A Venezuelan woman was badly injured when a pick-up veered off the California main road in Couva, crashing into two other vehicles and the woman.

Another man who was also walking along the pavement, narrowly escaped.

Our reporter Cindy Raghubar-Teekersingh visited the scene of the crash today and tells us more.

00:00While casually walking along the main road in California, Coover, around 10.33pm on Tuesday,
00:06a Venezuelan woman escaped death, but not serious injury,
00:10when a vehicle veered off the roadway, crashing into the vehicle she tried to hide behind.
00:16Another man, also there at the time, was not hit, but appeared disoriented after the near miss.
00:47When we visited the scene of the crash on Wednesday,
00:51a man who had only seconds before passed the location with his sister and nephew, recounted what he saw.
01:16He says for an individual to hit someone and drive off without care is unacceptable,
01:22and said street vendors today were afraid to sell their goods in fear of reckless drivers.
01:49He urges drivers and people in general to look out for each other, and to have more love in their
01:55hearts,
01:55so that we can keep TNT peaceful and safe.
01:59He had this message to the driver responsible for injuring the woman.

02:11come and say she's son and she's family, right?
