00:00Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has urged the public not to rush to judge former economy minister Rafizi Ramli over the
00:07corruption allegations against him.
00:10Anwar stressed that while the government will not compromise on corruption, the claims against Rafizi should not be used to
00:17tarnish his reputation before investigations are concluded.
00:21He said there should be no finger-pointing during this blessed month of Ramadan and that if there is evidence
00:26of wrongdoing, then charges should be laid in court.
00:30He said people immediately jump in with condemnation as soon as someone makes an accusation, even though the facts are
00:36not yet known, adding that it could turn out to be slander.
00:40Meanwhile, Rafizi, the Pandan MP, said he will provide a detailed response tonight regarding two allegations of misconduct linked to
00:48him, including a claim of his involvement in a 2.5 billion ringgit corruption case related to the awarding of
00:54a contract to a company associated with him.
00:57He said he would also respond to allegations concerning a 1.1 billion ringgit government agreement with Arm Holdings, a
01:03global semiconductor giant, which is being investigated by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission.
