00:48:04Rise up! Spend the night of Laylat al-Adha in worship! Spend the day of Yawm al-Haymah fasting!
00:48:15"Indeed, Allah the Almighty says." For on this night, our God manifests Himself in the heavens of the world and calls out to us as follows.
00:48:25Is there anyone who repents to Me, who asks for forgiveness of their sins, that I may forgive them?
00:48:36Is there anyone who asks Me for sustenance? I will provide for them. Until dawn, until the morning, our God, can you imagine?
00:48:44Show us God's mercy. Don't belittle yourself. Don't say, "Who am I that God should call upon me?"
00:48:52God is closer to you than you are to yourself. There is a God more merciful than your mother. Today, when you die, those who love you will bury you and take care of you.
00:49:06They will also throw soil on top with their hands.
00:49:08What kind of love is this? You won't be able to take your possessions with you where you're going, young brother. You won't be able to take your factory with you where you're going.
00:49:16You won't be able to take warmth or cold with you to where you're going. You'll be entering a tiny space.
00:49:21Or your faith will tell you that the grave is a window to the hereafter, that death is not nothingness, that death is not non-existence.
00:49:32You'll find comfort in believing it's a window to eternal life. Or you'll think, "I'm already dead in this world, I've suffered so much, and now I'm just going to rot away."
00:49:41You will be in great anguish wondering if you are going to be buried in the ground.
00:49:44Which is beautiful? Faith is beautiful. Now, imagine a woman, a mother, coming to our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with her child in her arms.
00:49:55Our Prophet is on his camel. O Messenger of Allah, this child is my son. Do not throw him into the fire. I do not want even a single hair on his head to be harmed.
00:50:06Tell me, is Allah more merciful, or am I? Our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) says, as narrated by a Companion of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
00:50:16He made the camel kneel down, got off, knelt down and said,
00:50:20By God, Allah is more merciful than you. By Allah, Allah is more merciful than you. May Allah have mercy on our mothers. May He grant long lives to those who are still alive.
00:50:30Appreciating mothers is one thing, but we have a Lord who is even more devoted to us than our mothers.
00:50:37No connections are needed. You don't need to call someone to make an appointment. You don't need to wait in line.
00:50:44When you say "Allahu Akbar," and then say "Bismillah" and take a sip of this blessing He has given you, Paradise will be yours.
00:50:51And our Lord will open the gates of Paradise for us. He will open the gates of mercy for us. He will open the gates of His pleasure for us.
00:50:57Let's think about these things during these nights, God willing. Here, in front of me, Abdullah ibn Masud (may God be pleased with him) says:
00:51:06Nothing in the world brings me as much joy as these four or five verses.
00:51:14It's full of good news. He says, "Even if you gave me the world, I wouldn't trade it for these verses."
00:51:20He says this to the person who is on the journey to the afterlife.
00:51:23I don't know, I mean, we should really be thankful that we have faith, dear friends.
00:51:28Let us appreciate the value of faith and Islam.
00:51:31Hopefully we will represent ourselves well.
00:51:35Without further ado, in the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
00:51:45Our Lord says, in a verse from Surah An-Nisa:
00:51:50Don't we want to be forgiven?
00:51:52Would we not want to hear it directly from our Lord?
00:51:56We want that, don't we?
00:51:57But through the Quran, our Lord speaks to us.
00:52:00Imagine that we are hearing the words emanating directly from His very being.
00:52:05The Quran promises this.
00:52:07You command.
00:52:08O My servants, if you abandon the major sins that Allah has forbidden,
00:52:16God forgives your other sins, your minor sins.
00:52:21And He will admit you to His Paradise, where His bounty and mercy are abundant.
00:52:26O God, make us one of them.
00:52:27Teacher, could you please list the major sins so we can know?
00:52:31Since even minor sins are forgiven.
00:52:33The company [of God] commits acts of charity, such as consuming interest, lying, slandering, practicing witchcraft, and sorcery.
00:52:41These are especially matters that involve violating the rights of others.
00:52:45In matters involving the rights of others, God does not manifest His mercy until the wronged party forgives the other party.
00:52:54But there's good news for her too.
00:52:56I'll share that too if I have time.
00:52:58Another verse.
00:52:59Inne Allahe la yazlimu miskalezzarra.
00:53:02God does not inflict even the slightest injustice on His servant.
00:53:05And intekü goodnesse yudhaifha.
00:53:07If he does a good deed, he will receive manifold rewards, thousands of times greater.
00:53:16And He will grant him a great reward.
00:53:20We have a God who bestows immeasurable rewards.
00:53:32O my Messenger, Muhammad Mustafa (peace and blessings be upon him).
00:53:36If they had come to you when they committed a sin.
00:53:41If you had asked Allah for forgiveness for them, Allah would have accepted their repentance.
00:53:46Oh teacher, we have passed away, we are gone, our Prophet has passed away.
00:53:52He passed away.
00:53:53But here we are, alive and well.
00:53:56How will that work for us?
00:53:57Being in his mosque, following his Sunnah, and keeping the promise we made to him is like him being alive, you know.
00:54:06He is alive with his spirituality, with the Quran he brought, with the Sunnah he bestowed upon us, his presence is among us, and the meaning he brought is very much alive.
00:54:17We believe that.
00:54:18Now, by coming to this mosque, to this sacred place called Mugmaberk, we renew our faith in him and what he brought, believing that God will protect us in his name.
00:54:28May God forgive him.
00:54:29God forgives all sins except associating partners with Him.
00:54:40So, no matter how sinful it may be, we're not saying this to encourage you to commit sins.
00:54:48"I have sinned, but don't lose hope thinking you won't be forgiven," says our God.
00:55:00"O my servants who say, 'I will not be forgiven,' who despair, thinking, 'My sins are many, Allah will not forgive me,'" says our Lord.
00:55:10Do not lose hope in me, God.
00:55:12There is no sin I will not forgive, except associating partners with Me.
00:55:16So don't confuse the door, don't confuse the place where you're going to seek asylum.
00:55:21But give up sin as soon as possible.
00:55:24Come to me pure and clean.
00:55:26May God grant me the ability to be like that.
00:55:28وَمَنْ يَعْمَلْ سُوَا نَوْ يَظْرِمْ نَفْسَهُ سُمَّ يَاستَغْفِرِ اللّٰهِ يَجِدِ اللّٰهَ غَفُرًا رَح۪يمًا
00:55:34Whoever repents after committing sins unintentionally or unknowingly will find their repentance accepted by God.
00:55:44After these verses, let us also make this promise.
00:55:50Even though our religious scholars sometimes argue about whether or not there are holy nights, you shouldn't pay any attention to them.
00:55:56Even if only as a tradition, it is a gift from our ancestors and something our elders and scholars have passed down to us.
00:56:04There are narrations about the Night of Berat and the Night of Qadr that have reached us in the most reliable way.
00:56:11We are experiencing a night in which we will seek refuge in God's mercy.
00:56:17Let us appreciate our holy nights with this in mind.
00:56:21But don't be angry with me.
00:56:23Not just from one religious festival to another, not just from Friday to Friday.
00:56:27Shall we promise to stand before our Lord five times a day, God willing?
00:56:31We will repent in a moment.
00:56:33Here I have a hadith in front of me.
00:56:35I shared it on Sunday as well.
00:56:37Besides our responsibilities to God.
00:56:39Can I take a couple of minutes?
00:56:40May I?
00:56:42I hope I won't take too much since it's a holy night.
00:56:45Promise.
00:56:46We have a promise to our God.
00:56:48Our God has bestowed upon us so many blessings.
00:56:50Five daily prayers await us.
00:56:52He waits every night.
00:56:53Actually, you know that hadith I just read?
00:56:55Is there anyone who asks me for possessions, for life, for children, for forgiveness, for sustenance?
00:57:01It happened every night, every dawn, actually.
00:57:05He is the Ever-Living, the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing, the All-Seeing, the One Who does not let deeds go to waste.
00:57:10So let's think of it this way: O God, you loved me and bestowed upon me all these blessings.
00:57:17I hear the call to prayer five times a day, but I pretend I don't hear it.
00:57:20Oh God, lift it up, lift it up, O God who lifts up the heavens and the earth!
00:57:25Oh God, who holds the sky up to our faces.
00:57:28Let us pray to You, saying, "Just as You remove the sun, remove the heedlessness from my heart as well, God willing."
00:57:33And on the other hand, dear friends.
00:57:35Think about the helplessness and abandonment of Gaza, O Muslim community.
00:57:38Pray for them too tonight.
00:57:40Unless we unite under the oneness of God and the banner of His Messenger, there will be no victory.
00:57:48God forbid, perhaps what happened to Gaza will happen to us as well.
00:57:51May Allah awaken us all, the entire Ummah of Muhammad, from this heedlessness, Insha'Allah.
00:57:56But there's something else.
00:57:58It is a hadith.
00:58:01It's as if I've just heard that hadith for the first time recently, which a very valuable teacher of mine reminded me of.
00:58:05I shared it on Sunday.
00:58:07Our Prophet (peace be upon him) said that every Muslim is like a guard at a fortress of Islam.
00:58:14He says, "Make sure there are no infiltrations or attacks against Islam from the place where you are on guard."
00:58:20You might not like yourself.
00:58:22You say your prayers aren't accepted, or that you only pray occasionally.
00:58:25But when we recite the Shahada (declaration of faith), besides our act of worship, we also have a representative role.
00:58:32Looking at us, some people will either turn away from Islam or come to love Islam.
00:58:37Someone will be watching our lives, our children will be watching, our neighbors will be watching, our workers will be watching, our spouses, our friends will be watching.
00:58:44And if we live according to Islam, we will love God.
00:58:47May no one be distanced from God because of us, God willing.
00:58:50Don't say, "I'll drink, I'll go out, I'll sin as I please."
00:58:55Your child will imitate you, too.
00:58:57If someone becomes faithless because of you, the sin will be immense.
00:59:00Or you say you are a Muslim, but you commit all kinds of sins, and there is no example to be followed.
00:59:04Please forgive me.
00:59:07I'm not saying this to accuse you; it's just a conversation with myself.
00:59:11I met a friend, a memory.
00:59:13He wants to memorize the Quran at the age of 35-40.
00:59:16He wants to complete his studies at the Faculty of Theology as an external student.
00:59:19I asked, "Why all this fuss?"
00:59:21What happened to you?
00:59:23Why is he starting to memorize the Quran at this age?
00:59:25"Don't ask, teacher," he said.
00:59:27I was working in a restaurant.
00:59:31There was no prayer, no Friday prayer, I didn't know anything about mosques or anything like that.
00:59:35And sins were being committed in that restaurant.
00:59:38There was alcohol involved, and all sorts of sins.
00:59:41He says he had a friend who was an atheist.
00:59:44We were friends.
00:59:46He didn't believe in anything.
00:59:47I used to hang out there occasionally.
00:59:49He was making fun of it too.
00:59:51May God not make us faithless, my Lord.
00:59:52May God show us the value of faith, Insha'Allah.
00:59:55Then he says, one day we went, excuse me.
00:59:58We're brewing, you understand.
01:00:00I can't understand why he's conforming to the customs of this place.
01:00:03"We're brewing," he says.
01:00:05"We're drinking," he says.
01:00:06I told him, "Oh, and so on."
01:00:09I said, "Why don't you give up atheism and become a Muslim?"

01:00:13He started laughing at the sound of the laughter.
01:00:16I asked why she was laughing.
01:00:17I'm telling you something.
01:00:18My son told me to go.
01:00:19"Don't you have anything else to do?" he asked.
01:00:21"There's no difference between you and me," he said.
01:00:24"You're just like me," he said.
01:00:27Son, you don't go to the mosque, and neither do I.
01:00:29You have no Friday prayer, no ablution, no ritual bath, nothing at all.

01:00:36Once again, we are at the edge of a person who is forbidden according to your beliefs.
01:00:40You're telling me to become a Muslim.
01:00:42"What difference will it make?" my son says.

01:04:05Grant us abundance in our material and spiritual sustenance.
01:04:08O God, grant that our last breath be among the most beautiful breaths.
01:04:11Life the way you want it,
01:04:13Grant us the grace to live sincerely, faithfully, and steadfastly.
01:04:17And he sensed that he was going to die,
01:04:19during prostrations, while performing the most virtuous deeds,
01:04:22Please, let us take our last breath.
01:04:24I bear witness that there is no god but Allah.
01:04:27And saying, "I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and messenger,"
01:04:30to give our last breath as our most beautiful breath
01:04:33May He grant it to us all.
01:04:34His servants who are here,
01:04:36their homes spotlessly clean,
01:04:38cleansed of sins,
01:04:39distilled, clarified,
01:04:41with the new decisions,
01:04:42O Lord, bring them back to their homes with great eagerness.
01:04:44Amen, walhamdulillahirrahmanirrahmanirrahim.
