00:02My baby!
00:04Back up, back up.
00:12If she's alive, finish it!
00:16She's a gunner!
00:20The transport contained heroin with a street value of 10 million.
00:23ED-905 is back in the hands of organised crime.
00:26No sweat, lads.
00:27The hijack required inside information.
00:31Vihan Malhotra, civilian administrator.
00:34Get out! Stay down!
00:35I know what Vihan up to.
00:37What are we up to, Vihan?
00:39Protecting one he owned.
00:43What is your relationship with Vihan Malhotra?
00:46He's my cousin-in-law.
00:47I never knew it was so bad what Vihan was doing, otherwise I'd never have gone along with it.
00:54You are finished with the Force, and that's only the start of it.
00:58Christ knows what criminal charges you're going to end up facing.
01:06I passed information to ACC Hilton.
01:10He was the senior police officer who was running the show for organised crime.
01:15Killing himself was the only decent thing that man ever did.
01:21I am deeply sorry for having not consulted you about the finances.
01:27I'm a married man.
01:29Separated.
01:39It's called Operation Pear Tree.
01:42Our brief was to embed an undercover officer within an organised crime group.
01:46Detective Sergeant John Corbett.
01:52I'm in a rush, let's just swap and show it.
01:54Deepak!
01:59There's only one thing worse than a Ben Copper.
02:02That's a Ben Copper who pretends she isn't.
02:05Jenna!
02:06It's right now, I'm pretty.
02:07Help!
02:10The-
02:11What?
02:36minim Example
02:45That's her.
02:48Yeah.
02:50Sorry.
02:51That would have been easy.
02:57I'll stick around for forensic examination and report back to the boss.
03:00Okay.
03:03You recognise this place, yeah?
03:10Yeah.
03:17Assistant Chief Constable Hilton's body was found in 2017.
03:22Assumed to be suicide.
03:25Now looking more possible, he was killed.
03:28Monique was complicit in Hilton's corruption.
03:30Killed in the same location.
03:33Maybe she knew something and had to be silenced.
03:37I really wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt.
03:40I hate to say it, I think she was more involved than we thought.
03:43I mean, you work right beside someone.
03:47Sir.
03:48It's an awful business.
03:51Awful business.
03:53Does the family know yet?
03:54Yes, sir.
03:55The rallying route.
03:57I mean, what's going to happen to those brewery children?
04:01Do we know anything of the needs of movements prior to this?
04:06Shot by a bystander on his smartphone.
04:12I don't think so.
04:14Oh, my God.
04:16Oh, my God.
04:17What's going on?
04:17What's going on?
04:18Get in.
04:19Yeah, yeah, yeah.
04:20Keep filming.
04:21Keep filming.
04:22I've just given you some...
04:25Serious crime are running ID on the suspects.
04:27They're running ANPR on the vehicle to try and track its movements.
04:30And what?
04:30We're going to sit in our hands while serious crime run the whole shooting match.
04:34I don't think so.
04:42That's it.
04:54Mum?
04:56PCC's asked to be in on this meeting.
04:58We've not met, have we, Superintendent Hastings?
05:00Roland Sindwani.
05:02I know who you are, Mr. Sindwani.
05:04Then you'll know I was elected to shake things up.
05:07Deputy Chief Constable Wise knows my feelings on this subject.
05:10For too long, the extent of police corruption has been covered up for fear of losing public trust.
05:15Absolutely, absolutely.
05:16And that is why my department, AC12, were determined to get to the bottom of it.
05:20We're the best in the business.
05:25My senior legal counsel, Jill Bigelow, you don't mind if she sits in?
05:30No.
05:32You were intending to brief me on your inquiry's findings regarding the hijack?
05:37Yes, ma'am, that's correct.
05:38But, and it's even more complex and more troubling than we first thought.
05:45The OCG, that's the Organized Crime Group, may be implicated in the death of a former SE12 officer, PC Manit
05:53Bindra.
05:53And we are also investigating an undercover operation, Operation Pertree.
05:59Pertree?
06:00Yes, we require access to all the files pertaining to Operation Pertree in order to investigate the possibility that a
06:08serving undercover officer may be participating in criminal activities.
06:14Thank God.
06:16I'm also here to ask the DCC for access to serious crimes investigation of the suspicious death of PC Manitra.
06:23There's a point of principle with respect to a police unit investigating an offense in which one of your former
06:28officers is the victim.
06:31Granted, ma'am, granted.
06:32But unless my officers have access to all the lines of inquiry, we simply cannot do our job.
06:45Andrea, I'd be grateful if you'd take the pragmatic view.
06:54AC12 will have access to Operation Pertree and to serious crimes investigation.
07:00Thank you, ma'am. You won't regret it.
07:09That's the problem with corruption inquiries.
07:12There's always the danger. You'll find some.
07:17D.I. Fleming, AC12.
07:19We have the lawful authority to investigate Operation Pertree.
07:22All officers to your desks.
07:23You'll each be questioned by an AC12 caseworker.
07:26You'll each be obliged to surrender all materials relating to Operation Pertree to said caseworker.
07:32Failure to comply will be a breach of your duties and responsibilities under police conduct regulations
07:36and may lead to a misconduct charge under said regulations.
07:40What the hell's going on?
07:42Our work here is confidential.
07:44DC Elwick, is this your desk?
07:46No files will be surrendered without my say-so.
07:48Ma'am, you're obstructing police officers in their lawful duty,
07:51which, as you know, is a criminal offence, rendering you subject to arrest.
07:57Hello.
08:00Mr. Yacoub, take me to your desk, please.
08:03Box 23290.
08:04Box 235.
08:06Police detect.
08:07Police detect.
08:08Police detect.
08:09Police detect.
08:10Police detect.
08:11Police detect.
08:11Police detect.
08:12Police detect.
08:15Police detect.
08:16These are the most significant items that have been shared from serious crime search
08:19in Monique's address.
08:21Audio files on a home computer.
08:25I think you need to hear this one first.
08:30I'm making this audio file via a miniature recording device.
08:35My plan is to carry out undercover surveillance on the OCG.
08:41I let AC-12 down.
08:43I betrayed Superintendent Hastings Trust.
08:47This is how I'm going to make up for it.
08:52End of recording.
08:57My God.
09:01A bit lawful now.
09:03Me too.
09:07Okay, so what else have we got?
09:09End of this.
09:13You checked her over?
09:15No weapons.
09:17No recording devices.
09:19She's clean.
09:20So what's all this about?
09:24No other female voices on the recordings.
09:27Only Monique's and hers.
09:29So where's DS John Corbett in all this?
09:33Nowhere.
09:34He's still a mystery.
09:49Was it really necessary to leave a body down at the harbour?
09:52Could have just dumped it in the landfill.
09:53The police would have been on the wiser.
09:54No, here's what I don't understand.
09:57We've netted gear worth £7 million.
09:59Put a rival unit out of business.
10:01No bastards even picked up the phone.
10:04Oi!
10:05You.
10:05No good.
10:08No, we've got a good thing going on here with this unit, Liz.
10:11With a bit more support from above, we could do some serious business.
10:16The boys have fallen for all this because you've got brains.
10:19But you what?
10:21Less than a year in.
10:22Listen, I've earned my place.
10:26I follow orders.
10:27That's the way you do business.
10:29Now, in case you haven't noticed, Liz, we don't do a nine to five.
10:32We don't work in some shitty little office waiting for some idiot boss to tell you what to do.
10:37Hoping you get thrown on a crumb every now and again.
10:40I've had my fill of that.
10:42Money, power, respect.
10:44That's what I'm in this for.
10:48And I reckon you are too.
10:51You?
10:51Very good.
10:53Quicker.
10:54Faster.
10:55Money.
10:56Money, money, money.
10:57My plan is to carry out undercover surveillance on the OCG.
11:03I let AC-12 down.
11:05I betrayed Superintendent Hastings' trust.
11:09This is how I'm going to make up for it.
11:14End of recording.
11:30I have your attention, please.
11:34We've lost one of our own.
11:38He's seen Maneet Bindra.
11:41Young officer.
11:43Mother with two young children.
11:47If you've ever asked yourself the reason why we do this job...
11:54this is it.
11:56Carry on.
11:58Sir.
12:03Kathleen, the red notice that we served on Maneet Bindra, has it been actioned yet?
12:09No, sir.
12:10Her Fed rep launched an appeal and we were just trying to...
12:13Here.
12:13Yeah.
12:13Rescinded.
12:15I shall talk to DCC Wise and remind her that...
12:19Maneet Bindra was still a serving SE-12 officer at the time of her murder.
12:24She died on the line of duty.
12:42Superintendent Hastings.
12:46DCI, Mark Moffat.
12:47Well, retired DCI.
12:48Sorry to ambush you like this.
12:50You're not meeting him undefined.
12:51Oh, yeah.
12:51Rose Huntley's Fed rep.
12:53Listen, mate.
12:54It's been a long day.
12:55Yeah.
12:56Let me just spit it out and then you can tell me to sling me oak.
12:59Since retiring, I've joined a mate's property development business and one of our new projects
13:04is in the Republic of Ireland.
13:05The kettlebell complex.
13:08I'd rather not discuss it.
13:09We've taken over redevelopment and our terms of business include compensating the original investors.
13:16I've got the right man.
13:17You were one of the unlucky ones.
13:20Yeah.
13:21Um, maybe I can take you for a drink?
13:26Yeah, wait there.
13:27I'll be right back.
13:29Sure.
13:50Thank you, Steve.
13:51Thank you, sir.
13:54Operation Pear Tree commenced on the 22nd of January, 2018, under the command of Detective
14:00Superintendent Alison Powell, with authority to embed an undercover officer in an organised
14:06crime group.
14:07What we've now learned is the objective of Operation Pear Tree was to investigate institutionalised
14:13links between corrupt police officers and organised crime.
14:16An operation in our patch and no one told us a dicky bird, eh?
14:21DS John Corbett.
14:23One year ago, John Corbett left his desk and never went back.
14:27His colleagues were never told where he went and ordered never to disclose he'd worked with
14:31him.
14:31His files were erased from the police database.
14:33His phone number and email deleted.
14:35His name removed from the payroll.
14:37What we now know from these files is that Corbett was given a new identity.
14:44John Clayton.
14:46A forger with multiple convictions.
14:49A DS Corbett had been a printer before he joined the force.
14:53As Clayton, he offered his services to the highest bidder.
14:56A file seized yesterday revealed Clayton succeeded in convincing an OCG to recruit him, and he
15:02soon became a trusted member of the OCG, responsible for overseeing the production of lucrative forges
15:07of identity documents, legal documents, invoices, receipts, certificates, you name it.
15:13Mom.
15:15Operation Pear Tree files show that DS Corbett has been out of contact with his common cover
15:19officer for nearly three months.
15:21In that time, he's believed to have actively participated in criminal offences, namely the
15:26hijack of seized goods transport ED905, the murder of three AFOs, the attempted murder of
15:32a 4th, and possibly even the death of Muneet Bindra.
15:39This is an image of the vehicle used to abduct Muneet, captured by a member of the public
15:42who witnessed the incident.
15:44Now, using ANPR, we've been able to track the vehicle heading towards Edge Park, but
15:48the trail ran out, leaving us unable to determine the vehicle's destination.
15:52But from the same set of images, we were able to capture a clear image of one of Muneet's
15:58abductors.
16:00Recognition software gives a 90% likelihood the subject is Lee Banks, a career criminal
16:06with numerous convictions for violence.
16:09One of Banks' known associates is Robert Denmore.
16:14Forensic evidence linked Denmore to OCG interference into Operation Trapdoor, led by DCI Roz Huntley
16:20in 2017.
16:22You'll all recall that Denmore was shot dead in this building by the gaffer.
16:26What all this means is there's a proven association between Corbett's OCG and the network of corrupt
16:32officers we've been investigating all these years.
16:34And, er, is there anything in the files that might suggest why Corbett's gone rogue?
16:39We've been looking specifically at the time leading up to the point where Corbett seized
16:42contact with his comp.
16:44The entries have been redacted from the files.
16:46Ah.
16:47Thank you, Steve.
16:49Kate.
16:50So, your orders are to establish the whereabouts of John Corbett and to apprehend him without
16:57a delay.
16:57Sir, sir, sir.
17:06Mark.
17:07About those redacted entries.
17:09Current comm in Operation Piatry was appointed after Corbett stopped responding.
17:13I've got a name for the original comm.
17:15Tatlin's trying to track her down.
17:17Good.
17:18Look, Kate, Corbett's embedded in a group of hardened criminals who'd execute him if they
17:24discover his true identity.
17:26I've been there.
17:27It's not nice.
17:28All I'm saying is he's anti-corruption.
17:30Same as us.
17:32I mean, should we consider the lance he might be forced to to maintain his cover?
17:35Sure.
17:36For about two seconds.
17:50Long way north.
17:51I'm surprised it hasn't given you a nosebleed.
17:57Didn't get no biscuits in.
17:59Oh, we're fine, thanks.
18:00As I explained over the phone, Mrs Corbett, we're a specialist anti-corruption unit making
18:04inquiries into serious criminal offences.
18:06Been a copper's wife long enough to know what anti-corruption means.
18:10You reckon John's involved?
18:12We're keeping an open mind.
18:14Steph, is it okay if I call you Steph?
18:18I've been an undercover officer myself, so I do understand the stresses your husband's
18:22under.
18:23We need to form a picture of his current state of mind.
18:26Can't help you.
18:28I haven't heard from him.
18:30Don't expect to, neither.
18:32Why did you say that?
18:34Ask her.
18:35She was undercover.
18:37Perfect job for a selfish arsehole that don't give a toss about his own family.
18:43John's done undercover operations before.
18:45What's different about this one, do you think?
18:47I'll tell you what's different.
18:49Nothing.
18:51He gets to run round like he's single again, and I'm left with a house to run and two kids
18:55to bring up.
18:56You've come open.
18:57And I can help you find him.
19:01Don't want to find him.
19:13Not too late.
19:14No, just right, Tom.
19:17Look, what Corbett's missus said about undercover work, that was never you.
19:23Thanks, Steve.
19:24But she was right.
19:25I mean, getting promoted and working new hours has given me a chance to make up for all that.
19:32I'm just glad me and Mark are making a go of things again, and I can be a proper mum.
19:37I'm glad for you, mate.
19:38Thanks.
19:40Your turn next.
19:42Settle down.
19:44Yeah, right.
19:45Night, mate.
19:46Night.
19:58Hey.
19:59Perfect timing.
20:01Oh, great.
20:02Hey.
20:04You all right?
20:05Oh, goodnight.
20:07Goodnight.
20:08Love you.
20:09See you in the morning.
20:12Night.
20:12Good night.
20:18Bye-bye.
20:20Vihan explained to me how he made contact with the OCG.
20:24There's a phone box in Moss Heath on the corner of Tate's Avenue.
20:28They put a business card in there that looks like it's for sexual services.
20:31The number keeps changing, but the name's always the same.
20:35Nikki 9.
20:36You go through a series of set phrases.
20:39You start with, got a tip for you, like you're talking to a gambler.
20:42Then you quote the odds as 100 to 30.
20:46No matter what they say back, you stick with those odds.
20:49Then either they give you instructions for a meeting or drop off a burner phone.
20:56Hello?
20:57What do you want?
20:59Got a tip for you.
21:01Not interested.
21:02Face nods.
21:03100 to 30.
21:05You taking the piss or what?
21:07100 to 30.
21:11Wait there.
21:14100 to 30.
21:14100 to 30.
21:36Wait there.
21:36Oh, my God.
22:12Hey, guys. Come and have a look at this.
22:25You know him?
22:27Copper. Steve something.
22:30Arnold. Don't know.
22:33Is it bent?
22:34As far as I can remember. Couldn't be straighter.
22:39Yeah, he did the right thing, lads.
22:42I've already fell for it once for a minute.
22:44Not the mugs they think we are.
22:47Nice one. Cheers, John.
22:52For Christ's sake, John. He's investigating Manning's murder.
22:55Let's get a move on, then.
22:57What do you mean?
22:58I've got a plan. It's something big.
23:01Let's make use of our assets before this mupper gets to them.
23:22I'm just going with you and I'm just going to turn to...
23:24I'm not sure.
23:25Yes.
23:25Yes, sir.
23:26Yes.
23:26Oh nothing, sir.
23:28Sorry, the hospital rubbish at notifying people.
23:31He's checking.
23:33Just need to carry out an assessment to make sure everything's in place with their mobility,
23:37dressings, medication, etc.
23:39It's fine.
23:40Jen's still in a bit of pain. It'd be good if he could see you.
23:47Maybe I should try again tomorrow.
23:49It's all good. Go in.
23:59This way.
24:06I'm sorry. Are you all right to give us a minute?
24:08Yes, of course. Some privacy.
24:11Thanks.
24:20Hello, Jane.
24:22I'm Alice.
24:24Need to start by asking you a few questions, if that's all right?
24:26We are going to call you, Jane.
24:32You shot me.
24:34You killed my team.
24:36I swear to God, if I wasn't in this bed...
24:39We crushed you, Jane, but it wasn't my idea.
24:42My family.
24:44They're safe.
24:48No-one's planning to finish the job on you.
24:51I'm here to talk business.
24:54No, no. I've done my bit.
24:57Lovely husband.
25:00Lovely kids.
25:03Their safety was your first thought.
25:06But...
25:06Was that the ways that you could lose them, Jane?
25:11As we both know.
25:23Yeah.
25:23Do you get what we need?
25:24Yeah.
25:26Good girl.
25:27Well, this is good.
25:29Maybe.
25:53They're on the move, John.
25:54But they've up security.
25:58How much?
25:59Four escort vehicles.
26:01Twelve AFOs.
26:02We're outnumbered.
26:03Maybe we should call it off.
26:06No, we'll just have to cope.
26:12Right, lads.
26:13You're on the way.
26:15So remember, do exactly as I told you.
26:18Yeah?
26:18Yeah, yeah.
26:18Alright, let's go, let's go.
26:20Come on. Let's go. Let's move.
26:21Let's go.
26:39Go, go, go, go, go, go.
26:41Come on.
26:49Go, go, go, go, go!
27:14They're gonna get here for us!
27:20We got them in front!
27:22We got them in front!
27:32Get out! Get out now!
27:38I'm getting out!
27:40What the hell is there?
27:49He was going to shoot you!
27:51Come on, leave! Let's go!
27:55Go! Move! Move!
27:58Go, go, go!
28:06We're too alive!
28:09Go, go, go!
28:18Go, go, go, go!
28:44Go, go, go!
28:48All right, lads, let's get em' all out.
28:53Let's get over here.
28:54Yeah, I'll take this one.
29:04Keep me updated on traffic reports and air ops.
29:07Convoy of vehicles can't respond to shoot at the air.
29:12Thanks for the call.
29:14I thought you lot were meant to be leading this inquiry.
29:16Yeah, well, we won't know for sure it was them
29:18unless the ballistics match the heroin hijack.
29:20Oh, yeah? You wanna bet against it?
29:25What'd they get this time?
29:27Central Ballistic Labs, five minutes down the road.
29:30A cache of automatic rifles en route to be destroyed.
29:38How many casualties?
29:40None.
29:43None.
29:46Five minutes, five minutes.
29:47Five minutes, five minutes.
29:48Five minutes, five minutes.
29:485 minutes, five minutes.
29:505 minutes.
29:59Look, l, erm...
30:03I screwed up.
30:06I got it wrong and you were right to react the way you did.
30:09It's fine.
30:11We'll run the bridge.
30:13I know, I just...
30:16I wanted to say it. I know.
30:20Sorry.
30:28Anyway...
30:30It'll be nice to catch up. It's been too long.
30:34Yeah. Ciao.
30:39Do you want to come on?
30:42I need to get everything together for the gaffer and kate first team.
30:47I'll call you.
30:50Buy the hairs on your chinny chin chin.
31:14Oh, man.
31:29What's that?
31:31Oh, man.
31:33This is my friend.
31:33Oh, man.
31:33Look.
31:33Good.
31:34I'm so sorry.
31:34Good, good.
31:38Thank you, man.
31:39I'm so sorry.
31:57I'm sorry, I can't call them more.
32:02John, there were copies there asking about you.
32:04I got their names.
32:06D.I. Kate Fleming and D.S. Steve Arnott.
32:10Arnott?
32:10I just said exactly what you're telling me to say.
32:13No, I knew you would.
32:14Yeah, you did the right thing.
32:18It's good to hear your voice.
32:22I love you.
32:24I miss you so much.
32:28Are the girls all right?
32:30They're sleeping.
32:33Can I listen?
32:36I'll put the phone next to you, Emma.
33:00The chief constable has assured me that all necessary security was in place.
33:10I've located Corbett's former care for ops manager.
33:12Good work. Thanks, darling.
33:15Well, I've got the comm.
33:18Deputy Chief Constable Wise will answer any further questions.
33:23I want to reiterate this force's gratitude to the officers involved.
33:28Turn that bloody thing off.
33:30It's possible to rule out links to preview...
33:41Cheers.
33:44Inspector Cameron?
33:46Yeah?
33:47DSR-0, AC-12.
33:50IDI and I need to speak to you about Operation Pear Tree.
33:54Can we talk outside, please, ma'am?
33:56I don't have anything to say to my C-12.
33:58Inspector, we can do this the easy way or the hard way.
34:01It's your choice, ma'am.
34:21D.I. Kate Fleming.
34:24What do you want to know?
34:25You were John Corbett's covert ops manager.
34:28I was?
34:30Communications between yourself and Corbett dried up about.
34:32three months ago.
34:33Why was that?
34:34John does things his own way.
34:36He wasn't too happy how the operation was being led.
34:38Well, what specifically was he unhappy about?
34:40Why are you asking?
34:41It's all in the files.
34:43That's the point, ma'am.
34:44It is.
34:46Maybe we shouldn't be having this conversation.
34:48Inspector, this is a lawful inquiry.
34:50It's your duty to cooperate.
34:59Why were you reassigned?
35:02Powell's version.
35:03I'd mismanaged John.
35:05Failed to keep him on side.
35:08This is your chance to put the record straight.
35:14John thought Pear Tree was showing signs of mission drift.
35:17I agreed with him.
35:18Drifting how?
35:19No.
35:20Our brief was to identify high-level links between organised crime and corrupt police officers.
35:26Instead, Powell was pushing us in the direction of low-level targets.
35:29What was discussed in your last communications with Corbett?
35:32John planned to climb up through the ranks of the OCG.
35:35He's a bright bloke.
35:36A natural leader.
35:38He reckoned that was the only way of making contact with the highest air shallon of corrupt officers.
35:43And then Powell vetoed the plan?
35:45That's when John threw his toys and we lost contact.
35:47Right, so was there ever any intel from Corbett on high-ranking corrupt officers?
35:52He believed he was onto the top man.
35:54Who?
35:55It was just a code name.
35:57Didn't even think it was real.
35:59H?
36:03Thanks, Inspector.
36:18You got a minute, John?
36:21Sure, yeah.
36:29Alright?
36:31Alright?
36:33You want a detention?
36:35You've got it.
36:41He's here.
36:54Who am I talking to?
36:56Just answer.
37:01We've seized automatic rifles from the police.
37:03They've already been processed through ballistics, so if they're used, they'll just be traced straight back to the police lab
37:08nowhere else.
37:21Oh, we're tools up, ready for a raid. I want a planter.
37:32It's the Eastfield Depot. It's where all the police forces in the region store seize contraband.
37:37Drugs, cash, jewels, precious metals.
37:40But we don't just want to wait for the transports and do it in dribs and drabs.
37:43We want to raid the place, take all the best gear in one goal.
37:47Look, this could be bigger than the Brinks, Matt.
37:55You know, like you said, maybe it's too hot to handle.
38:07I guess he's going to have a think about it.
38:29You have to get done.
38:38I don't know.
39:07Take the cuffs.
39:09Take them.
39:13Open the door.
39:14Open the door.
39:17Get in.
39:20Put the cuffs on.
39:21Put the cuffs on.
39:25Tie them to that gun.

42:49Dad, it's no one's fault but ours.
42:53Mine.
42:57Look, I never meant for this to happen. I just wanted us to have a better future.
43:01One bad decision, you know, one bad investment is that, you know...
43:05Is that any excuse to throw away 35 years of marriage?
43:10Thirty-seven.
43:12There you go. Come on, let's grab a table.
43:14No, I'm not here to eat.
43:18I, um...
43:22I'm here to ask you one more time to sign the papers.
43:29We may advise.
43:33Mine needs a wife.
43:41I've met someone else.
43:51Listen, love, you know, things have taken an unexpected turn, you know.
43:56An unexpected turn for the better.
43:57You know, all the money that I invested, there's a good chance that I can get some of that back.
44:01Not just some of it, but all of it.
44:04You want a better future, you have it.
44:07I found mine.
44:18Sign the papers, Dad.
44:22Okay.
44:31You're welcome.
44:441st.
44:462. 5.
44:474.
44:484.
44:496.
44:49I don't know.
45:22Boss, I've been thinking maybe we should put surveillance on Cavity's place.
45:27Any particular reason?
45:28Well, the OCG will be worried she can ID the female nominal.
45:31Maybe they'll try and finish the job.
45:32Okay, I'll think about it.
45:34Cheers.
45:49I need you to drop this to Cavity for me.
45:52She came through for us on the hijack.
45:54I want to keep her sweet.
45:56And what about the copper on the door?
45:58Oh, he's all right.
46:00He's one of ours.
46:04Come on, lad.
46:05Places to go.
46:08Nice.
46:11This don't feel right.
46:12I know what you mean, mate.
46:14I thrust Cavity as far as I could throw it.
46:17This is to flush it out.
46:19If you smell a rat, do anything necessary.
46:24Anything?
46:27Fill your boots.
46:44better Cavity
46:44I mean, no matter what you say.
46:58I am close.
46:58This is to understand the tools,
47:13Four five six four, go.
47:15Six four, receive.
47:16Go.
47:22Don't race!
47:23Boys!
47:24Don't race!
47:24Don't race the wall!
47:27What have you done?
47:27Have you grasped on us?
47:29No!
47:30Move back!
47:31Back!
47:33Back to the wall!
47:34OK, clear!
47:35On your knees!
47:36Do not move!
47:37Upstairs!
47:37On me!
47:38Open it!
47:39I'm police!
47:40Do not move!
47:41Do not move!
47:45I am a police officer.
47:47I am cooperating.
47:48Clear for injury.
47:50Captain, get out.
47:53That man who was just in here, I had never seen him before.
47:57Look around.
48:19Look around.
48:21Jane Carpity, I'm arresting you on suspicion of misconduct in a public office.
48:25You do not have to say anything, but it may harm your defence if you do not mention him
48:28and question something you'll later rely on in court.
48:35What the hell happened?
48:36Oh, he just said he had to go out.
48:38Who with?
48:39He didn't say.
48:40Where's John?
48:43The old boy Lee, he best not a scarf.
48:44He won't talk.
48:45No, he better not.
48:46Looks hard when the police knew he was there in the first place.
48:49Well, maybe they still had their suspicions about Caffetick.
48:51They must have kept surveillance on the house.
48:54Bollocks.
48:55No, we've got a rat.
48:56Get out there and find out who's grasped.
48:59Okay, John, you're sure.
49:00Come on, then, move!
49:01Okay, mate, no worries, yeah?
49:04Hey.
49:06It's not a word we throw around.
49:09This unit used to be run by Tommy Hunter before your time.
49:13Tommy got immunity, witness protection, the works.
49:16We still got to him.
49:18That's what happens to her rat.
49:43Don't worry, mate, I don't want to make sure that I'm there.
49:47Did it all work out?
49:47I told you.
49:49Well, don't take the piss, mate.
49:50It did, didn't it?
49:51I'd never get an honest copper kill, mate.
49:53The bent ones, they deserve it.
49:55The vehement.
49:55The lot of them.
49:56Right to the top.
49:57Look, Monique wasn't bent.
49:58She was trying to do the right thing.
50:00What?
50:00I'm doing the right thing?
50:01I'm doing more right than anyone.
50:03Look, if it wasn't for me, they'd all go free.
50:05Eight included.
50:06Think, mate.
50:07Monique didn't reach out to you or anyone else.
50:09She never told you what she was up to.
50:10And why was that?
50:11Because Aisland forced her out.
50:13And you lot backed them.
50:15Look, she's there just as much because of you.
50:19Don't put it right, mate.
50:21Yeah, do this for her.
50:23And we'll go after the bent bastards, whatever it takes.
50:27But once you're in, there's no turning back.
50:32Where are you in?
50:37Right.
51:02Right there, please.
51:10Never would have guessed we'd get so much out of watching Gafferty.
51:14Yeah.
51:15I've been developing it to use who hears things about the OCG.
51:18I wasn't sure if it was going to pan out or not.
51:21Someone I should know about?
51:22No.
51:23Low level.
51:24Definitely not something to bother at the eye about.
51:26Yeah, just the way I like it.
51:36P.S. Cup's here.
51:37You remain under caution.
51:38For the DIR, I am shown the interview at Image 19.
51:42At the time of your arrest,
51:44you were in the company of the person shown in Image 19
51:46identified as Lee Banks,
51:48a known criminal with a history of violent offences
51:50and a long-standing association with an organised crime group.
51:53How do you know Banks?
51:57I have never met Lee Banks before today.
52:00He gained entry to my home by false pretenses.
52:02Image 31 on screen shows item JD5 detected at your address.
52:07JD5 is an envelope containing £5,000 and £50 notes.
52:11How do you account for JD5 being in your home?
52:14That was Banks again.
52:15He must have placed the item there without the knowledge.
52:21In 2015, were you engaged in an extramarital affair
52:23you were determined to keep secret?
52:25Yes, Arna.
52:25This line of questioning is irrelevant and oppressive.
52:27Were you contacted by a representative
52:29of an organised crime group
52:30in connection with your extramarital affair?
52:33Jane, you don't have to say anything.
52:34Sergeant, assist with our enquiry
52:36and it will be taken into account.
52:47They even had photos.
52:50Photos of you and your lover?
52:53CCTV from a pub car park.
52:57God knows how they got them.
52:59They were going to show my husband.
53:01Everyone in my phone contact.
53:02The parents at my kids' school.
53:07To stop them distributing the photos?
53:10They wanted information
53:12on police operations,
53:15little things at first
53:16and then it got bigger.
53:19Bigger as in the transport of seized goods
53:20CD-905.
53:22Yes.
53:24So how did that work then?
53:27They already knew about the shipment
53:29from another source of
53:31civilian administrator
53:32who organised the transport
53:34and then they put pressure on me
53:36to rearrange the work schedule
53:38so that it would be my team
53:39responsible for escorting the transport lorry.
53:42Yeah.
53:43Which got three innocent members
53:45of your team killed.
53:46They weren't innocent.
53:47What?
53:48They were in on it too?
53:49Kevin and Ray were on the take.
53:52Carl had a taste for prostitutes.
53:56We thought we were just going to get
53:57minor injuries tied up
53:59and the OCT crossed us.
54:02They obviously didn't trust us
54:03to keep quiet during the investigation
54:06that was bound to follow.
54:08And the recent hijack,
54:10the firearms,
54:11what can you tell us about that?
54:14Well, I was all sick.
54:15I was still talking to other AFOs.
54:18Everyone was rattled
54:19after ED905
54:21so there was a lot of talking.
54:23I found out about the transport
54:26and the OCT sent someone
54:27masquerading as a nurse
54:28to blackmail me
54:30into revealing the details.
54:32They didn't just have the affair
54:34to threaten me with,
54:35they had the fact
54:35that I'd been complicit
54:36in the first hijack.
54:41who did the blackmailing?
54:43Woman,
54:4420s,
54:45mixed race.
54:49The person who first recruited you,
54:52the one who brought you
54:53into this network
54:54of corrupt officers
54:55assisting organised crime,
54:56was it this woman
54:57you've just described
54:58or this man,
54:59Leah Banks?
55:00Neither.
55:05A police officer?
55:08I think so.
55:11Stay here.
55:14D.I. Fleming
55:15is temporarily
55:16leaving the room.
55:16Let's talk to her.
55:29Let's go.
55:30I don't know.
56:01For the DIR, I'm showing P.S. Kafferty a series of images. KF1. KF2. KF3. KF5. KF6.
56:27KF1 to KF6 are a series of images of individuals known to be part of a clandestine network of corrupt
56:32police officers.
56:34I'm doing so in the full knowledge that any photo ID would not be evidential at this stage. DSR not
56:38agreed.
56:39Agree, Maul.
56:42P.S. Kafferty, do you see the person who recruited you?
57:04P.S. Kafferty, do you see the person who recruited you?
57:16P.S. Kafferty, do you see the person who recruited you?
