00:00:40Come on, Gretel, lean back and stick them out.
00:00:43That's it, Betty, turn to your left.
00:00:44To your left, dummy, I said, to your left.
00:00:46Normie, can you get rid of that stupid look on your face, please?
00:00:49All right, shoot.
00:00:52Normie, little to the right.
00:00:54Betty, to the center.
00:00:56A little bit more there.
00:00:58That's it, to the center.
00:01:00That's right.
00:01:00Keep it now, quiet.
00:01:02Hold the position.
00:01:03Take it.
00:01:04Hold up.
00:01:05Back to first position now.
00:01:06You to the right.
00:01:07Not you, Einstein.
00:01:09Her.
00:01:10Finally.
00:01:11All right.
00:01:11Now let's see.
00:01:13Um, turn a little that way now.
00:01:16That's it.
00:01:17Take it.
00:01:18Please.
00:01:19Not bad.
00:01:22Okay.
00:01:23Okay, next slot.
00:01:25On the boards.
00:01:26Yes.
00:01:27Thank you, Groucho, Harpo, and Chico.
00:01:30Now let's see what we are going to do.
00:01:32Oh, Shane, you're a little heavy.
00:01:33You should go on a liver diet.
00:01:35And you put your, what's your name?
00:01:36Um, put your arms over your head.
00:01:38That's it.
00:01:39Gracefully, please.
00:01:41A little over here.
00:01:42Hands on the knee.
00:01:43Fabulous.
00:01:48We'll let you know.
00:01:51That's it.
00:01:52Thanks.
00:01:52See you tomorrow.
00:01:53Okay, Lil.
00:01:54Bye.
00:02:14Samara, usually pressed to go home.
00:02:16I must talk to you.
00:02:18I'm sure it can wait another day.
00:02:20After all this work, I'm kind of beat.
00:02:22Yes, but we're alone now, Lil.
00:02:24Oh, it's urgent.
00:02:25Yes, it is.
00:02:27Well, make it brief, Noemi.
00:02:29Sit down.
00:02:30Thanks, but no thanks.
00:02:32Well, let's hear it, Noemi.
00:02:34It concerns Kathy.
00:02:37Kathy?
00:02:39Yes, ma'am.
00:02:40We share the same apartment, but that you know.
00:02:42Yes, I know.
00:02:44And she's missing for some days.
00:02:47Well, she might have found work somewhere else.
00:02:50But I would have known.
00:02:52She's my most intimate friend.
00:02:55Well, now, it's not unusual.
00:02:58Kathy might just have found a really nice young man and left you all alone.
00:03:03No, Lillian.
00:03:04No, that's not true at all.
00:03:06You know she loves me.
00:03:08I can't take an interest in your private life, honey.
00:03:11I'm only your employer.
00:03:13Well, I know you telephoned Kathy only a few days ago.
00:03:16And you know something I don't know.
00:03:19A coincidence.
00:03:20I'm completely in the dark.
00:03:22I'm going to have to inform the police, Lill.
00:03:25That you shouldn't do.
00:03:27Then give me one good reason why not.
00:03:30You know perfectly well where Kathy is and what's happened to her.
00:03:34All right.
00:03:38She's out of town, special assignment.
00:03:40When it's over, you'll hear of it.
00:03:43But why is it so mysterious?
00:03:45It's for a new product we're managing and we're treating with maximum security.
00:03:49Till the proper time.
00:03:54Simple as that.
00:03:55I hope it is simple, yet I think that she's in jeopardy.
00:04:02I tried to leave you out of all this.
00:04:06But if you really want to know, meet me exactly at 7 at Pier 3.
00:04:12I'll see you then, Pier 3.
00:04:37I'll see you then, Pier 3.
00:04:41Well, yes.
00:04:44I wasn't sure you'd show up.
00:04:46But I was just checking on you.
00:04:48At 6, you're really a pain in the neck.
00:04:50Tell me what's going on then.
00:04:51This job isn't just mine.
00:04:53It depends on another person.
00:04:55The one who's paying, that's the one in charge of it.
00:04:58Get that through a blonde head.
00:04:59Well then, at least tell me what has been happening to my roommate.
00:05:04Follow me.
00:05:11Go ahead.
00:05:12Oh, you go first.
00:05:16Well, are you coming in or not?
00:05:23It's hard time you got here, baby.
00:05:29Who's she?
00:05:30Noemi, a pal of Cathy.
00:05:32Does Mr. Tucker know she's here?
00:05:34No.
00:05:36He may not like it much.
00:05:38Doesn't matter.
00:05:39She wanted to call the police.
00:05:41But why?
00:05:42Because of Cathy's disappearance.
00:05:44They live together.
00:05:46And she's worried.
00:05:48You're hired to prevent these things.
00:05:49It was just a question of a few days.
00:05:52Won't someone please tell me what's happened?
00:05:54Where is Cathy?
00:05:55She's in a boat.
00:05:56In a boat?
00:05:58It's broadcast time.
00:06:00She's been hired for a publicity stunt.
00:06:02In a boat.
00:06:04Whose idea is this?
00:06:05Yours or hers?
00:06:06You have to know.
00:06:07Mind you, I always thought it was a pretty terrible idea,
00:06:09but its real saving grace is its extravagance.
00:06:14I still don't get a thing.
00:06:16Then I'll explain.
00:06:17I'm Howard Tucker, as you no doubt know, the sporting goods magnate.
00:06:22On various occasions, I've utilized the services of the Berry Agency.
00:06:27Lillian's been a fantastic help in bringing about a birth of a colossal and a very beautiful idea.
00:06:34Oh, but it's true then that she's out in the middle of the damned ocean.
00:06:37Here.
00:06:38Is she all right?
00:06:40For company, she has the starlet Lorena Kaye who knows how to maneuver a yacht.
00:06:44But what do you plan to prove with all this?
00:06:47We have placed them at a point where they're bound to be seen by all sorts of boats on a
00:06:50major shipping route.
00:06:51So they'll be discovered.
00:06:54Accidentally, and of course, on purpose.
00:06:56Two bucks and beauties on the Atlantic in a motor cruiser, just as smug as a bug in a rug.
00:07:03But why didn't you follow them with a yacht, at least for safety?
00:07:06Now, that would have ruined the whole idea.
00:07:09Um, think of it from the publicity angle.
00:07:12It has to be casual.
00:07:13Well, if they're out there alone and helpless, the news will delight our friends of the press.
00:07:20And there'll be television and lots of publicity.
00:07:24Right.
00:07:26It still sounds risky to me.
00:07:29Does it now?
00:07:31Well, not as much as it appears.
00:07:33The Tucker Sporting Launch has undergone the most strenuous tests in the world.
00:07:37But if there's an emergency, I have a helicopter.
00:07:39The girls are well paid and they know what they're doing.
00:07:45Maybe, but I wouldn't do it for all the money in the world.
00:07:48I would.
00:07:49That just goes to show you that our friend Lillian knows how to pick the right people.
00:07:54Hey, I think I've got something here.
00:07:56This is H.T. speaking.
00:07:59This is H.T. speaking. Come in. Answer us.
00:08:01Come in, Operation Atlantic. Come in, Atlantic. Over.
00:08:05This is Operation Atlantic. Operation Atlantic.
00:08:08We can hear you perfectly, H.T. Come in.
00:08:11Give position.
00:08:13Kathy, this is no Amy.
00:08:14Cut it.
00:08:15Just exactly where are they?
00:08:16Give position.
00:08:18Hi, my mommy. How the hell did you find us?
00:08:21Don't throw the secret or we may have to kiss our Hollywood contract goodbye.
00:08:24Lay off the commentary and mark your position. Over.
00:08:27All right. Don't blow your cool.
00:08:29We're in about the same position as yesterday, as far as I can tell, surrounded by fog.
00:08:33We can't even mark our way by the stars. We'll stay drifting.
00:08:38What the hell is all this drifting about?
00:08:40They stopped the motor to maintain position.
00:08:42Where is the boat?
00:08:43I don't know. Not too far, of course.
00:08:46Now, listen to me carefully. Maintain your present position. Do you hear?
00:08:51For the moment, the compasses were still on course. Please don't bug me with any more complications.
00:08:56The fog is more and more dense. And it's amazing how hot it's getting around here.
00:09:01It's almost like, instead of going north, we're headed toward the tropics.
00:09:04It's like being on another planet or something.
00:09:07A sensation I've never felt before.
00:09:08Oh, what's that?
00:09:13What's happening?
00:09:15Even if you're having difficulty, you've got to stick to your course.
00:09:19There's a big dark galleon bearing down on us.
00:09:21Why don't you use your flares? Look under the cushion for the flare gun.
00:09:24Marina, the flares are under the cushion.
00:09:34Get the megaphone.
00:09:37Hey, you in the boat! You in the boat! Watch out!
00:09:40Give it to me.
00:09:42Hey, you in the boat! Can't you hear?
00:09:43Hey! Sky!
00:09:45Take it!
00:09:48They couldn't have seen our signal. What kind of a boat is it?
00:09:51There's no one on deck.
00:09:52Another flare, quick!
00:10:03Come in a clip. What's going on?
00:10:04The flares aren't doing any good.
00:10:06There must be some way to help the know.
00:10:08Where are your courses in the range?
00:10:10It's on top of us!
00:10:12Get charged!
00:10:21We're okay. The impact was light. There's not much damage. But it sure was scary.
00:10:25What's your condition?
00:10:26We seem to be taking on a little water, but it's not serious. We're safe, at least for now.
00:10:31And very lucky.
00:10:37The boat will withstand a lot. Almost everything.
00:10:39But get away from that ship, because it might be dangerous.
00:10:41But, Howard, the ship is motionless, and there's no one on board.
00:10:43Have you gone blind? What kind of a ship is that, with no one on board?
00:10:46Looks to me like a ghost ship that appeared out of nowhere, but it's big and sinister.
00:10:49Give it to me.
00:10:50I'm sending a helicopter.
00:10:52How long will it take you to reach us, Howard?
00:10:54I went out of this thing right now. I'm really fed up.
00:10:56I pay you to do as I say.
00:10:58Take it.
00:11:00Now, listen. We're all right. Don't worry, Mr. Deppert.
00:11:02Just get here, quickly. You can do whatever you like.
00:11:04But I'm getting out of this garbage scout...
00:11:06Oh, now.
00:11:18Well, at least you can do is help me.
00:11:20All right. Be careful.
00:11:22If you don't mind, I'll stay here.
00:11:27We've got it.
00:11:30Go.
00:11:33Careful.
00:11:33Now those imbeciles are going to ruin the whole idea.
00:11:36They've got a right to protect themselves.
00:11:39Don't butt into this.
00:11:40Let me in.
00:11:48podcasts.
00:12:04let me make this.
00:12:06It looks like it isn't that great.
00:12:08Let me in.
00:12:09Let me in.
00:12:16Let's go.
00:12:45Let's go.
00:13:11Let's go.
00:14:10Let's go.
00:14:10Let's go.
00:14:21Let's go.
00:14:51Let's go.
00:14:51I'm going to try to find a way out.
00:14:54Damn it.
00:14:55Take your hands off of me.
00:14:57You're hurting me.
00:15:00Stop.
00:15:02Let me go.
00:15:04Stop it.
00:15:06Stop it.
00:15:32How much time do you expect to keep me here?
00:15:35Don't worry about it, baby.
00:15:37Don't worry about it, baby.
00:15:37As soon as it's safe, we'll be glad to let you go home.
00:15:41Here.
00:15:45I need water.
00:15:48Drink some milk.
00:15:50I don't like milk.
00:15:51I don't like milk.
00:15:51I want some water.
00:15:55You're a pain.
00:16:24That's all right.
00:16:24I don't like milk.
00:18:01Come on, will you?
00:18:02Come on, will you?
00:18:49Come on, will you?
00:19:25Come on, will you?
00:19:30Come on, will you?
00:19:30This is Sergio.
00:19:32This is Sergio calling H.T.
00:19:34Come in, H.T.
00:19:35Over.
00:19:38This is H.T., this is H.T.
00:19:40Sergio, did you find them?
00:19:41Over.
00:19:41We've covered an area of 50 square miles.
00:19:43Not a trace of the launch of the Gaglia.
00:19:44I don't know what else to do.
00:19:45Over.
00:19:45I can assure you both there's never any fog in that region you've indicated to me.
00:19:50That just doesn't make sense.
00:19:51But, Mr. Tucker, we have a weather observation ship in that area.
00:19:55They'd have reported anything so peculiar as the phenomenon you've described to me.
00:19:59No, my friend, our ships are quite efficient.
00:20:01Besides, this is a no-pressure zone with absolutely no fog.
00:20:04And how can you explain to me how two girls got lost in a boat in a fog in that
00:20:08zone?
00:20:10They told you that?
00:20:11Yes.
00:20:12And they said the heat was equatorial.
00:20:14Hmm.
00:20:16At that point in the ocean?
00:20:17Mm-hmm.
00:20:17Well, were they, these young ladies, sending you up, my friend?
00:20:22No.
00:20:23May I ask you something?
00:20:24Do you know them very well?
00:20:25You're barking up the wrong tree, Professor Gruber.
00:20:27Those girls work for me.
00:20:29That's why I pay them.
00:20:30But, my good man, don't get so flustered.
00:20:32I only ask that because you know what's said about young ladies.
00:20:34You never know about them.
00:20:35I don't believe that.
00:20:36It's because they're professionals and they wouldn't take advantage.
00:20:40All right, then.
00:20:41The problem is yours.
00:20:42I'm not running a missing persons bureau.
00:20:44This is a research center.
00:20:45It is a scientific research center.
00:20:47Now, leave me alone.
00:20:48Let's get out of here.
00:20:51Wait.
00:20:56Professor Gruber?
00:20:59Professor Gruber?
00:21:01What on earth is it now?
00:21:04Well, nothing.
00:21:05I did come up with a strange idea, but I guess it's really not very important.
00:21:09Just about the galleon.
00:21:10What?
00:21:11Wait a moment.
00:21:12Excuse me.
00:21:12Did you say galleon?
00:21:13Did they mention something about one?
00:21:15It could be just a fantasy of the girls.
00:21:17Hold a moment.
00:21:18But what did they say about a galleon?
00:21:20Did they really see one?
00:21:22Yes.
00:21:22One went on board.
00:21:24At least that's what they told us.
00:21:26May we talk to the girls?
00:21:27Can you contact them and get a bearing on the galleon?
00:21:29Yes and no.
00:21:29We have to locate them and not just by radio.
00:21:32Well, they won't return.
00:21:35You can bet on that.
00:21:36They won't return.
00:21:37Nonsense.
00:21:39Nonsense.
00:21:40They'll never return.
00:21:41What do you mean?
00:21:42You know something we don't?
00:21:43That the galleon exists.
00:21:45Passing ships have seen it drifting on that meridian.
00:21:48But what has that to do with the girls not returning?
00:21:51I don't know.
00:21:53And I can't tell you either.
00:21:55I only know that those who have seen it up close have never survived.
00:21:59All the information we have on the abandoned galleon are, well, messages from several commercial ships.
00:22:04Always small craft.
00:22:05Here you may see.
00:22:06Just a few descriptions.
00:22:08Sent to us by fishermen and yacht captains.
00:22:11They never returned.
00:22:13Apparently just swallowed up by the ocean.
00:22:15But the ship must be out there somewhere.
00:22:16Oh, no. Forget that.
00:22:18We've sent out our aircraft, our towboats.
00:22:20All of our efforts have been completely in vain.
00:22:23But I don't believe in that.
00:22:25That's how the legend started.
00:22:27What legend?
00:22:28That it's a phantom ship.
00:22:30Could it really be possible that you haven't heard about it at all?
00:22:33I don't believe in Santa Claus, phantom ships, or fortune tellers.
00:22:36I can see you have a very practical mind, Mr. Tucker.
00:22:40That's right.
00:22:40And I find Twilight Zone tales ridiculous.
00:22:44Before my scientific background obligated me,
00:22:46to accept only the most immutable kind of evidence,
00:22:50not superstition.
00:22:54But now I've changed.
00:22:55But why?
00:22:56Well, you see, because some things can't possibly be explained by science.
00:23:00You mean all this about a disappearing ship?
00:23:02Well, as I said, I don't believe in your tales,
00:23:04and I've readied my yacht to go looking for the girls.
00:23:07You're determined, aren't you?
00:23:08I warn you, it could be dangerous.
00:23:10Whatever you say the risks are,
00:23:12I'm going to bring them back with me.
00:23:14Ah, very well.
00:23:15You're absolutely convinced, eh?
00:23:19Hold on.
00:23:20If you spot the phantom ship,
00:23:22would you make contact with me as soon as you can?
00:23:24I have no more time to entertain your fantasies.
00:23:30I think you've seen too many horror films.
00:23:31Very funny.
00:23:33Wait, wait a minute.
00:23:35Take me along with you.
00:23:36If you're lucky enough to find the ship,
00:23:37I've got to be there, if you don't mind.
00:23:39I'm not going to get out.
00:23:41I don't know.
00:23:41I'm going to dig.
00:23:46I don't know.
00:23:50Okay, sir?
00:23:56I'm going to leave.
00:23:57I'm going to leave.
00:23:57You're going to freak out aboutình sociale.
00:23:59I'm going to take you through my courtyard.
00:24:09But that was like, I will help you.
00:24:16Hello, HT. Hello, HT. This is Operation Atlantic. Do you read me?
00:24:26Come in.
00:24:32I can't hear anything. These earphones are broken. I don't know if you can hear me, but in any case,
00:24:37I'm going to try to give you the report for today.
00:24:40I don't have any news for you about Lorena. For some stupid reason, I've been asleep. I don't know why.
00:24:47I don't understand it. It's still very foggy, and the heat is really intense.
00:24:51I think that's why I'm so sleepy. The boat keeps filling with water, and I don't have the energy to
00:24:56bail it out, and I can't stand the idea of having to spend another night alone.
00:25:00I'm sorry. I just can't stand it any longer. I'm going to board the galleon and look for Lorena. Do
00:25:07you read me?
00:25:07I just hope you've heard me. Over and out.
00:25:18Oh, my God.
00:25:22Oh, my God.
00:26:01Oh, my God.
00:26:12Lorena, Lorena.
00:26:54Lorena, Lorena.
00:27:20Lorena.
00:27:33Lorena.
00:27:34Lorena.
00:27:37Lorena.

00:28:23Lorena.
00:28:46Let's go.
00:29:24Let's go.
00:29:34To maintain the speed, we should be there soon.
00:29:38You really think we'll see something around here?
00:29:39Oh, I think so, yes.
00:29:43Uh, why'd you get pulled into this, anyway?
00:29:47I often ask myself if I wasn't wasting my time among my maps, while others were leading more adventurous lives.
00:29:55I was tired of being a vegetable.
00:29:58Yet I'm not so sure about that phantom ship.
00:30:00What do you think, man?
00:30:03Nothing right now.
00:30:03I guess we'll find out, Professor.
00:30:06Do you know me?
00:30:07Are you angry I forced you to come along?
00:30:11It would be impossible for me if you'd gone to the police.
00:30:15And just what do you think I'll do when we return, eh?
00:30:18When we bring back your friend, your claim that she disappeared will look pretty silly.
00:30:23Why are you so sure?
00:30:25Because I pay her well.
00:30:27Same old thing.
00:30:29Money is disgusting.
00:30:39What happens if we can't find the girls out there?
00:30:42Oh, I think we'll find them.
00:30:44I don't.
00:30:46I'd be so cursed by the press and even my friends as the one responsible that I'd have to give
00:30:52up all my projects.
00:30:53Is that what preoccupies you?
00:30:56Yes, it's been many years, making my proposed boat a big success.
00:31:03And I'd have to abandon it.
00:31:06How about inventing some kind of a small story?
00:31:11What?
00:31:16Like what story?
00:31:19Oh, it's really very logical.
00:31:23The girls fooling around on a cruise that they don't know, a fight, imbibing too much.
00:31:29Then they go up on deck and splash go overboard.
00:31:32These things could easily happen.
00:31:35They'd have to believe, both Sergio and me.
00:31:39No Amy and the professor?
00:31:41Who knows about them barking with us?
00:31:44The two disappearances.
00:31:46We've no relation whatever.
00:31:58The two disappearances.
00:32:05You think so?
00:32:05No one says,
00:32:10No one says to me.
00:32:10No one says that.
00:32:10No one says to me.
00:32:11We've no one says to me.
00:32:11There's no one says.
00:32:12No one says to me.
00:32:19No one says to me.
