FLOODED STREETS TURN INTO PLAYGROUND DURING HAWAIIAN STORM
WITH VID
BY JAIANSH SHARMA
Heavy rain floods roads in Kona as people gather and ride through rising water during a storm.
Jeremiah Gormick, from Kona, Hawaii, filmed the scene while sitting on his brother’s truck as it drove through deeply flooded streets. The footage shows vehicles moving through high water while people stand, cheer, and ride on cars as the rain continues.
The video captures the scale of the flooding, with large sections of roadway submerged and water levels reaching up to vehicle doors in some areas.
As conditions worsened, law enforcement is seen using megaphones to warn people to leave the flooded areas, highlighting safety concerns during the storm.
Viewers shared mixed reactions in the comments.
One wrote: “Everyone having fun with this rain amazing.”
Another added: “As an older wahine now… I mahalo all the first responders that had to potentially exchange their lives for my entertainment. Be safe everyone.”
