities such as the ever-popular Rocket Punch.
10:28Well done, boss.
10:32Alright, and that concludes our TGS 2015 presentation of Metal Gear Online.
10:37Layers can look forward to discovering other stages, mission types, equipment, and abilities for themselves
10:42when MGO goes live next month on October 6th.
