BY JAIANSH SHARMA
Check out this dramatic underwater rescue as divers race to free a spinner shark trapped in a thick mooring line in the Maldives.
Mark Cornall, from Bateman, Australia, captured the emotional rescue while working with Diveclub Maldives. The video shows the severely entangled shark struggling in the water after becoming caught in a mooring line and marine debris.
Mark and his friend Emilio Mignoli carefully approached the distressed animal and worked to cut through the rope and free it. After a tense struggle underwater, they successfully released the shark, allowing it to swim away into the open ocean.
The rescue was carried out by Mark and Emilio, who both work for Diveclub Maldives, with Emilio cutting the rope that had trapped the shark.
Mark said: “Watching a wild animal struggle, knowing that every second mattered, was absolutely heartbreaking. He described the experience as stressful and emotional, saying he felt “shaken, sad, relieved, and incredibly grateful” after the rescue.”
Viewers praised the divers for stepping in to help.
One commented: “If you had not spotted this poor baby, it would have never gotten a second chance at life!”
