00:00it appears that matt eberflus broke a man not the mind of any opposing offensive coordinator
00:06it was the guy he forgot about on the sideline for the cowboys last season we got a couple of
00:13former cowboy retirements and the first one is logan wilson bye bye see you later man i do want
00:20to i need to i need to to dig on something a little more with that story with logan wilson
00:27especially now that everybody's gone the retirement or the him not getting into the game um because i
00:34remember so a couple weeks ago somebody had just offhand said something to me and it was somebody
00:39who i think would maybe know this but they just said well maybe logan didn't want to go into the
00:45game oh and i was like what do you mean like oh i'm just i'm saying and i was like
00:50okay and then i
00:50forgot to check on it but i need to check on that because i couldn't tell if they were just
00:53suggesting
00:54that and being like playful about it or that was legitimately something that was a play there but
00:59yeah poor poor logan wilson who i still think could help this team like i like i think if you
01:05would
01:05have left his heart in cincinnati uh his legs too um i charge 29 yeah 29 years old and i
01:13will always
01:14i mean his career to me is always going to be he was the phantom pass interference call that gave
01:21matthew stafford his super bowl because that was bengals rams and he was the one that got it was
01:25like fourth down or whatever it was in the red zone oh with the game ending and then they called
01:29a weak
01:30like hooking pass interference on logan wilson and that kept the drive alive and they were able to
01:35yeah you mentioned 29 and i you know i always talk about you know retirement and stuff do you imagine
01:40what do you what would you do for the rest of your life if you retire at 29 like i
01:44do i do imagine i
01:45would get bored at some point those guys though they'll go into coaching right i would get bored
01:50out of my mind after a while i don't think so how much golf and and you know can i
01:53do especially here
01:54where it's not can't even get access to the websites no this is the uh this is the the mountain
01:59west
01:59folks this is like this is vander ash this is logo they will go to a ranch in wyoming and
02:06like
02:06never come back around dallas or anywhere else the other was t y hilton oh i found out yesterday he
02:13was still in the league well well he's not yeah technically i mean i don't think zeke's put
02:19retirement papers in either but you know uh no this is uh t y hilton this is the the thing
02:24that
02:24blew my mind a couple weeks back when we were trying to talk we're getting texts from people
02:29on the the fan text talking about like what's the biggest play or something biggest moment of the
02:33cowboys in the last couple years and a bunch of people throughout the third and 30 with t y hilton
02:37against the eagles yeah and i said something about it during the break i was like oh man we forgot
02:41to
02:41mention this one and chops like i don't know what that is and i was like what oh yeah and
02:45then i
02:45described it because i don't remember that and then i showed him the play and he goes i don't remember
02:48that so he didn't even remember like the biggest play arguably from the cowboys the regular season
02:53the last five years but he uh yeah i mean that's t y hilton was somebody who i always thought
03:00should
03:01have been he was never built like him obviously he wasn't like a brick like him but i always thought
03:06that he could have had the capacity to do like tyreek hill style things if he just would have been
03:11healthy consistently and he never was oh run after the catch like tyreek he was i mean ty was fast
03:18i
03:19mean he's a tyreek hill is a different beast yeah in a lot of ways but like i mean he
03:23was fast and
03:24like he was he was super strong but i mean ty hilton was really really good another former cowboy is
03:29coming back to the nfc east the panthers are trading andy dalton to the philadelphia eagles
03:35for a 2027 seventh round pick so really an eighth round pick since it's next year seven
03:40right yes undrafted free agent really an eight so andy dalton and that backup how much money has he
03:46made let's look about how much money has andy dalton made meanwhile while you are looking that up
03:51mike florio dropping something 114 million pretty good yeah that's good mike florio dropping a little
03:59tidbit on aj brown with all the trade rumors they got scared off by some of the as i'm as
04:07i'm told
04:08preliminary medical research they decided too much of an investment for a player at this age
04:14general wear and tear you know we're not going to do it but they were lining it all up yeah
04:22so if
04:22they get aj brown they trade devontae adams and of course he's talking about the rams the rams got
04:28scared off because of some medical research on aj's knee we have not heard that at all so add him
04:35to
04:35the max crosby list yeah uh we've never heard that ever in regards to the los angeles rams who were
04:42like
04:42matthew stafford your arm's a noodle your shoulder doesn't work anymore we'll wait for it to fire again
04:47uh todd girley yeah we'll pay you a bunch for a bone on bone knee yeah we they have never
04:52worried
04:53about injury concerns like that and it'd be really odd with like no chatter about aj brown being that
05:01with like when they talk about wear and tear and something like the the little stuff that's coming
05:03up i don't ever think of aj brown as being like hurt guy yeah but the age i mean he's
05:09a bigger dude
05:10yep so he's i don't know he's carrying around more but uh i'm sure that there'll be some uh some
05:16firing back at that report with aj possibly traded as a post-june move draft sharks which i don't know
05:24what this website is i was just looking up aj brown injury history uh but draft sharks has a 76
05:30percent
05:30chance on aj brown of an injury in 2026 oh i'm putting percentages 76 percent but they have him as
05:40a
05:40high risk injury player next year well when they say injury do they mean season ended or just like
05:45uh his current projected games to miss is two and his durability is a five out of ten on their
05:51list
05:51todd archer with some cowboy notes espn.com one thing we heard about the cowboys behind the scenes
05:58san francisco initially thought the cowboys were willing to trade osa odigizua for monetary purposes
06:04and were offering a day three pick in return when they were informed the cowboys were willing to keep
06:09osa the niners gave up number 92 as a result the cowboys add their first day two selection
06:17biggest remaining whole middle linebacker they were in on quay walker nicobe dean and devin lloyd
06:23but could not close the deal they had tepid interest in the remaining free agents and now find themselves
06:28looking for a trade partner for a veteran the cowboys would rather not go into the season with a rookie
06:34serving as the green dot for their defense so maybe we can look around uh on that on that possible
06:40trade market to get a veteran linebacker after devin lloyd added to the list that they missed out
06:46on along with nicobe and quay well that's also uh that's worthy of applause i guess good for the
06:51cowboys that they were like nah we'll just keep the player and they were successfully drove up somebody's
06:56price because they historically have been the good the like they'll take anything yeah they'll they'll take
07:02whatever they'll they'll get rid of amari cooper for nothing and then they'll be the ones to go
07:06like oh yeah we'll throw a fourth round pick at jonathan mingo or a fourth round pick at trey lance
07:10so
07:11it's interesting could you imagine getting less for for amari than osa um yes two rounds yeah given
07:21where he where they were i couldn't understand it but not as little as they got um no but that's
07:27the
07:27i don't know that i buy that though so that might be a successful bluff from them because i don't
07:33think they were willing to keep them i think they were pretty set on we're gonna move osa the
07:37buccaneers made a bigger offer to mike evans than san francisco according to the tampa gm but it
07:44sounded like mike evans just wanted a different challenge to end the career cleveland browns and i
07:50hate this i think this has messed up the nba to a great degree cleveland submitted a rule that would
07:55allow teams to trade draft picks five years out instead of three years out and i want that
08:01quickly rejected i want that out of here i hate the nba trade talks and discussions they're giving
08:09up a 2031 yes it's i hate it it makes it too confusing to follow trade possibilities and all
08:16the different pick swaps as well and then it will go to this and then it'll jump to that team
08:20five six years down the road i don't care that it gives teams more flexibility i think
08:25a major important thing is to keep fans interested in these offseason discussions
08:29and trade talks within the year and when you throw out uh you know a second round or six years
08:36down
08:36the road i get lost with it i don't like it either uh and you know one of the things
08:40is these gms the
08:42gms that accept the first round pick five years from now deep down they know they're not that's not
08:49their pick yeah they're they're they're accepting that pick for somebody else and when you trade that
08:54fifth round pick or that that that first round pick five years from now as a gm when you trade
08:58it away
08:59you're like that's not my problem i'll be fired by then because that's just the reality of it is that
09:04these gms except for jerry don't keep their jobs for eight years anymore it's uh yeah the the other
09:09thing about that i mean not just to the it's hard to track and things like that it's it's a
09:14reckless
09:15thing to do with your resources that a lot of teams in the nba have shown a willingness to dallas
09:19is
09:19like we we all feel like dallas has has really stripped down to the bones like their ability to
09:26add young talent like we're just like sure throw us a a late first for anthony davis we just need
09:32any sort of draft capital that we can rebuild here because we've moved so many picks over the years
09:36and so yeah i think it's also just from a let's not let teams recklessly destroy their future and
09:41potentially get stuck for half a decade yesterday we had a mini debate over whether the cowboys
09:46offense was elite last year or not rj choppy finding some uh change in the couch to go and buy
09:53his
09:54stat to give us the answer yeah well you know i did look up they they did offer a free
09:59wasn't a free trial free trial now it wasn't they did it end unsubscribe from the roku they did it
10:04end of the year thing now they broke it down they didn't break it down by passing rushing all that
10:09it
10:09was just the offense defense specialty so we bobby and i leaned towards and said cowboys offense was
10:15elite last year choppy was disagreeing and you were looking for this dvoa stat i've got the stat for
10:22you didn't have to go that deep but go ahead and okay very good uh so i went back and
10:28looked and every
10:29team i feel like if you're like a top eight you should feel good about your offenses and they are
10:33top
10:33right the cowboys were uh a top eight offense but the difference between the eighth ranked and the
10:39fourth ranked offense is fairly small so the cowboys offense was 10 percent right i was at 10
10:45so my that's 10 above league average right just the baseline league average which doesn't sound like
10:52a lot but i think it really is a lot because when you're talking about eight to ten possessions
10:55being 10 better is quite a bit the fourth ranked team was 15 above above league average you know
11:01makes sense fourth ranked is 50 better than than eighth and 15 is 50 greater than 10 overall the
11:09number one offense was the rams they were 30 above league average 30 that's a massive gap between the
11:18cowboys and number one and it's a different stratosphere so knowing where they sit at eight
11:24and knowing how far they are for the rams does that at all change anything in terms of your
11:32willingness to accept an offensive player or not even enough i wouldn't even say the first round
11:36just not ignoring the offense in the offseason do the teams ahead of them were ram san fran new
11:42england buffalo indy green bay and detroit uh i don't i would not put new england or indianapolis
11:50as better than them offensively um a green bag if we talked into but i don't think so so i
11:56think
11:56you're looking at the rams detroit and buffalo uh as better and and from a points per game perspective
12:02that the dboa's efficiency so like if you get 10 percent 10 possessions you average 30 points a game
12:07that's basically the same efficiency as seven possessions and averaging 21 a game
12:12you know right it's three points per possession i just don't have obvious needs to where i'm like
12:17all right that's enough that's a draft improvement maybe terrence steel and as bobby brought up
12:23yesterday maybe tight end in terms of explosive but otherwise i'm going all defense that's me uh
12:28yeah i mean i it would have to be it would have to be a very unique situation uh for
12:34me to be able to
12:34say all right yeah i'm willing to go in on this i i really like the tight end idea now
12:39not i don't
12:39think in the first uh i wish that i wish they had more day two selections because that's where i
12:45think
12:45you could really have cowboys were bottom half in the nfl last year in red zone touchdown percentage
12:49there's another area for improvement
