02:35Last night cabaret artiste vanessa put on a speakeasy show
02:45But it was more speak over than speakeasy when it came to chatterbox danny

02:58With danny I'm like felt like my eyes were rolling into the back of my head the bulk of last

03:02And I just had to say something and the jives kept coming one of my jobs
03:07And is I'm a special voice-over artist can't imagine danny it's anyone wanting to grow over
03:15Very rude I think I pulled out a winning night because it was a bit unusual and everyone really seemed
03:21to enjoy it
03:22It wasn't quite enough to trap top spot though with a score of 32
03:27So danny's got it all to do tonight i'm going to be well behaved
03:34Richard might try pushing my buttons but he won't get anywhere i'm too uh no i know what he's like
03:39i think danny's gonna go absolutely posh i'm definitely expecting from danny's menu chips and gravy
03:46danny so yeah it's loosely based on uh me and my travels and my life and places that mean a
03:52lot to me
03:54and first on danny's world tour is the starter a tapas of meatballs chorizo croquettes garlic and chili
04:00prawns and padron peppers i think i had danny down as a bit of a beige buffet kind of guy
04:07which you know spice it up turn turn the notch up on it a little bit and that's what we've
04:12got as a
04:12starter we've had chorizo already this week but yeah i like that lucky for you danny's starting with
04:19his chorizo i mean it is chorizo but you sound a bit of an idiot if you say that how
04:25rotty dare you
04:28slightly well done but it'll be absolutely fine and i'm going to save this lovely fat to make my
04:33bechamel sauce which he makes by adding flour and milk look at that nice and smooth now
04:41in goes the chorizo and manchego cheese and the mixture's shaped into small sausages
04:48before being dipped in flour egg and bread crumbs what do you call a uh a female crocodile what croquette
04:55oh rubbish you said it elton john's actually a big fan of tapas his favorites the the croquette man
05:05oh all right that's quite enough of that the croc's ticking they'll be deep fried before serving
05:11the meatballs and prawns are really easy to do like i'll do them midweek like for tea
05:16well tonight it's the end of the week but you're still having them for tea in with the beef no
05:22yes and graces for this you've just got to get your arms in and get it get it all mixed

05:27the mince onion herbs and spices get a mix along with breadcrumbs before being sphered a beautiful board of
05:34baby bowls they're browned along with the tomato sauce before some prawn poop plucking no one wants
05:41a poop fruit in the prawn do they well quite he'll fry his prawns and peppers fresh tonight
05:47the next flight to catch is to the far east for thai green curry with egg fried rice i've had
05:54obviously thai green curry many times even in thailand um so yeah um i know what to be looking for
06:02so we've gone from spain to thailand it's like a trip around the world for the curry paste a plethora
06:10of thai aromatics including galangal and lemongrass get a good old bash
06:19i do love um a curry in all of its forms i'd like a different kind of cover like i'm
06:27more like
06:28like just a regular chicken curry with onions and peas in it a really mank version of a thai curry
06:35might green chili be a little too exotic then i'm not going mega spicy because i don't want to take
06:42people's faces off how very hospitable it's blended in despite having a nice little sun tan i'm still
06:48feeling uh still feeling a bit pasty better get it on the heat then oh yeah nice sizzle smells good
06:55already in go red onions smells of thailand or as the locals might say lovely jabley yes i'd brush up
07:05on your thai he adds coconut milk which the chicken will poach in later tonight i'm using chicken thighs
07:11for my curry because it's from thailand that one was actually quite good that's all he can do now
07:18so it's on to dessert golden syrup sponge with custard where's that from so we've gone from spain
07:24to thailand are back again to the uk ah the uk of course oh that's so adorable that's so
07:32wholesome i did a sponge so it's going to be battle of the sponges
07:37who's got the better sponge well he's not getting his out of a packet for a start it's
07:42an old recipe it's always been in the family my mum makes it excellent my grandma used to make it
07:46excellent and it's one of the few desserts that i really showed it up i can't mess this up i've
07:50really got to focus and so he does firstly on butter and sugar before adding vanilla extract it
07:59doesn't look like a lot but a little dribble goes a long way yes he cracks in eggs along with
08:04ginger and
08:05flour this is where i could mess it up and it's becoming a bit heavy you want it to be
08:10really
08:11light mixture lightly folded now for the golden syrup easy squeezy the sponge batter plops on top
08:19i presume he's made his own golden syrup sponge that's yeah that's not exactly dead straightforward
08:26if he has to steam it and things not quite so i'll leave those there for now so i'll microwave

08:33before serving and hopefully after four minutes they'll be light and fluffy and delicious right

11:27and the prawns are well and truly cooked mate i'm not being funny that's really tasty
11:33just time for a final garnish and bingo who's got the lingo now hey not me a selection of tapas

14:46it's all spooned on garnished with coriander if voila in a hurry tie green curry indeed don't worry

17:15a little bit of silly fun and everyone embraced it which is great i was expecting more if i'm being
17:21honest how about a microwave dessert fingers crossed oh it's nice and spongy moment of spongy truth
17:32then okay okay i'm pleased with that i'm pleased with that mum will be proud it's joined by some
17:39microwaved custard and it's micro done golden golden syrup sponge and custard hey here we go here we go

18:13made in a microwave with a shop bought custard wasn't the best of things to have heard i'm not a

18:22of things cooked in a microwave i did wonder when he said it was his grandma's did she have a

18:28back in the day i don't know well now it was invented in 1945 so it's possible yeah i definitely
18:34think i've ended on a high i think the dessert was i thought it was delicious maybe we'll we'll be
18:38knocking on the door we'll see not long but there's just time to find out what people thought of
18:44their nights pauline champagne oh read out loud i'm gonna cry oh pauline was horrible oh quite in a
18:55good way that's good i thought she was absolutely fine pauline is the equivalent of a big warm hug

20:01main just wasn't up to my taste so for that i'm going to give him an eight i was expecting

20:07things from danny his starter was a hit his main was awful for me dessert was great entertainment
20:12really really let it down so tonight i'm going to give danny a six i've had a fabulous night tonight
20:18at danny's night he's obviously a very passionate cook his food was great and that's why i'm scoring danny
20:23an eight so tonight i'm giving danny hold it right there it's up to the host to reveal the results

21:18i thought at the beginning of the week i might do it but um i had a little wobble but
21:24i promise you
21:25now i will never ever have self-doubt in myself ever again
21:33the fact that i was second place that was absolutely fine knowing that richard was the
21:38winner i am so so happy
21:43i don't think i did actually expect to come last but i don't think anyone does
21:50well done a thoroughly deserved win i've learned a lot this week
21:56i wouldn't say necessarily all about cooking but yes i've learned a lot
