00:00Kyri Jamaluddin declared he was coming home after formally applying to rejoin UMNO some three years after he was sacked

00:09In a Facebook post today, the former UMNO youth chief also said he wanted the party to withdraw his sacking

00:15so he could get his original membership number back.

00:19He said he hopes the UMNO president, Supreme Council and Rumah Bangsa committee will consider his request, referring to the

00:27committee that oversees an initiative to unite the Malays.

00:32Kyri said his decision to return to UMNO's fold was not for personal gain and pledged to contribute to the

00:39party as a regular member.

00:41Earlier today, UMNO president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi confirmed that Kyri had applied to return to UMNO when they met yesterday.

00:49Kyri, a former minister who held various portfolios, was sacked from the party in January 2023 for breaching party discipline

00:57during the 2022 general election.
