00:00Former Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli's move to initiate bankruptcy proceedings
00:05against National Feedlot Corporation Sindhiyan Berhad Director Mohamed Saleh Ismail
00:10and winding up proceedings against the company happened amicably resolved.
00:14This was confirmed by Rafizi's lawyer, Raslan Hadri Zulkifli.
00:18The case was scheduled to be heard before High Court Judicial Commissioner Gante Cheong today,
00:23but the hearing was vacated following a Notice of Discontinuance filed on March 3.
00:27The court order, stemming from a defamation suit filed against Rafizi, required payment
00:32in damages and costs excluding interest. It was previously reported that Rafizi had
00:38acknowledged payments of RM300,000 by Saleh and NFCorp made through their solicitors in December 2022.
00:44The exact outstanding amount being pursued by Rafizi was not specified.
00:49The defendants had asked for the interest to be set aside due to their substantial financial liability.
00:55Although Rafizi's lawyers rejected the request, the defendants made no further payments.
