Watch the tense moment two fishermen carefully cut ropes tangled around sea lions to free the animals from dangerous cage lines.
Victor Gabriel Boava da Silva, a businessperson from Paulinia, Brazil, shared the rescue filmed near Robinson Crusoe Island.
The footage was recorded by Fábio Kanazawa as Victor Gabriel and Rodrigo Tokunaga approached the struggling sea lions from their boat.
Two sea lions had become trapped in thick ropes connected to lobster cages, leaving them entangled and struggling in the water.
Using a knife, the fishermen carefully grabbed the ropes and began cutting through the tangled lines while the animals remained close to the boat.
After several careful cuts, the ropes were removed, allowing the sea lions to break free and swim away safely.
The clip was shared on Instagram where one user commented: "Thank God we also have good souls who do good for these animals."
