Blind to Friends until Season 1 – and now Season 5 has me completely losing it! This season is pure escalation: secret relationships, insane jealousy, hilarious mishaps, and group dynamics on fire. From the post-London fallout to the biggest secret drop of the series, I'm hooked harder than ever – yelling, laughing, and shipping like crazy in 2026.My raw first impressions & biggest thoughts: Monica and Chandler's secret hookup from London turns into a full-blown hidden romance – the sneaking around, close calls, and eventual "I love you" moments are adorable and tense!
The "we were on a break" drama lingers with Ross's anger issues, divorce fallout, and Emily hunt – but the real bombshell is the group's discovery of Mon & Chan.
Iconic chaos: Ross's leather pants disaster (baby powder + lotion = paste nightmare!), "PIVOT!" couch-moving fiasco with Joey and Rachel, Phoebe giving birth to triplets (emotional rollercoaster!), Rachel's interview kiss at Ralph Lauren, Joey's modeling fails, Chandler's fear of commitment vibes.
The group hug reveal when everyone finds out about Monica and Chandler – heartwarming and hilarious.
Ross's rage blackouts, the nap partners episode, and more laugh-out-loud subplots that make this feel like peak Friends energy.
Season 1-4 built the foundation, but Season 5 feels like the show hitting its stride – deeper relationships, sharper comedy, and those unforgettable moments. Went from newbie to full superfan mode!No big spoilers in the intro, then full breakdown: highs (romance reveals, comedy gold), any lows (Ross's anger can drag a bit), and why it's essential viewing.

00:00Hey, it's Joe from B-Cam TV Studios, and I just finished watching Season 5 of Friends.
00:05And you know what, guys? I'm a fan. I'm a big fan.
00:08And I'm even kind of bothered right now that I have to stop and give my thoughts on each season,
00:14because that just means I can't jump into the next season,
00:17and lately they just keep ending on big cliffhangers.
00:21Like last season, Ross is about to get married to Emily,
00:24and accidentally says Rachel's name instead of hers.
00:26At this point, I have to say, why did you continue on with the wedding there, Emily?
00:30This is worse than when I married a lesbian.
00:32There was no hope for this thing, and you let it go?
00:36And then had the fight after the ceremony? Why?
00:40I hate you! And I love you!
00:43And what's great about the first episode of Season 5,
00:46is I think back to how TV used to operate,
00:50where you couldn't just have everything right at your fingertips,
00:53so you actually just have the intro to the show and the theme song
00:57kind of giving you a rundown of what last season's cliffhanger was all about.
01:01Really saves a lot of time.
01:03The other thing that happened at the end of Season 4,
01:05and is going to basically play a huge role in Season 5,
01:08is the hookup between Monica and Chandler,
01:12and I love this couple. I do.
01:15They have a really, really cute chemistry,
01:17and I hope this doesn't annoy me like Ross and Rachel does.
01:21I don't want any, like, bad things to happen to these two.
01:25Ross and Rachel should stay away from each other,
01:27but these two, I want to see this work.
01:30And Joey continues being my spirit animal.
01:32Unless something drastic happens,
01:34I don't think he's falling from the number one ranking on my board.
01:37The theme of this episode is that Monica and Chandler want to hook up again,
01:43but everybody, and I mean everybody,
01:47pops in and sticks around.
01:50And, you know, that's really, really annoying.
01:53Why are all the friends being cockbloggers?
01:55Rachel. Ross.
01:57But we'll stay here with you.
02:00Thanks, guys.
02:02Even Joey.
02:03Well, I've got a girl in here.
02:05No, you don't. I just saw you go in there with Monica.
02:08All right, I'm wondering, since we're already halfway into the show's run,
02:11is Ross always going to be miserable while everybody else is having good things happen to them?
02:17Emily comes to her senses and realizes,
02:19Oh, God.
02:20I just married Ross.
02:21And not only is he Ross, and Jesus, who the hell wants that?
02:25But he's hung up on Rachel.
02:27I don't know why she finished out the rest of the ceremony.
02:30She should have just left before saying,
02:32I do.
02:33But she's backing out now.
02:34And here are her parents to come collect her stuff.
02:37Monica and Chandler, they're hooking up all over England,
02:40and they even decide, you know what?
02:42Let's just do it even when we're back in America.
02:45I'm still on London time.
02:46Does that count?
02:48Oh, that counts.
02:49Oh, good.
02:50Yeah, I like this pairing.
02:51It's about damn time that Monica was happy.
02:54Ross, on the other hand, he's trying to get back with Emily.
02:58But in the meantime, he may still have feelings for Rachel.
03:02Ross is his own worst enemy, okay?
03:04He should know better.
03:05Like, stop poking around the Rachel thing unless you're serious about Rachel.
03:08And if you're going to pursue Emily, really pursue Emily.
03:12But no, he has to be freaking Ross about it.
03:15So when they're about to go to the honeymoon,
03:18oh, well, I guess you could come, Rachel.
03:20I'd really like you to come.
03:22And then Emily finally shows back up again.
03:24And yeah, Ross, you did it to yourself.
03:27Then he chases after Emily and strands Rachel again.
03:30So he loses on both ends.
03:32This is a hitter that grounds into the double play.
03:34And throughout the season, Ross just keeps putting his foot in his mouth.
03:38Rachel is my wife.
03:39I love Rachel.
03:40I mean Emily.
03:41Things like that.
03:42She's my wife.
03:43Rachel is my wife.
03:44Yeah?
03:45Emily!
03:45And on one hand, I cut him a break because Rachel feeds into this too.
03:50She only wants Ross when she can't have Ross.
03:53And whenever Ross actually has somebody, suddenly Rachel has feelings for him again.
03:57I make very bad decisions.
04:00They're terrible for each other.
04:01I don't know.
04:02Even Ross and Rachel in the second episode admit,
04:05all right, this is really messed up.
04:06We're both morons, aren't we?
04:08Hey, Ross, where's the missus?
04:10Don't know.
04:11We really have no idea what we're doing.
04:13So at least the show is self-aware.
04:16Monica and Chandler, they have to keep the charade up of,
04:19oh, we're actually still just friends.
04:23And then when Chandler accidentally kisses Monica in front of everybody,
04:26so he has to kiss everybody because that's a culture?
04:30And Joey's not having it.
04:32See ya.
04:34I wouldn't want this kind of greeting.
04:36And if you remember from last season, Phoebe is carrying her brother's triplets.
04:40That's still never going to sound right.
04:42Phoebe's water broke.
04:43She's about to give birth.
04:45So now they're in the hospital,
04:47and they're with this guy who's obsessed with the TV show Happy Days.
04:51This Fonzie person you keep referring to, is that another doctor?
04:56Oh, no, no.
04:57Fonzie is the nickname of Arthur Fonzarelli.
05:00And this is where it continues to be in that thing where,
05:04wow, these were kids of the 70s and 80s,
05:07so their pop culture references are going to be of what they watched in the 70s or 80s.
05:14Oh, no, really, I'm fully qualified to do this.
05:17Like me, growing up with the 90s,
05:20it's super, super weird to me seeing the actress who played Kitty Foreman
05:25just going for it with this make-out scene.
05:29And the thing I've noticed from watching all these Friends episodes
05:32is Phoebe is supposed to be, like, this nice kind of hippie chick,
05:36but when push comes to shove, she loves authority figures.
05:42And even though she's all, like, worldly and let's share,
05:45when something strikes her, she becomes a very materialistic.
05:49And she's no different in this episode,
05:52because when she's about to give birth,
05:54suddenly she's like, you know what?
05:55He's having three babies.
05:56I'll keep one.
05:58Frank and Alice are going to want to keep all of their children.
06:00Maybe not.
06:02Super odd, but I get it.
06:03She carried all these freaking babies.
06:05No, at the end, she does the right thing,
06:07because even though this is supposed to be an adult show,
06:11it's very much every Disney TGIF show when it really matters.
06:17So because this show is also from the 90s,
06:20there's so many, oh, my God, Chandler's gay.
06:24But what if Ross is gay?
06:25Is Joey gay?
06:27But this flips it,
06:28because Rachel goes in to wake up Monica,
06:31and Monica is naked because she thinks that she's there for Chandler.
06:36Sorry, I was up.
06:37I was taking a nap.
06:39Since when do you take naps in that position?
06:43Rachel interprets it that maybe she's naked for Rachel,
06:46and now Rachel has fallen lesbian panic.
06:49Oh, God, Monica, tell me you're waiting for a guy.
06:51Please tell me you're waiting for a guy.
06:52Which, I don't know.
06:53Maybe that's offensive to Ross's first wife.
06:56And I don't know, maybe this is just a me thing.
06:58But I like how Monica's hair looked in the first few episodes.
07:01This look, I hope it goes away.
07:03And I never would have suspected Phoebe as the kind of person who'd hate PBS.
07:08Ugh, PBS.
07:10What's wrong with PBS?
07:11What's right with them?
07:13Because Sesame Street never wrote back to her?
07:15Phoebe has, like, the most interesting backstory.
07:17Though Chandler's with his gay dad, that's something I'm kind of wondering if they'll explore more.
07:24We already really kind of know about Ross and Rachel and Monica's past.
07:29There's been quite a few flashbacks to then.
07:32Meanwhile, Ross has been trying to get back with Emily, who he hasn't seen since the wedding.
07:38Ross sucks.
07:40The guy has been married multiple times, and each one of those were disasters.
07:44I think the writers of the show also knew when they have to tone it back a little bit.
07:50When Ross is becoming so unlikable that they have to throw in a few things where you're like,
07:55Oh, okay, he's just Ross.
07:57He's fine at the end of the day.
07:59So Emily, and this is another thing that kind of bothered me,
08:03they've started making her more and more insecure, more demanding, and toned down her likability.
08:10Because she was really likable when you first meet her.
08:13But now, and for good reason, she has forbade Ross from ever, ever interacting with Rachel.
08:20Which, you know, it sounds like, wow, you're really telling Ross what to do.
08:23But in her defense, can you blame her?
08:26She's also like, hey, I'm not moving my life.
08:29You can now move your life over here.
08:31And I want to be around my support crew.
08:33Which, yeah, because if Ross is going to pull this crap, why is she going to ruin her life?
08:38But Ross isn't going to do it because one of the positive things about Ross is at least he's a
08:43good, attentive dad to his son, Ben.
08:45I'm sorry, I can't move to London without Ben.
08:48This is a major decision.
08:50And when you have a major decision, you got to talk it over with friends.
08:55Friends.
08:56The name of the show.
08:57We can't split up the group.
08:59You guys can't not see each other.
09:01It doesn't seem like it's going to work.
09:02There can't not be a Ross and Rachel, even if Ross is trying to make it work with Emily.
09:08And if Rachel isn't with Ross and everyone's got to choose sides, and apparently this crew had somebody that was
09:16like the Rachel or even kind of Joey of the group.
09:21When the relationship didn't work, this person got whacked out of the group.
09:25So Rachel is fearing that that could be her, right?
09:29Because everyone else has sort of deep connections, and she would be the odd one out.
09:33He and Monica dated.
09:34When they broke up, they couldn't even be in the same room together, and you all promised that you would
09:38stay his friend.
09:39And what happened?
09:40He got phased out.
09:42Jeez, relax, Mom.
09:44What did you say?
09:45I said, jeez, relax, Mon.
09:48Oh, no, no, no, no.
09:50No, no, don't not call your girl, Mom.
09:54Let's ease the tension here.
09:56So your weekend was a total bust?
09:58No, I got to see Donald Trump waiting for an elevator.
10:00Hey, I mean, meeting Trump, that's perfect.
10:03Yeah, Trump, relevant, 2025.
10:06Joey ends up being the first person that is able to put it together.
10:10Chandler and Monica hooked up, and they've been going together ever since England for the next, I don't know, five
10:17or six episodes.
10:18This is where Joey has to constantly figure out how to cover this up for him.
10:23And Joey's a bro, so he'll do that.
10:26Now at this point, they are really trying to nerf your opinion of Emily, making her overly possessive, and making
10:34you think, oh, poor Ross.
10:35He has to give up his apartment, and anything that even reminds Emily of Rachel.
10:40Well, you know why Emily's doing that.
10:42I'm with Joey.
10:43I really don't want the friend group to change either.
10:45We all hate Emily.
10:47And for the first time in what feels like a really long time, they make mention of the ugly naked
10:53guy who lives across the street.
10:55The ugly naked guy's back.
10:58You haven't seen him in so long.
11:01At this point, it seems like it's more drama and where they are now, and a lot of those things
11:06from, like, season one have kind of just been phased out.
11:10Like I said, I really felt like the monkey played a big role in this show, but no.
11:14They haven't even mentioned him since the Super Bowl episode.
11:18So this move isn't going to happen because Ross is just, he's not going to be able to give up
11:24Rachel, even though he's not back together with Rachel, and effectively causes himself to get a divorce.
11:31My marriage is over.
11:32Since the apartment they were going to move into was in Emily's family member's name, that's not going to happen.
11:40So Ross lost his apartment and has to move in with Chandler and Joey.
11:44This is in your standard sitcom where that character who's normally clean cut and with it becomes sloppy, pathetic.
11:53That's what Ross is, changing up the answering machine.
11:55He's really overstepping his bounds.
11:59We will, we will call you back.
12:02Really ruining the dynamic that Chandler and Joey have because he has to Ross it all up.
12:08They may like Ross, but they don't want to live with Ross.
12:11Why do they think Rachel would?
12:12And she's kind of moved on.
12:14There's a guy in the building named Danny who she accidentally sprayed in the face with, like, bug spray because
12:20of a misunderstanding.
12:21And now she thinks that Danny's giving her the cold shoulder.
12:25And when Danny got a shave, he's actually an attractive dude.
12:29So she has interest.
12:31And honestly, this guy seems with it a lot more than Ross.
12:34At least I thought there's a future episode where, no, you know what, stick with Ross.
12:37He doesn't have this going on.
12:39Danny, hurry up.
12:40The bat's getting cold.
12:45Danny's a little too close to his sister.
12:48What?
12:48Yeah, okay, I'll see you later.
12:50Now it's on to the annual Thanksgiving Day episode.
12:54Starts off, everybody's stuck, can't move, want to take a nap.
12:57Your typical Thanksgiving day.
12:59Oh, Monica, that was the best Thanksgiving dinner ever.
13:02And remember earlier when I said, oh, we kind of know about Ross and Rachel and even some of Chandler's
13:08background and Monica.
13:10Oh, we get more of it in this episode.
13:12Everyone's kind of got an old backstory.
13:14Chandler's 1978 Thanksgiving, where he found out his parents were getting divorced.
13:19And it's because his dad was gay and sleeping with the house boy.
13:24So besides the turkey, something was getting stuffed in that house.
13:28Joey getting a turkey stuck on his head.
13:30Finally, I know what that toy's about.
13:32Chandler should never rock that goatee.
13:35It looks terrible.
13:36And I like when Joey comes out with the turkey head on.
13:39Because, I don't know, it kind of looks like a taunt you would see in Fortnite.
13:43All right, I also want to know who did this 80s parody first of the Flock of Seagulls haircut joke.
13:49Was it Wedding Singer or is it Friends?
13:51Ross invited his college roommate Chandler home to celebrate Thanksgiving with the Geller family.
13:56And Fat Monica is back.
13:59And, you know, they were kind of flirting with each other throughout the series.
14:03But I didn't immediately think, oh, well, you know, there'll be a couple later.
14:07This kind of fills in the, why did they not just start off dating?
14:11How'd they just become friends?
14:13There was an initial attraction.
14:15I guess Fat Monica was really attracted to the Flock of Seagulls haircut.
14:19But Chandler was not attracted to her because she was a big, big, big girl.
14:23But then when he came back the next year and Monica had lost that weight,
14:26there was more of an attraction.
14:28But, you know, Fat Monica wanted her payback now that she was skinny Monica.
14:32She accidentally cut off the end of Chandler's toe.
14:37And how did Chandler forget that Monica is the one to have caused this accident?
14:41Why is he so stunned?
14:42Wouldn't you know the name of the person that caused part of your foot to be cut off?
14:46Monica makes it up to him by sticking the turkey out of her head and being funny.
14:50Which then it gets cute and there's an I love you.
14:54You love me.
14:56No, no.
14:57Stop it, stop it, stop it, stop it.
14:58And then Joey walks in and is freaked out by turkey head here.
15:05Joey's a bro, okay?
15:06I think that's why I have to have him ranked at number one.
15:09Honestly, I could see a few other people being favorite characters.
15:14Not Ross.
15:14If you are power ranking Ross at number one, leave a comment and tell me why.
15:19Because I don't think that exists.
15:21I don't think there's a single person that would put Ross at one.
15:24Joey's the kind of guy who covers.
15:26Monica and Chandler want to keep this a secret?
15:28Fine.
15:29It's killing Joey, but he's going to do it.
15:31If Ross is your number one, explain why he fixates over a Thanksgiving sandwich he created.
15:37I'm going to be divorced twice and I just got evicted.
15:39That sandwich was the only good thing going on in my life.
15:43He's got a son and the sandwich is better than his son.
15:45At least to him.
15:46Someday I'll tell you about the time I stabbed the cop.
15:49Maybe.
15:50But he stabbed me first!
15:51I need to know more about this backstory.
15:54Why did Phoebe stab a cop?
15:56Joey is getting really tired of having to cover up for Monica and Chandler.
16:01And I don't blame them.
16:02They're getting really, really sloppy now.
16:05Well, get ready to come out of the non-gay closet.
16:08And then we get hijinks, okay?
16:10So, Ross, whose only good thing is a sandwich, as we were learning about.
16:15His boss eats the sandwich, but doesn't eat the whole thing.
16:20He only ate part of it.
16:21He actually wasted the sandwich, which makes Ross even more and more upset.
16:26Well, it was quite large.
16:28I had to throw most of it away.
16:30You threw my sandwich away.
16:34As much as I disagree with Ross on pretty much everything, he is 100% in the right here.
16:42Why would this boss think it was okay to go in and steal Ross' lunch?
16:46Does Ross have to go to 11?
16:48No, probably not.
16:49Kind of should try to keep his job.
16:52But really, not only does this guy take the food, but he doesn't even eat most of the food.
16:57Somehow that's worse.
16:58Like, if you're going to steal, at least use everything you stole from me.
17:02The next time you see him, they have put him on leave from his job, and he's a sedated zombie.
17:08Kind of hope they keep going down this path with Ross that he just keeps making it worse.
17:13Chandler and Monica are also making it worse because they keep flirting and hooking up
17:18and leaving clues behind that Joey has to cover for.
17:22Like Rachel finding this naked picture of Monica that was supposed to be for Chandler
17:27that gets left out there.
17:29So she comes to the conclusion, oh my god, Joey is taking perverted shots of Monica,
17:35and he's creeping on all of us, which makes Joey look bad.
17:39And then they have to cover and lie even more.
17:42So when he's finally confronted, Joey has to pretend like,
17:45I slept with Monica.
17:49And he has to say this in front of freaking Ross.
17:51So remember when I said, all right, well, at least dating Danny's a step up from Ross?
17:56Turns out, not really.
17:58Even though Danny seems normal, he doesn't have the same hang-ups as Ross.
18:03He's got a weird relationship with his sister.
18:06I think everybody's thinking, oh, well, you know what?
18:09There's his brother and sister, and maybe they're a little bit more physical.
18:13Yeah, they'll wrestle.
18:14So what?
18:14Maybe it's just that type of household.
18:16But no, they imply at some point in this, it's definitely way more incestuous than that.
18:22Ross may have a point over old Danny here.
18:24But then again, in the other Thanksgiving episode,
18:27Ross and Monica are constantly fighting and wrestling like this,
18:31and nobody bats an eye there.
18:32How's Joey's acting career going?
18:35Well, you're just gonna say no again, but gay porn?
18:40Not well at all.
18:41Joey's just gonna have to pull a Sylvester Stallone and write his own screenplay.
18:46Maybe that's how he gets his big break.
18:48Is that gonna be a future storyline point?
18:50Like, oh my god, somebody bought Joey's script, and Joey's gonna star in it.
18:55Is that how we get Joey?
18:56The TV series?
18:57Maybe.
18:58So now it's New Year's, and Rachel finally learns, accidentally, about Monica and Chandler.
19:05Good.
19:06Why don't I just tell him at this point?
19:08It's really kind of stupid that why for New Year's, Monica is kissing Chandler,
19:12and then they have to figure out, well, okay, fine, who's gonna kiss Rachel,
19:17and who's gonna kiss Phoebe, and, well, Ross can't kiss Rachel because, you know,
19:22that's kinda, you know that situation.
19:24Also, nothing makes this more 90s than that bowl cut that Ben is rocking.
19:29You know why Joey is number one?
19:31Relatable things, like mowing down on this pizza by himself.
19:35We learn that Emily is getting married again, which maybe that's her M.O.
19:38She meets someone and falls in love really fast, and, I don't know, I don't think that
19:42worked out the last time you end up marrying somebody like Ross.
19:46You and Emily are in the past, and you can't be mad about the past.
19:49Well, are you still mad about, you know, the Louisiana Purchase?
19:52You know, you gotta give this show a lot of credit for a show that came out so long ago
19:57based on the fact that they were pimping Windows 95 personally.
20:01This show has a lot of current-day memes, like this one.
20:06We get the return of Chandler's boss, the guy who likes to smack everybody on the ass,
20:10and even the wife likes to smack people on the ass.
20:13Gee, I wonder who Chandler's boss voted for in 2016.
20:17I strongly believe that we should all support President Clinton, and her husband Bill.
20:24And guess who's back?
20:26Janice!
20:27And Ross hooked up with her.
20:29Even Janice gets tired of Ross.
20:31She pities him.
20:32And this is a chick who Chandler had to go to Yemen to get away from last season.
20:36Unfortunately, I just don't think I can take another second of you whining!
20:43She is rejecting Ross.
20:45Ow.
20:45And Ross feels really guilty that he hooked up with Janice, considering, you know, her past with Chandler.
20:51But Chandler is more than okay with that, but he uses it as an excuse, so when Ross does eventually
20:58find out about him and Monica,
21:00well, hey, I let you get away with hooking up with Janice.
21:04You can't get mad if I hook up with your sister.
21:06But I want you to remember that I forgave you.
21:09And I like the 1998-ness of this episode, where they have to figure out what to do with Joey
21:15and Phoebe.
21:15So the whole plot for them is, oh, they're going to the movies to see You Got Mail.
21:19Tom Hanks, Meg Ryan, they get mail and stuff.
21:23The big thing from this episode is Rachel finally, finally, and they won't come right out and say it.
21:29They have to play a cat and mouse game.
21:31She finally learns, yeah, Monica and Chandler are a thing.
21:36So now, like Joey, she has to keep this secret.
21:39You know, I get the feeling while watching Friends, it's so focused on, like, one or two characters.
21:45Sometimes you can go episodes where Phoebe's not doing a whole heck of a lot.
21:48And then you've got to make it up, and, all right, we're going to have a real Phoebe-centric episode.
21:53And in this one, it starts off with her grandmother dying.
21:56What?
21:56Is everything all right?
21:57Oh, yeah, no, no, I'm fine.
21:58I'm okay.
21:59But my grandma sort of died.
22:01So now there's a funeral.
22:02And at the funeral, we finally meet a character who may be your dad.
22:08And Phoebe has to figure out just how she feels about all this.
22:12Does she want to make peace with her dad who abandoned her?
22:14Does she just want to not deal with any of this?
22:17Well, she decides, all right, I'm going to throw some questions out there that I always wanted answered.
22:22And if this guy is my dad, at least, you know, I'll know some things.
22:26And without outright saying, hey, I'm your daughter, she interviews this guy who seems unusually close to the dead grandmother.
22:34And, yeah, that's her dad.
22:36And he's a big-time coward.
22:37But he, you know, has somewhat of an excuse.
22:40He didn't know the mother killed herself.
22:43So he never knew to re-contact Phoebe or Ursula.
22:47Still, he sucks, okay?
22:49The best thing about this episode is learning that when Phoebe sings Smelly Cat,
22:54it's just a reworking of a lullaby that her dad sang to her when she was little.
22:59Sleepy girl, sleepy girl, why won't you go to sleep?
23:05Episode 514 is called The One Where Everybody Finds Out.
23:09So I'm going to assume that everybody finds out.
23:11That's what the title said.
23:13And right off the bat, through the reverse peephole, which is from the naked guy's apartment,
23:18Phoebe is able to catch Chandler and Monica in the act.
23:21So now it's just Ross who doesn't know.
23:24Since Chandler and Monica have not told Phoebe, she's going to mess with them.
23:28Phoebe, uh, that's part of her personality, too, is you think she's all sweet.
23:33No, she actually likes to torture people.
23:35In a fun way.
23:36It's a very quirky way of doing it.
23:38But she's, she's sinister.
23:40Oh my god, she knows about us.
23:42Are you serious?
23:43Phoebe knows and she just went to freak us out.
23:45Meanwhile, we actually finally get to meet the ugly naked guy.
23:49He looks about what I thought he was going to look like.
23:52A little more hair.
23:53I actually thought he'd look more bald and fat.
23:56People have been sending the ugly naked guy gifts to get this excellent apartment in New York City.
24:01Ross had the same idea, but Ross is cheap.
24:04But Ross can schmooze, which ends up with him and the ugly naked guy lounging around butt-ass naked.
24:10I guess gifts won't work, but solidarity will.
24:14It's naked Ross!
24:15Here it is, Ross!
24:17Now, Ross lives across the street from Joey and Chandler and Monica and Rachel.
24:23And he can see right into their apartment.
24:26While this is all going on, his boss is over, about to give Ross' job back.
24:30But Ross notices Monica and Chandler going at it, and he freaks the hell out, scaring his boss.
24:38Yeah, things have to keep going bad for Ross.
24:41I just, you know what, at this point, after five seasons of dealing with Ross' crap, just suffer, Ross.
24:46Just suffer.
24:46I like that Ross isn't even really that upset that Monica and Chandler hooked up, because it's not really a
24:51hookup.
24:52They're going out.
24:53They're dating.
24:54This could lead to something, and that would make Chandler family.
24:58So Ross is actually thrilled about it.
25:00My best friend and my sister.
25:04I get it.
25:05You like brothers.
25:06Now you're almost basically brothers.
25:09I thought you guys were doing it.
25:10I didn't know you were in love.
25:12Oh, wow.
25:13Okay, so I mentioned TGIF, and yeah, Marla Sokoloff was in this, and she's one of Joey's girlfriends.
25:19Chandler and Monica might have legs, so obviously that might be kids and marriage, and for some reason this freaks
25:26Chandler out, even though...
25:27I mean, really?
25:29You didn't think that's where it was going to lead?
25:31If it's not a hookup, and it's actually serious, what?
25:35You didn't expect Monica, who's been trying to find a serious relationship and broke up with Richard for this exact
25:41reason?
25:42You didn't think that was going to come into play?
25:44Chandler, I really don't understand this episode, because he now is freaking out, and then to make it right, he's
25:49going to propose to Monica, but not in the right way.
25:53I don't know.
25:54Whatever he's doing, it's wrong.
25:55The other thing that felt wrong, though I'm wondering if this leads to anything, Joey begins hitting on Phoebe and
26:03Rachel as options.
26:05Who are my friends?
26:06You and Phoebe.
26:09I saw you first, so...
26:11I guess, right, if everyone else is dating within the group now, I mean, you could do a lot worse.
26:15But I don't like it.
26:16At least Phoebe is dating outside the group.
26:18She finds a badge, and then ends up dating Michael Rapoport, which I'm sure in the 90s seemed okay, like
26:24he was an edgy edgelord.
26:26But now I just see this guy who just talks a lot online, and sometimes it's like, okay, I guess
26:34we're agreeing on this thing, but most of the time, we're not.
26:37And now I just see a whiny Twitter user.
26:40X user, okay?
26:41X.
26:42Oh, and I think that's Laverne from Scrubs, isn't it?
26:45I just don't understand how anybody could really be friends with Ross.
26:48You do him a favor, and then he gets really pushy, and needy, and clingy, and bossy, and...
26:54Honestly, I could see why he's already been divorced twice.
26:57Also, Ross, in a future episode, breaks the bro code.
27:01He's snitching that Chandler may be flirty with other girls.
27:05Chandler was totally flirting with a hot delivery girl.
27:07Seriously, what does he do to actually be a good friend?
27:11I like this episode where Rachel, her subplot is she's getting cut out at work because her boss and the
27:18other girl she works with are constantly going out to smoke, and Rachel doesn't smoke.
27:22So now she has to fake it to fit in.
27:25But then she decides, oh, well, I'm quitting too, and you guys should quit.
27:30And then when they fail quitting, she's re-cut back out because they're back outside falling off the wagon, and
27:35both of them tell her, oh, no, be strong.
27:38Keep going for us.
27:39We're terrible.
27:40And Chandler is like my dad, where when you give up smoking, you're still addicted to the smell, even though
27:46I think it's friggin' awful.
27:47Common way you fall below, I mean, do you like cigarette smell, or do you find it as disgusting as
27:52I do?
27:53I think you smell great.
27:54Phoebe had a thing for the guy who was the health code inspector, and now she's got a thing for
27:59the cop.
28:00I guess if you have a badge, Phoebe is instantly attracted to you.
28:07What is this song?
28:09And did the early internet meme where people used this song, did it come from this episode?
28:14Or does this even predate that?
28:16Like, what are they referencing?
28:20I swear to God, you'd go on new grounds when this song would play.
28:23Remember how I said Emily was getting married?
28:25Well, she calls Ross thinking, maybe I gave up on the marriage too soon.
28:29I'm having regrets, do you think we should try to make it work again?
28:33Are you thinking about me?
28:35No, of course you're not.
28:36But if you are, call me tonight.
28:38Okay, now that you're really making Emily unlikable too.
28:41Maybe I was a little too harsh on Ross.
28:43While I'm watching this episode, I was also falling asleep to episodes of Conan O'Brien,
28:48and his assistant, Sonya, was talking about how she, at work, was binging through episodes of Friends.
28:56And I was like, holy shit, I'm doing the same thing.
28:58Yeah, what's he gonna do?
29:00He's like, Ross is gonna run over there on the wedding day and break up the marriage?
29:03I mean, who would do that?
29:09But then they brought up this story of Robert De Niro suing somebody who worked for him
29:15for stealing funds and being on the clock while watching Friends
29:20instead of doing whatever the hell she was being paid to do.
29:24Robert De Niro.
29:25Joey and Rachel, is it gonna be a thing?
29:28Please don't be a thing.
29:29This all leads up to the finale of the season, where Joey gets a call, and the call is like,
29:36hey Joey, come, be part of this movie.
29:39We'll give you a piece of the action.
29:40This film could be your big break.
29:42But everyone kind of thinks, eh, it's gonna be a big nothing.
29:45Chandler's seen this song and dance a million times, and while he believes in Joey, he just
29:50thinks, this is a terrible deal.
29:52You're being used.
29:53Joey doesn't want to hear it, so him and Chandler have a big fight, and Joey storms off to go
29:58film this movie, which is filming out near the deserts in Vegas.
30:01And at the beginning of the season, there was this little kind of story arc where Phoebe
30:05was super jealous that the gang all went to England, and none of these memories include
30:09her.
30:10So now, they're gonna go to Vegas.
30:12And you know what?
30:13Phoebe's not being left behind.
30:14They want to go see Joey.
30:16Support him.
30:17Chandler's trying to be a bro.
30:18He just, he went about it in the wrong way.
30:20Turns out, when Joey got to the set, they didn't have the funds to make the movie.
30:25The shoot's gonna be down for weeks, possibly forever.
30:28And Joey doesn't want to crawl back and admit Chandler was right, that this was gonna be
30:32a huge bust.
30:33So he got a job working in the casinos in Vegas.
30:37So now, Monica and Phoebe and Chandler arrive, and they see Joey working the casino because
30:44it was a bust.
30:45The movie got shut down because they ran out of money, so I'm working here until it starts
30:49up again.
30:49Whatever it does.
30:51After having lunch with Richard, Monica realized there's no feelings anymore.
30:55She really, really loves Chandler, and it takes Chandler a little bit to realize that's what's
31:01going on.
31:01That all gets solved.
31:03Since Rachel got left the apartment by herself, somebody convinced her that, hey, you know
31:08what's fun?
31:08Walking around completely naked and free in your own place.
31:13Except, Ross lives across the street, and he sees naked Rachel.
31:17He's only human.
31:18One of the ways I actually do relate to Ross.
31:21And he thinks that she's doing that on purpose?
31:24Does she want to get back together?
31:25Goddammit.
31:26We're back in this rollercoaster.
31:27Well, the ego's over there.
31:29It was a big misunderstanding.
31:31Maybe.
31:31And now they're kind of just busting each other's balls as they make their way to Vegas.
31:38You weren't trying to entice me with your nakedness.
31:42No!
31:44And you thought you actually thought I wanted to have sex with you?
31:47Oh, no.
31:50Rachel!
31:51Stop!
31:52I think I might have to drop her down to six.
31:55I thought Ross was the worst.
31:57No!
31:58Rachel's evil!
31:59And Joey, stay out of that vortex, okay?
32:02Stay out of the Rachel vortex!
32:03Well, in Vegas, Monica and Chandler have decided, you know what, let's get married.
32:09Which is a lot like the made-for-TV movie finale of Saved by the Bell.
32:13Did they do it?
32:14Did they get married?
32:15Is Chandler and Monica now a married couple?
32:18Wait a minute.
32:19Ross and Rachel got married?
32:20That was not what I was expecting.
32:22Alright, maybe since my knowledge only seemed to be like the very first season, maybe during
32:28season five they had a big massive wedding or there was a big massive wedding in season
32:32six and they really built it up.
32:35Not have them married now on a whim as sort of a twist ending right before we head off into
32:42the summer of, I don't know, what, 98, 99, 97, 2000?
32:46Anyway, that was season five and I'm glad I'm recording this video now because I really
32:51want to get on to season six.
32:52What the hell happened?
32:54Anyway, if you like this video, like, click, and subscribe and once I finish Friends, part
32:59of me wants to try to do Frasier, but if you got another sitcom show or movie or something
33:04that you want to get my first time reaction to and notes and recap, leave it below.
