00:10According to sources who asked to remain anonymous, Azmin, the state's opposition leader, told

00:15several division leaders that he would turn down the offer.

00:18One of the sources said Azmin rejected the post as a matter of principle as he wanted

00:23to focus on Perikatan Nasional's goal of wresting Selangor from Pakatan Harapan in the next

00:29However, the source said there had been rumours that Azmin was not keen on a downgrade as

00:34he previously held a Deputy President post for PKR.

00:38Last week, Muhyiddin said Azmin would be offered the post of Secretary-General given his ability

00:43and political experience.

00:45He said the current Secretary-General, Hamzah Zainuddin, would be made Deputy President

00:49in recognition of his contributions as PM Secretary-General and opposition leader in

00:54Parliament.

00:55Ahmad Faizal Azumu would step down as Deputy President and run for one of the three Vice

01:00President posts instead.
