00:00great job by the way i cried oh thank you thanks valentina
00:10you're gonna be the person you decide to be you're gonna be the person everyone else tells you
00:14you get to choose can i come visit you sometime i really enjoy the walley's character so i want
00:21to ask you how much do we all need a walley in our lives oh i think i i think
00:28we definitely
00:28everybody needs a walley and also everybody needs an uncle frank at the same time i love walley yeah
00:36there's something about the you know the the walley and um and frank complete each other you know i
00:43mean frank is such a i love that scene for instance at the where he discovers that he's been following
00:49them in a in a car he's so relentlessly optimistic and positive and and and the courage of his
00:58convictions that he knows better than frank does what frank needs um you know we we i i i do
01:04need
01:04that in my life sometimes you know i love that he is absolutely convinced that frank needs to reunite
01:11with his family despite the fact that frank has never showed anyone uh interest in doing so but
01:20he's right and he knows knows his his uh he knows his boyfriend well and that's beautiful
01:28walley says that nice always hides something so i want to ask you do you agree with him or not
01:38i think in in certain instances yes i'm from the south and i i come from a place where people
01:45uh women
01:46especially are are sort of taught to be happy and cheerful all the time and nice and it doesn't
01:53really leave you know that's great and everything but there's a lot to being alive and being a human
01:59that is not nice and they're and and so i think if there's if that's just never allowed to be
02:07expressed
02:07it's covered up with being friendly and nice and sweet all the time that it's gonna it's gonna find
02:13some other weird way to come out um so i would i would i would be tempted to agree with
02:20wally in that
02:20regard yeah i think for the most part that's true
02:27it's it's strange how in um american cinema um people always um know each other better when they do
02:36road trips so i want to ask you how important is to share experiences with others how important
02:43is doing something real not online not virtually together how important is to share experience
02:51together well i think it's very important in terms of like having real experience and not just having
02:55virtual experiences uh and i i think there's a reason that that road movies are such a a classic
03:03genre is that i mean it's such a perfect metaphor it's like everybody's on a journey but for this
03:10particular time their on their journey is together for me i love i love a road trip um and i
03:17love a
03:18road trip because you have a very clear objective every day when you wake up and yet it's a very
03:24simple objective you just usually you just have to get from a to b and it allows you a lot
03:28of time to
03:29talk or indeed if you don't feel like talking there's lots to look at that is changing constantly and
03:35it feels like a very relaxed way to um to uh spend time with uh someone
03:44yeah the real uh experiences are better than virtual experiences uh except in very few cases maybe agent
04:00uh your character says to um sophia lily's character that she mustn't be afraid uh of being
04:10who she is but it's really difficult so how can we find the strength how can we find the strength
04:15how can we not be afraid in your opinion who me yeah both both of you yeah uh i don't
04:24know um
04:24uh that's a pretty big question i mean i guess getting right with yourself and being okay with who
04:33you are is this is is sort of the job of growing up isn't it uh i i suppose uh
04:41and there is a power
04:43in knowing who you are um you know um uh and i have become as i get older i'm less
04:54crippled with
04:55embarrassment about mistakes i've made and and or or things i've gotten wrong or i don't feel the need
05:02to cover up my um you know lack of education as much as i i i i used to for
05:11instance i don't know i i um
05:14i think i think getting to getting to know yourself and be okay with yourself is is is the uh
05:21is is um the
05:23stuff of becoming an adult i i i at 50 years i'm nearly 50 years old i'm getting closer
05:32to being an adult i think i think uh i think you know being being who you want to be
05:42and and being who
05:43you are in the face of societal or or or cultural expectations that you've been taught um is is scary
05:56uh and but i also think we we tend to think sometimes that bravery is the absence of fear
06:01and i think it's i don't think that's what it is i think it's just action in the face of
06:05fear
06:05i think there's not a way to do it without it being scary you just have to confront the fear
06:10and live with the fear uh and it's only in that way that you can start to transcend the fear
06:17because
06:17if if you just if you just live with it it's going to start to lose its uh its power
06:23as if as opposed
06:25to trying to to push it away and not have it be there okay thank you so much great job
06:32by the way
06:32i cried oh thank you thanks valentina thank you bye
