A Pashtun human rights defender has made explosive allegations against Pakistan at the 61st session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva.Fazal Ur Rehman Afridi accused Pakistan of carrying out deadly airstrikes on Afghan civilians, claiming that a hospital bombing killed nearly 400 patients and injured many others. Speaking on the sidelines of the UN session, Afridi called the alleged strikes a grave violation of international law and urged the United Nations to launch an investigation and ensure accountability.He also highlighted alleged human rights abuses by Pakistan’s military in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, warning that civilians are increasingly caught in escalating military operations and cross-border tensions with Afghanistan.

00:49The matter of enforced disappearances has re-emerged because in 2025 and now in 2026, we have received an alarming
01:03increase in the enforced disappearances of the Pashtun and Baloch people.
01:09These people are forcibly disappeared.
01:11When a person is forcibly disappeared, that means he is tortured in the interrogation centers of the ISI and the
01:19military intelligence of the Pakistan army.
01:22And in most of the cases, these forcibly disappeared people are killed by Pakistan.
01:27So that is also our request to the United Nations and other organizations to take notice of this serious violation
01:35and make Pakistan accountable before the international community.
01:39Pakistani military is, you know, targeting civilians with relentless bombardment, mortar shelling, using, you know, drones produced in Pakistan.
01:54So on daily basis, we have, you know, the reports of the killings of innocent Pashtuns, innocent women and children,
02:06because when there are, you know, skirmishes between Pakistani army and their proxies, TTP, actually they don't attack each other,
02:16but they are in heavily populated area.
02:20They attack the houses of innocent civilian Pashtuns, where, you know, the innocent women and children are killed by both
02:29the Pakistani army and their proxies, you know, the TTP.
