Young Changemaker for Business and Human Rights Advisory, Social Impact Integration in Corporate Operations, Modern Slavery Prevention, and Human-Centered Value Creation in ESG Practices (Australia)

Sandy Ng is a rising leader among the next generation of forward-thinking business and human rights specialists, dedicated to embedding social good and respect for human rights into the core of corporate systems and operations. As Senior Consultant in KPMG Australia's ESG Advisory team (formerly Banarra), she collaborates closely with organizations across sectors to identify, assess, and manage human rights risks and opportunities related to workers, communities, and consumers. Sandy partners with businesses to address complex challenges such as modern slavery, climate-related social impacts, social license to operate, and grievance mechanisms, aligning efforts with the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights to prevent harm, foster positive social value, and build resilient, people-centered practices.

Since joining KPMG in 2022 as a graduate consultant, Sandy has advanced rapidly to her current senior role (promoted in recent years), contributing to high-impact projects including the development of practical guides in collaboration with the Property Council of Australia, such as resources on listening and responding to modern slavery in the property and construction sector, and effective remediation and grievance processes. These tools empower businesses to implement meaningful human rights due diligence, enhance transparency, and create healthier, more equitable workplaces. Her work places people at the heart of economic decision-making, helping major organizations navigate ESG complexities while driving sustainable, inclusive growth.

Sandy's passion for global citizenship and human rights was evident early in her leadership as President of the Sydney University United Nations Society (SUUNS), where she led the organization through the challenges of the COVID-19 era. Under her optimistic guidance, SUUNS supported over 150 members in developing professional and social skills as global citizens through diverse events, strengthened connections within Australia's Model United Nations community, and delivered the most successful Sydney University Model United Nations Conference (SydMUN) to date in her roles as Co-Secretary-General and other key positions.

00:26Day-to-day, I work closely with organisations to understand just how their decisions impacts the rights of workers, communities
00:35and consumers, just like yourselves.
00:37And together, we create human-centred value and prevent harm to people.
00:42In practice, this means ensuring stakeholder voices are reflected in business decisions, you know, co-designing operations that benefit workers
00:52and communities,
00:53building capability in human rights impact management, and uncovering and addressing modern slavery in supply chains.
01:01Achieving the global goals starts with how we treat people in the systems we build and the decisions we make
01:07every day.
01:08So with only four years left to 2030, how are you helping to advance peace, dignity and equality on a
01:16healthy planet?
01:16that thinks the truth and your turn doesn't want to be Dünya unising, you know, both of the people of
01:16Israel,
01:16than very hard of a circumstance.
01:16And oh, wait a minute.
01:17I'm going to make you feel more bang on difference.
