The Tasek Gelugor MP is accused of twisting the facts after failing to allegedly oust the party president, amid growing calls for disciplinary action against him.
00:00Bersatu Assemblymen in Selangor have urged Tasik Gelugur MP Wan Saifo Wan Jan to focus on his ongoing court case instead of launching baseless attacks against party leaders.
00:12In a joint statement, the 10 Assemblymen criticised Wan Saifo's press conference yesterday with several division chiefs,
00:19which they claimed was an attempt to divert attention from the failure of a malicious plot to topple Bersatu President Muhyiddin Yassin through a statutory declaration campaign.
00:30The 10 included Taman Medan Assemblyman Dr Afif Bahardin and Gumbat Setia Assemblyman Hilman Edam,
00:37who accused the Tasik Gelugur MP of trying to divert attention from his own legal troubles by reviving all allegations against Party Secretary General Azmin Ali.
00:48Wan Saifo, who is also a Bersatu Supreme Council member, is currently facing charges in court related to money laundering and corruption linked to the Jana Wibawa project.
00:58The Assemblymen also rejected accusations against Azmin, calling them recycled slander that had already been investigated by police for eight months before the Attorney General decided in 2020 that there were no grounds for prosecution.
01:13They further called on the party's disciplinary board to expedite stern action, including the possible expulsion of Wan Saifo and others alleged to be colluding with him.
