01:39Ashmoon Lalchan, the sister of Hasina Matura, was seen collecting the broken pieces of her sister's wristwatch as she recalled the moments following yesterday's incident.
01:48I was home babysitting my granddaughter and two gentlemen came and calling, hello, hello, hello.
01:56And when I came out, they say, look, come, come pass here, mommy.
02:00Say, come, your sister get an accident.
02:02I say, what?
02:03They say, yes.
02:04I'm the bus.
02:05She got an accident with the bus.
02:06I left my granddaughter sleeping in the weather and I run out.
02:09I open the gate and I run out.
02:11And when I run out, when I came here, it had all the passengers around her.
02:15And she was lying down in the ground here and I told them, I said, nobody touch because the passengers wanted to turn her, to move her from that position and turn.

02:26She told the media her sister was rushed to hospital where doctors were forced to perform an emergency surgery in attempt to save her sister's hand.
02:35When she went to the casualty day, they say about her, all the doctors then say about her, and they said she had to go to an emergency surgery, which she did last night.
02:45Okay, I got the word from the doctor concerning her and they tried to save her hand.
02:49And they put some steel in her hand and some screws in her hand.
02:53And hopefully, with therapy, she may, but the doctor said she will stay there for a few weeks because how she's elderly and she's diabetic.
03:04According to a police report, the PTSD driver told officers that Matura lost her balance while attempting to exit the bus.
03:12The driver said he tried to hold her to prevent the fall but was unsuccessful.
03:17In a statement, the Public Transport Service Corporation sought to correct reports circulating online that a woman's arm was severed.
03:24The PTSD said this was not the case and confirmed that the passenger remains in stable condition and is receiving medical care.
03:32The corporation also stated that its representative have visited the hospital and remain in contact with the woman's family.

03:53The question was put to the Transport Minister during the urgent question part of the lower house sitting today.
03:59The corporation continues to implement its driver recertification program, which is designed to reinforce safe driving practices,
04:09operational standards, and adherence to established protocols.
04:12In addition, the PTSD utilizes its internal investigation processes to thoroughly review incidents
04:20with findings used to inform future operational decisions and strengthen preventative measures.
04:26Where investigations identify breaches of policy or standards,
04:31appropriate action is taken to ensure drivers are held accountable.

04:40The corporation is in contact with the passenger's family.
04:45The passenger is currently receiving medical attention.
