00:00Bersatu President Muhyiddin Yassin says the party must survive after finding itself alone in the opposition.
00:07In a Facebook post, Muhyiddin claimed Bersatu was now Malaysia's only credible opposition party.
00:13He said Pakatan Harapan and Barisan Nasional were both in government,
00:17while Perikatan Nasional's cooperation with BN meant it also indirectly supported the administration.
00:24For me, the issue isn't whether Bersatu can survive. It must survive, he said.
00:30Muhyiddin claimed there was now a political vacuum,
00:32with no credible party to check government policies or represent Malaysians facing higher living costs.
00:39He blamed PH and BN for policies that he said had burdened the public, including higher diesel and petrol prices.
00:47Muhyiddin also accused UMNO and BN of using calls for Malay and Muslim unity to win support.
00:52He said Bersatu remained committed to its founding struggle against kleptocracy linked to the 1MDB scandal.
01:00For the August 1st Negeri Sembilan election, BN will contest 25 seats while PAS-led PN will contest 11.
01:08Bersatu, which has broken away from PN's electoral arrangement, is contesting 24 seats under its own logo.
01:15PAS has cut political ties with Bersatu, although both parties remain members of PN.
