00:00This next one is my friend Zoe's favorite thing
00:02I've ever taught her,
00:03that you can make homemade sausage in your food processor.
00:06Why would you do that?
00:08A, because it's cheaper.
00:10B, because you can control exactly what's in it,
00:13no mystery ingredients.
00:14This is also a great hack to do with leftover steaks
00:17or stew meat.
00:17You can make your own ground beef for burgers.
00:19I'm gonna make pork sausage
00:22by using just boneless pork chops.
00:25These are sometimes usually around $5 a pound,
00:29where one pound of breakfast sausage
00:32also costs about the same thing,
00:33but you're also paying for a lot of fillers and chemicals.
00:35All you have to do is take whatever meat
00:37you're looking to do, cube it up,
00:40and pop it in your food processor.
00:41This is one of those things where you're like,
00:43duh, why have we not been doing this?
00:45Plus one pack of pork chops,
00:49it's gonna make a lot of sausage.
00:51It's a great thing to do when meat is on sale.
00:53Straight in, depending on how much you have,
00:55you may have to do this in batches
00:57or how big your food processor is.
00:59You know, good and well, you didn't think it was gonna work.
01:02That is perfect ground meat.
01:04You could stop here and you've got perfect ground meat
01:06for whatever recipe you're looking to use it in,
01:09whether that be ground beef, chicken, or pork.
01:11I'm gonna turn this into sausage.
01:13So I'm just gonna go ahead and add my seasonings in,
01:15give it a couple pulses,
01:17and we have fresh breakfast sausage.
01:19Sage, little fresh thyme, little rosemary, kick it up.
01:23See, I mean, you can control the heat level,
01:26the ingredients, nothing mysterious.
01:29If you're a fan of maple sausage,
01:31you could add in a little maple syrup here.
01:34And that's a lot of sausage for about 10 bucks.
01:36I like to make sausage patties,
01:38and then you can freeze them raw or cook them
01:41and still freeze them for a quick and easy breakfast.
01:44This is some beautiful breakfast sausage.
01:46You're also getting all meat in here and not a ton of fat.
01:49You can choose a fattier cut of meat if you want,
01:52but I'm really proud of that.
01:54Telling you when meat is on sale,
01:55this is what you need to be doing with it.
01:57So tender, it's perfect.
02:06Truly some of the best breakfast sausage I've ever had.
02:09I just love being able to taste
02:11exactly what I know we put in it.
02:13And we have plenty left over to keep our freezer stocked.
